However I always use somebody's else's paint (with their approval).

Started many designs but don't have the time.

Almost got done with my "Tetris" Legends Car.

Yeah gimp is awesome, and it's free to boot. There's a bunch of video tutorials on youtube too just about making paints with gimp so definitely check those out!

Thanks 👍 Was about to subscribe to the trading paints one, but now can use that $30 for tracks on Iracing 👍

Changed a few things. Added Buttkicker to the sponsor list and changed my number font.

Didn't know we got more styles with the update. If you haven't seen the new ones. Worth a look. Some nice stuff been added.

Well due to not liking Road America very much I used this weeks seat time to do my RUF paint job. Once again it's very plain and simple but keeps in with my Panasonic Racing theme... always feel a bit embarrassed posting mine on the same page as OwensRacing's paint jobs :embarrassed:.
First time using the 2048x2048 templates too....Wow they are soooo much better :)

Working on a new paint. Well I've settled on a Livery just working my way through cars and getting them done. Anyway. Here is the McLaren in my Chivas Regal 18 livery.

Oh that's a skin I wouldn't take on Sinya, lining everything up would drive me crazy!!
Are you using Mathew Netercote's add ons?

This years factory design, on the surface doesn't seem too difficult to me actually. The nose and rear will require a bit of patience but, aside from that it's fairly straight forward. When I do last years factory design, things are going to get difficult. Nothing will compare to that bloody HPD paint, and the design itself isn't too terribly complex. I have yet to see a 2013 or 2014 Porsche Factory paint (Which is incredibly odd, and I've seen the Porsche NA Rolex 24 done) so, even if they are difficult to make. It will all be worth it in the end as I'm fairly certain that it will be one of the top used paints on a RUF. Heck, I may even start to drive the RUF in GT3 if I get the 2013 911 50 design spot on. I thought it was one of the best looking designs on a race car ever.

Yep, using his add ons as well as I hope I can find a way to mask his metallic layers to only the silver lines on the design. I know nothing about masking though so, I'll probably have to ask for tips from the community for that. I also need to ask the community for a RSR badge and a remake for the right doors Porsche Intelligence Performance logo as it is reversed from the original logo. The iRacing community is super helpful and should be able to help me with that.

Here's my progress report for tonight. @Jav was right... I've begun cursing at the front nose section of this car haha. Either way, I've got a lot of work ahead of me if I want to get this finished before I fly back to the US for 2 months. On the positive side, I've got the sponsors completely finished. Excluding the Chopard Watch sponsorship on the mirrors, which I may or may not do depending on if I can have the patience to warp the logo around the mirror template that iRacing has given us. I'm contemplating putting a 20th Anniversary Senna sticker on the car somewhere, and on every one of my cars for that matter. Think people would be angry if I added that somewhere even though it's not on the actual car? The wheel base on the current gen 911 must be longer, or the numbers on iRacing are really large. The Hertz logo is incredibly smashed despite being the correct size.

Silver, what brings you to use the Miller Welder as a sponsor?

Love it btw.
Just took a TIG welding tech class at my college and we used Miller equipment, and Ive never seen a race car with Miller welding as the main sponser before.

I also want to put an arc on the end of the tungsten on the torch but im not good enough yet.

Getting my fleet done up slowly but surely. ;)

I've got an idea for a NASCAR Truck that I may end up doing tomorrow. Depends how froggy I feel. I may install tactiles and equipment.

Love the Chivas livery. Looks excellent on the Lotus and Ruf! Nice helmet too. I forgot you could change that.

Maybe its time to take action and see if it's hard to make an helmet :D

Good luck with the Porsche livery kamui. I think Porsche could've come with a better livery, it's a bit boring...

I agree. I'm not a big fan of this years typeface design. Though, last years 911 50 typeface design that they used in WEC looked awesome.

An update. I got very busy a few days for departure so, I could not get it finished before my flight. But, I have brought the files along with me so, once I finally arrive home (42 hours of traveling...) I should be able to resume work.

After gaining some more knowledge on skinning im close to finishing this up. Finally fixed the Tig Torch location and fixed the upper side intakes with the lightning pattern and swapped out a few logos. Never realized how much turning on the wireframe helps. 👍

Next skin i want to do is a blu e-cig livery on the new Z4.

This is probably a dumb question but I'm new to iracing and PC gaming in general. How to you upload you own paint schemes and liveries? How would I get a Gtplanet livery?

you use a photo editing software(Photoshop/gimp/etc.) then go to www.tradingpaints.com. download it and then you can upload your paints to their website and you'll be able to see the custom paint schemes of everyone else! There are also templates in the customize cars tab of iracing member site which you can use in Photoshop. Hopes that helps!
