So before the update to start a paint, usually I'd open the template in gimp then save it and open it in PSE8 to do work b/c that was how I unlocked the layers. Now I open it in gimp (updated it too to 2.8) and it gives me all the layers but it shows it as base then patterns in a drop down (+ and - type) then base again and the image is just the base with the mask over it. So when I open it in PSE8 it shows 4 layers. Prefinish layer, color changeable logo layer, pit color layer and base.
1. How do I get it to unlock the layers properly?
Also I managed to throw a texture from online in as a layer and I saved it as a tga and uploaded it to TP but when I enter the sim it doesn't show. I checked it with other cars and no show, checked other paints they show, so it has to be the tga file.
2. I don't understand why it's not showing, ant ideas?

A question for those that have painted the RUF. Is the template the same between all 3 cars? I'm beginning my paint to run in the 2.4

I know lot of you guys here do your own paints but when it comes to doing paints my skills are non existent. I've painted real cars about my whole life but I cant run photoshop worth a crap lol. That being said does any know of a painter I could use and what the going rate for paint schemes are now? Its been a year or so since I got any new paints and back then I had a team mate in the league I was in that did paints but now he is in college full time so he doesn't have the time anymore. Jav hooked me up with a awesome hpd paint job a while back 👍. Id like to re do all the cars I drive to match but depends on pricing but I really need to get my ruf track done and also the super late model when it comes out next week.

Cool deal thanks for the replies. No problem Kamui. I'll check out that site Carlos. After I posted I remembered that the guy that painted my old stuff has a friend that does paint now I think. I'll see what him and the guy at race skins say. I don't think $10 a car is that bad. The guy that sponsors the late model league I run in Matt Rolfe designs does 2-3 cars for $20 I think. He does lot of my buddies cars and they look awesome and all but he puts lot of his logos on the cars as well as theirs and Im not tying to pay for a paint job and have as many painter logos as my own on it. I dont mind a small one or two but not a majority of it.

I really like that white, orange, and black! Very clean!
I spent over 8 hours working on recreating the Dempsey Racing livery (There were several different variations last year, but I chose the one from Petit Le Mans with no main sponsor). I was quite pleased with how it turned out. But now I see that Dempsey is going back to the black-with-silver-triangles livery that they had on their LMP2 car 2 seasons ago. And another team is going to be running the silver and black with Tully's sponsorship. :/

Everyone seems to like my paint scheme (Orange), when I like my teammates more than mine lol.
@OwensRacing I like that paint a lot. Not sure about the Goodyear, Monster, and American Flag on the splitters but, other than that it looks really nice!

Took the advice and revamped the paint job some. Added some number plates, waiting on my number to update color. :/

New RUF paint:
Made the CF pattern myself. The mirrors, front splitter, and wing sides are a darker CF.
The skin will be for the racing cars not the RWD. Gotta add number plates and my name. Maybe change the GTP logos on the side up.
