I did not mean to label you as one of them, which is why I've modified my post to make it clearer.

But I am just not going to fall into the never ending spiral of providing proof of this, of that, of these people/that people's involvement/non-involvement, what have you. Because, quite simply, no amount of proof will ever be enough.

People can make their own conclusions and I've said my piece in this thread. You can believe what you like but others who have suffered will be damned before they let history repeat itself.

Peace.

BTW, Islam is not a race. I wish the 'self-proclaimed' liberals in this thread would remember that.

Well perfect example or evidence I should say is carbonox. Finnish media has more or less fed him the lies about islam. You'll see when you read all his posts. And its the same here in UK. You only have to look at EDL.

I dont understand your race point. When has anyone given the impression about islam being a race?

You sound like one of those people that keeps bringing 9/11 up to justify hate.

I don't think I've seen this implied here. It does feel like the media certainly implies it though.

The EDL is portrayed in such a negative light that it's mere existence is detrimental to it's own beliefs. The EDL are viewed by the public as racist skinheads and hooligans just looking for trouble. I think this is the case and I would even go as far to say as many aren't truly xenophobic but are just looking for trouble. Either that or they come from poor areas which do often include a lot a Muslims and these Muslims have caused them trouble so they take it out on Islam, and mistakenly other religions, in general.

I know this is a pretty anarchical source but I think it sums up most young people's view of the EDL.

Its viewed in its true light. The BBC3 documentary was just astonishing....There was this one clip where the EDL leader tommy vinson pissed out of his head is throwing pebbles or something similar across the street, when in the same frame, was a police officer just beside him. I am not in any way saying that all EDL supporters are like him. But if you want to be taken seriously then maybe you he needs to really evaluate his life....The constant insults to islam and its people. Just hate him. Hes somewhat similar to the famous 20 points of carbonox. Some of tommys points such as the crime of muslim people is just gob-smacking. He blames the religion of the people for the crime they're comitting when he doesnt see that islam strongly condems the crimes in matter...

My history teacher has told that Canada's multiculturality doesn't pose a threat because immigrants have actually been assimilated.

Looks like your history teacher needs a new job. Canada is not a melting pot or an assimilating country. There are many cultures in Canada, and people just accept it as they are, and leave them alone. Chinese people still act as they're in China, Indians still go around wearing full out turbans etc. And none of them are discriminated against. In fact, north of my City, there's a city called Brampton. However, due to the strong presence of South Asians, it is nicknamed more appropriately, "Browntown". Canada's social and cultural laws/ norms allow people to live in the country and really just feel at home. We respect eachothers cultures and religions, as in the end, the Native Americans are the ones who have the right to tell us to "Get out of our country". But they're nice and they don't.

Regarding the Somalis and Romanis, you have to look at it from their point of view. They're hard workers. They're trying to do anything to make a penny or two. Even though they're beggars and commit crimes once in a while, you have to look at them in a bigger picture. I'm sure if they could make money legally, they definately would. But since they can't they've resorted to crime.

Regarding Finnish people.... my last year's English teacher was Finnish... she isn't popular among the students...

^English teachers aren't popular in general.:)

I actually quite liked mine back in high school, to the point I have one of them on Facebook as a friend and make a point of saying hi if I'm the area of the school.

Slightly off-topic. But the powerpuff girls were just awesome.

Hey all . And Hey kk20 , hope you're keeping well mate .

Personally I don't know enough about Islam to have an in depth and knowledgeable view on the inner workings of it . As previously mentioned somewhere in the thread , the media twists and turns religion into their own constructs for avid viewing figures .

As an athiest , I believe people have the right to believe in whichever religion they desire , with Islam not being any exception to that rule whatsoever . I do not have any belief in a God , and have never needed any reason to do so , even in the darkest times of my life . Islam is a religion , and it should be respected as such .

I have had many Islamic friends in my life during the last 32 years of it , and never found them , as a group or an individual , to be anything but good , and well mannered , respectable people . Anyone who states otherwise either cannot discern good people from bad in their life ... Regardless of their creed .

