Is there any one else not going to get gt6

I plan to at least rent GT6 but I don't know if this will be a purchase for me. GT5 was a HUGE disappointment and next spring I will be trading in my PS3 toward the X1. If the rental is great then I might buy GT6. But at this point, I am not planning on buying GT6. The series has just went downhill for me. The standards truly killed it IMO. At least the standards wont be restricted in GT6. Such a shame, grew up a massive fan of the series.

I plan to wait until they release some equivalent to GT5 XL with all the DLC content included. Then I'll nab it used. No way I'm getting burned on locked out content this time around. If they cripple the used version some how (which is an annoying trend), then I guess I'll just miss out.

I remember when XL Edition came out, I traded in my copy of GT5 and ended up having to pay only $5 or something. It was advertised as having $20 worth of DLC value in it, so I think I had a pretty decent deal. I was extremely upset at the Canadian version of XL Edition though, it didn't have the reversible Spec II cover. My first post was actually asking GTP if anyone had a scan but I don't think it ever worked out. I'm planning on buying an American copy but it is still such an expensive game ($15-$20).

Sounds like a plan.

I'm sorry - but you call that expensive?! How many hours did you play GT5 - now divide that by how much you paid; I think you'll find the value speaks for itself - well, it does if you enjoyed the game.

I already own GT5 and upgraded to GT5 XL Edition. I'm not going to pay $15-$20 just for a US cover art (the piece of paper).

Funny how some people would wait months just to save a few bucks, personally I can't wait to play and the price is not bad. I would even be willing to pay a few extra bucks if I could get an early copy. If they told me they had one copy now and it could be mine for an extra $20 I would be driving to the store to get it :)

No wonder soccer players need such a big ball and net to shoot at. They can't even hit each other with fists when they are standing toe to toe:lol:.

Hockey fan?

Don't tell me you are a American Prolate Spheroïd fan though. Those are whimps...

i have no interest in any game that continues to have nascar included
I myself dont like Nascar , but I dont mind the inclusion of it once I am not forced to do lots of Nascar racing in GT6.

I will not get myself GT6. The reason is simple, why get a game i already have? Gt6 is almost identical to Gt5! And the new features they announced for gt6 is so disapointing that i can not belive that they made so little inprovements! Everyone want this and that etc and PD give us a nicer sky to look at while racing? Priorities what? I give up my hope on PD.

I take it you've played the retail version of GT6 then? If not then you cant say its identical to GT5 because thats like saying every GT game so far is identical.

A few could very well be $40 or more if you consider its discounted price plus what the DLC would've cost, especially since it sounds like there will be a lot of it at regular intervals, which quickly adds up.

I would think that you would have to wait from 6 months to a year to get the DLC included, possibly longer.
Personally I am not willing to wait that long. I want to play the game while its fresh, while my friends are playing and before most people move on to something else.

Yes you can get a good deal if you wait for them to repackage with DLC and even better if you buy that version used but is it really worth it to not be able to play the game?

Gran Turismo is worth every penny. Get it on day one. Why wait? If it were a console, then I would agree on waiting a year or two. But as SlipZtrEm says, if you're still putting hours in GT5, then it means GT6 will not be any casual game for you.

It really depends on how much better it is than GT5 and how the DLC situation pans out. *IF* it's basically GT5.5 and there's a lot of pricey DLC, I'll wait. If it turns out to be an amazing game, which I hope, I may change my mind and buy it. Just not the first day. Gotta wait and see.

I think I'm gonna do a u-ey (180º) and get GT6 on launch day.

If I can't get hold of an Xbox One until next year GT6 is the only console sim-ish title in town and December is a long month.

I never thought I'd see the game as a snack to consume between Forzas though.

To all the people waiting for GT6 XL, there is no gurantee that it will come out and by the time it does, GT7 may be close to release, GT5 XL came out over a year after GT5 launched, we know GT7 will come out in 1-2years time.

On one hand I am really really really looking forward to GT6, but on the other, in that very dark corner of my mind, I am really loathing the droning engine sounds that make the cars seem such a dissappointment.. hoping all that will change.

It should, with time.

Don't forget though, there is also the visual enjoyment which is the other major sense we can appreciate from a game, especially as taste and smell can't be conveyed along with touch.

I agree with this but we don't know when GT7 will come out, the way you've put it, is almost assured. It could be 1 year to 5 years from now we don't know.

True! But the sound is one area they CAN improve, so indeed they should, and soon.

I'll get it yes, but first i'll await the reviews (with the damn embargo meaning for sure it won't be a day one purchase), if i like what i read about possible improvements to career mode and AI i'll order it new on Amazon a second later, if the same issues as GT5 seem to be alive yet again for GT6 :ill:, i'll wait and buy it second hand. And as you probably know not to save money, but just so PD won't get my purchase this time.

I complained a lot after GT5 and I thought: "the next installment, I am not going to bother. Will buy it someday..pff don't care". But.......

After all the footage that has been shown, the new tracks, the new cars and Polyphony meeting their deadline the first time of their lives. It's all quite impressive. I even dare to say that I look very much forward to play this game. However it will "probably" not be bought on release. I wait for the reviews of the users in here and I will check the "Epic whining and crying" thread as well. In the end I probably won't be able to resists...Christmas :D
