Finally got black wheels:

Just an idea ... but if you match that blue color and paint the wheels that color ... it will seriously pop.

I was thinking the same but in the gold colour of the logos instead... just dont know how possible it is to get that gold colour in iracing.

It's very basic but its all my own work. Once I work out where the mirrors are on the template , I'll do them in blue. Just getting the hang of painting here

Highlighted in Yellow is the top and bottom for the mirrors. Then the Pink Highlight is the triangle connecting the mirrors to the car.



PS: I'd use Castrol over Mobil1 if it were me. As BMW have had a relationship with Castrol for the past 5 years or so.

That was what I tried first. Unfortunately it didn't look nearly as good as I was thinking it would.

Now I haven't tried a gold. Hmmm

Any smokers out there looking to quit. I highly recommend Halo e cigs. Their tritton tank system is amazing. Huge vapor. Super clean. Tasty juices. I've been smoke free for nearly two months and have zero desire for a cigarette. I think they smell and are nasty.

EDIT: Thank you again for your help Shinya. I changed the oil sponsor , did the mirrors in blue as well as a few other bits and a gave it a general tidy up.

I tried another simple classic paint, 1967 McLaren M6a on a radical, it's ok. isn't there an app.ini setting that I'm supposed to change for pictures?
anyway I did it off personal pictures I took at Griot's Garage, someone did the signature on an M4a L49 and I did my best to copy, the rest was simple.

How did you get the kidney grills blue? No matter what i try it stays metal. And i want the grills on this FIA GT 2000ish looking livery orange too.

I opened PS , dragged the Z4 template on then dragged my TGA onto that. I just painted the grey grille area in the same blue that I used for the mirrors and wing end plates. You can see which layers I have showing , but they get turned off before exporting.

They seem to stay chrome regardless , but with a hint of color which also varies depending on how the light hits the grille. Compare the grille in this latest shot with the previous one up the page. I haven't changed the grille coloring at all. First shot was at Bathurst on a bright sunny day. The shot below is from an overcast Watkins Glen.

Early 2000's FIA GT inspired livery with some time period logos (I think....) I cheated a little so you'll never be able to see the number you get from Iracing so i can always have #84 now.

You skin the TGA file with the number plate? I like this idea as my #27 has some deep meaning for myself.


With this trick you can add a rear number and plate.

On the macca and bmw you have to make the area where the number is black but with the ruf it would be easier since you can make the numbers the same color as the car.

Print screen only works when you aren't in full screen (uncheck from graphics settings in sim). Fraps will work in full screen for screenshots and video capture. Btw space bar gets rid of the replay bar

Not to undermine you. However I can print screen while running full screen on my triples. I can tell it is slower to allow me to bring up the menu again.

I assume Ram is an issue. I've got plenty as well lots of grunt from the processor.


I usually have it set to single screen window mode when doing graphic work. Easier to write tga and refresh to see results.

When I want triple wallpaper I screen shot it in full screen triple.

The first time I saw that M3 was when I was at Zandvoort, Marlboro Masters. I was still a little boy but I used my dads camera and the nicest photo was of that M3.

I've got the print screen working off my Elgato catpure device

Next question.
On the MX5, I have tried to remove the sponosor images at the bottom of the door and rear bumper but it keeps on showing up on the vehicle when i load it into the game.
(image below is for reference and not my work)

Final question, my mate changed his car paint, so in game he could see his new scheme but when we raced I could see his old scheme??? anyone had this before?

edit, done some reading up and I noticed I need to share my designs with my mates and also some logos I can not change.
