The title has the answer: There is no system link .

I call shenanigans... that's just lame to take out LAN...

I can confirm that there is no LAN. But there is a way to play if all players have Gold, and one spare internet connection.

My friends and I tested FM3 on lan with 5 players, and one 3G network uplink (1meg?), and it played nicely. So all the network traffic is on "LAN", and the internet connection is used only for "auth" purposes.
