Is it released in the US?

So, since this is the first time I preordered a game since GT2, and the first one from Best Buy online, I have a question:

Will it arrive at my house on the day it is supposed to be released (tomorrow) or will it ship tomorrow and arrive whenever it gets here?

Best Buy put a hold on the money in my checking account yesterday, so it had better be here pretty promptly. I will be quit angry if they charge me and then tell me it has been delayed due to supply issues or whatever.

I think they ship it on the release date like gamestop and others.

The manager at our local Gamestop said they are shipping out GT5:P today for the release date of 4/17/2008. I'm trying not to get too excited until I get that pre-recorded message from Gamestop saying my copy is in and ready to be picked up. :)

I'm trying not to get too excited to come home to my game because my pregnant sister-in-law is due tomorrow. She didn't go early as hoped so now I am hoping she will be late, because I want this weekend for just me and my PS3.

I already made my wife change the date of her planned Pampered Chef party from Friday to June.

Hi all. The dates listed on Gamestop.com are "ship" dates. Most of the time when you see their release date, expect it on the shelves the following day. I called my local Gamestop and they said that it'll be tomorrow as well. - Jacksonville, FL

Yeah guy told me to come back next day sine the delivery truck will be there at around 11 ish :)
So I'll check the store out at 12 and since I have my on pre-order I'll have it waiting for me without a scratch
👍

I don't know what the deal with Gamestop is, I went in during my lunch break and this dude told me he was expecting a shipment within half an hour (it was 12:20-ish at the time), so I paid in full for a game I thought would be in my hands at this very moment, however, when I went back after school was over some new guy tells me it won't come out until tomorrow.

I was seriously considering getting my money back and going to a place that I knew would have it, but I didn't do that...

Why? I haven't the slightest idea. :dunce:

One of the many reasons I dislike Gamestop and their seemingly unaware employees.

 Perfect! 👍

Yeah, she planned it the week before they announced the release date. When I heard the release date I immediately called her and told her she could not take up the living room with the big TV that weekend.

Fortunately she didn't argue because she realized my sister-in-law's due date was this week too and it might just be bad timing all around. So, she was probably intending to move the date anyway, but the fact is I asked her to move it before I knew that. So, I still give myself games before my wife craptastic husband points.

I'm sure I have some honey-do points I can cash in this weekend for some un-interrupted gaming time. :D

i just called, tomorrow, but they have my reservation so i will definatly get a copy, but i am a year and 2 months from driving, so i have to wait for my mom to come home, the torture, the 1.25 hour torture.

I live in Canada, went to Wal-Mart they said it would possibly be tommorow, real canadian superstore said like 4 or 5 days

Good. This has been absolute torture for me, I was in such a mood today you wouldn't believe. :sly:

This'll be the "Prologue" in my collection, all I have to do now is pick up the various auto show inspired Gran Turismo 3 spawns and I'll be done.

Haha, I just got the Playstation newsletter, and it said Gran-Turismo 5: Prologue available now!

Followed by an amazon email that read:
"Due to blah blah yadda, we won't be able to ship your copy until either wednesday (16th) or thursday (17th).

Lol.

i get my copy tomorrow i will be playing by 6PM, god this is like christmas eve to me, i am hoping to have the 91' NSX by midnight tomorrow, i am going to be one tired kid in school tomorrow, or at least the RX-8 (or did they get rid of the FD RX-7?)
also, can someone tell me if car values are close to the same, adn how much the NSX costs and the RX?

I get my copy tomorrow and my new PS3 :) I'm so happy, my PS3 was back ordered for 12 days cause of changes sony made and said my PS3 won't be region free anymore.

"Due to different television and voltage standards, and a variety of
licensing issues, Sony Computer
Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) has implemented a territorial-based
distribution system for its hardware,
peripherals, and software. This limits the use of any particular
software to play on the console
designated for that distribution territory (e.g. North American games
will not play in the systems
designed for other regions, such as, Japan, Europe, etc.). You may
also experience problems if you
attempt to use memory cards, controllers, etc. from a different region
(outside of North America) on
your North American console. In addition, due to a difference in
international television
standards, PlayStation(R) consoles may not be compatible with
televisions made for use outside of
the designed region.

We do not have any information on adapters or converters made to

I believe this is only 🤬 in order to save money for SCEA, and a cheap way for them to protect their domestic market from imported products by SCEE, SCEJ, etc.

Japanese TV standard is the same as yours. Try a Japanese Blu-Ray game and I'm sure it will work even the region is different (reportedly there's a bunch of region locked games like Oblivion and Def Jam though). A Japanese Dual Shock 3 should work as well ! There is no reason for imported peripherals such as wireless gamepads to not work in the US.

Region lock affects your PS3 when games are in SD mode only (GT HD Concept US doesn't work on PAL SD TV). The same games running on PAL HD resolution should work on your US PS3 i think. Just try some demos from the UK PS Store and you'll know! ;)

Apologizes for my bad english guys, but I've reading the whole post many times and I'm afraid about the fact of have misunderstood it. That's a general new, or it's a problem with your Playstation 3 H_S2000?, because at the beginnin you said your Playstation 3, but the SCEA talks about all the Playstation 3 on the way I understood it...

I'm asking because I'm from Spain, and here for example you can't found the official memory card adaptor for Playstation 3, you just can found third parties ones, so two days ago I ordered a Sony official one from United States for 18$ (shipment included) because it's the only place where I could buy it (I really don't trust my 8 Memory Card data on a third party memory card adaptor, only on the official Sony one).

And I was thinkin' about import a DUAL SHOCK 3 too from Japan... you know, I was happy with the idea that the Playstation 3 was region-free for it's games, controllers, cables, and so on...

So could anybody give me a hand and tell me if I've misunderstood the message? (excuse my doubt because I was talking about anything different from GT5).
