tho i wouldnt go, i'm a MOPAR guy!:)

this just showed how ignorant you are.

1) do you know how much it cost for the entire model team to come to the states to collect data?
2) do you know how long it takes for them to collect all the accurate data including capturing the model of the car?
3) are those cars available for them to model for an extensive period of time?

let me answer that for you. let say there are 50 unique cars that are worthy in the game. each car would need at least 5-6 hours with a team of 5 people doing laser scan, measuring, taking pictures on every inch of the car etc.... it would take them at least 10 days working 24 hours. they could send 30 people to this trip to speed things up. it would still take 10 to 15 days... and this is just for getting the model done. what about sound recording???

don't forget this is a business trip, the whole team's accommodation and food has to be covered by the company. a trip like this would cost over half a million US, you should blame Ford, GM and Chrysler of Japan unable to provide them with more american car models then telling them where to find it.

If PD managed to do that to a Ford Model T, the Motor Carriage, or a concept vehicle, I don't see that as a viable excuse for them not to have included those cars before, or not to include them in the future. :indiff:

Model T, Motor Carriage all are probably sitting in a museum in Japan.
as far as concept vehicle goes, especially if its from a JDM manufacturer, all they need to do is travel a short distance to the manufacturer. as far as I know, all Nissan, Honda, Toyota have a warehouse containing every single of their previous production models, concept cars and race cars.

it all depends how the manufacturer is willing to work with PD. which at this point, I don't think american manufacturer cars at the moment. they are struggling to get back on their feet.... i don't think they would care much if their classic cars are featured on some video game.

Oh my ignorence in this matter isnt in question because i freely admit I've nrver done this. However how is it any more expensive than doing any other car in any other country?.

ps call me or anyone else a name in the future J/A and I'll report you,

So do you think Japan only have Japanese cars and nothing else? PD doesn't need to travel to Italy to model most Ferrari.

I'm pretty sure there is a nice collection of Mustangs, corvette in Japan, but for sure not as extensive as north america.

same deal with Turn10, they could never have access to the hundred different skylines. all they are familiar with is R32,33,34.... and ONLY the GTR. nothing else. I could bet you that people at Turn10 probably don't even know the Infiniti G is sold as the 11th and 12th generation Skyline in Japan

Polyphony designed the infotainment system in the new GTR. There's going to be at least as many Skylines as GT4 had.

'Too many choices overly complicates the game.'

Justifying numbers. Figure three laps at a minute each, on each track (20 tracks) per car. That's one hour per car to cover all tracks. 800 cars = 800 hours of play time. Now, in GT3, I spent hours running one car around one track. So by that justification, If I were to spend 4 hours per car on one track, that's 80 hours to fully enjoy one car on every track. If I get 20 hours per week to race, that means I use one car per month. At that rate, it 800 months to enjoy every car on every track.

Hence, I skip the Multiple versions of the car. And therefore, PD wasted their time (and money) on multiple iterations of the same car, because I'll never use it.

These aren't justified numbers, they're mere opinion and no where near and an exact science nor measurements. the calculation in your opinion and your game play times may make it seem accurate but who's to say that is how every player chooses to 'enjoy' a car. What about the time spent tuning a car, or a test comparison, or top speed and quarter mile runs? Are those not 'enjoyable' time consuming parts of the game too?

As far as the multiple versions of a single car goes? I'm shocked it's an argument. If GT had just 3 versions of a car, like the R34 GT-R. We'd have just one R34 Nur, one JGTC version, and one tuner shop GT-R. Now how much fun would that really be honestly, you wouldn't make it to 800 hours of game play because it would make GT as dull as other racing titles like a NFS for example where the car you see is it. No variation takes the fun out and the variation of a specific car or any car on GT makes it fun to me and that's why i favored it 11 years ago and still play GT till this day. But that's just my opinion. Now any car enthusiasts should appreciate the variation of one car on the game and the Skyline's make the best example. I'm pretty sure at best at least 85% of the users of GTP didn't know their was a 'Skyline' being produced in the 60's till they played GT4. The track differentiation in both normal and reverse I like, it let's you hone your skills in both directions and in no way just like a healthy variation of cars DO NOT complicate the game. so to answer the title question, No.

Can't have enough skyline's! But i am disapointed in PD by not adding the chaser/markII/cresta/markX range in GT. Because they are easy as popular as the skyline range!
