I am 50/50 for tonight. Depends on how I feel. Currently at home from work with a sore throat and stuffy/sore ears. :(

About the driving:

The race at the Nurburgring was a good one, despite there only being 9 cars. That being said - I would caution folks to be careful when overtaking. I did see one move that was extremely risky last week and could have ended in tears had one of the drivers not been very alert. I heard the conversation in chat regarding the near miss. There is no penalty or rules infringement but I ask that drivers try to avoid such actions.

On another note - we should all be careful to not go off track repeatedly in a particular corner (when we know there is no in-game penalty). Especially if it sends one off line and gets the tires dirty. I'd hate to see a scenario where a driver goes off line and causes a collision by losing control due to being in the grass OR suffers from dirty tires and gets involved in a collision on the following corner.

Just food for thought.

Also - has the update to the penalty system been able to address some of the nonsensical penalties that were being given to drivers who were struck by someone else? I don't do Sport Mode so I haven't got any experience.

It didn’t seem like it to me. I got slammed into the chicane at Tokyo last night by someone who didn’t brake in fia. I got a 6 second penalty.

As far as the stuff we had been seeing, the only to know is find out tonight I guess. Lol

Happened to glance at the standings and noticed we only have 5 fastest laps in 6 races. I'm assuming 1 was missed?

Sorry I had to bail tonight. I have to deal with unnecessary drama from my sons mother. Many apologies for leaving.

Hope the rest of yous guys race goes well.

So.... after the race I made some changes to my csl elite wheel settings and stiffened up the load cell brake rubber thingys on the csl elite pedals. Then jumped in time trial at Suzuka in my vette. Pulled these times.

Then Made a sport mode lobby, everything the same as time trial and this was the best I could do...

Are the physics that different between the two, Is there a big difference between how the grip is done with having tire wear in sport mode, or is there something with my internet connection holding me back?

Yes. There is more grip offline. If you want to practice for a race, you have to open a private lobby. Offline physics are just so different that you are wasting your time practicing offline. Have noticed similar issues in project cars 2 as well.

That would most likely have to do with information having to travel through the online that causes that grip loss.

I don't know if this helps much but if I use soft tires online I generally practice with hard tires offline. But I haven't really dove into if that is effective or not.