:)

So why get all serious over it and be like, 'Once you're in, you can never get out. Neither can your children or your children's children.' I mean, everybody deserves the right to make their own choices, so why can't your child choose his or her own religion, or to even believe in religion for that matter?

This reminds me of something involving the Catholic Church in Ireland. There was a group called Count Me Out, which was used so one could officially leave the Church, but that exit route was closed off in 2008/9 IIRC.

Dude Finland apparently has racial issues, it caught me by surprise.

Especially since Finland supposedly loves libraries and books.

While I do not support the ideas JediRage, I suggest you do not say that JediRage = Finland.

I agree; just because there is one idiot in a nation/race/religion doesn't mean everyone else is like that.

So, anyway. I treat religion like I treat comic books - and their films.

The polytheistic religions are Marvel Avengers, Justice League, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and so on. A whole bunch of guys with different superpowers and jobs to do, with one of them being a bit more leadery than the others.

The three main monotheistic religions are three film adaptations of a single comic book hero - like the 1977 "The Amazing Spider-Man", the 2002 "Spider-Man" and the 2012 "The Amazing Spider-Man". Each tells basically the same story arc about the same super-powered character, but they differ somewhat in the details and supporting cast.

Of course comic books also have their own implausible origin stories, some kooky ideas about space and time, a very vague understanding of science (often skipping it altogether in order to maintain a narrative) and some improbable death/resurrection scenarios - their reality is often very bizarre and doesn't reflect our own. Or was that religions? I forget.

The common ground between Judaism ("Monotheism 1: The Birth of Monotheism"), Christianity ("Monotheism 2: Son of Monotheism") and Islam ("Monotheism 3: The Final Cut") is astonishing. The common ground between Judaism and Islam is even more astonishing - they have a significant bulk of similar practices, beliefs and laws that Christianity dispenses with - given how often the two groups come into conflict with one another. But then I suppose I shouldn't be surprised given how often Protestant and Catholic Christians find reason to come into conflict - or Sunni and Shi'a Muslims do - despite sharing the majority of practices, beliefs and laws...

Wait, so Jesus is Tobey Maguire? No way.

Makes sense, though, the church has always ignored the importance of Gwen Stacey.

Thats a pretty good comparison. The conflict you speak of between islam and judaism, the only conflict I see is palestine vs israel (another touchy topic). Even then some jews are against what the israel goverment does.

The main difference with sunnis and shias. I learnt quite a bit from here myself. http://islam.about.com/cs/divisions/f/shia_sunni.htm

As for religion.

moses (moussa), torah. Couple thoupsand years BC.

Jesus (Isa), injeel. Jesus spread the messages of the injeel. Now this injeel has been fabricated and severely changed, this is what we call the bible. Injeel was gods words. Some of bible is not. (This is for another thread, if anyone wants to open one I'll happily post evidence regarding blatant errors). Now, in the bible it says that jesus was sent for the people of israel.
http://www.bismikaallahuma.org/arch...nt-to-the-children-of-israel-or-to-the-world/
This is an inbiased view. Open up a bible and see the verses for yourself. Nothing has been taken out of context. Jesus was sent for israel.

Muhamed, quran. Now muhamed is the last prophet to be sent down to earth by allah. The revelations of the quran are to be the last book and it is intended to be for EVERYONE in the world. Allah sent Isa, now Allah sent muhamed. Different prophets were sent from allah throughout history. Quran also mentions this regarding Isa and the injeel. And moussa and the torah. Ultimately the same religion.

Now the quran came 500 or so years after injeel. Muhamed said that the quran is the words of allah therefore all people of israel, (when the injeel was in use then) are to stop what they're doing and now follow the quran. Same thing happened in the transition between the torah and injeel. However some people chose not to acknowledge the injeel and as a result there are these groups of people known as jews acknowledging the torah. Also people failed to acknowledge the quran and as a result there are these groups of people known as christians following the bible (moderated version of injeel).

So its all a matter of the books and teaching being outdated I should say, and some people not following the transition. Islam has existed from the moment adam and eve first set foot on earth. Common misconception is that the quran is the beginning of islam. And that muhamed gave birth to Islam (metaphor).

Islam means to submit your will to allah, and peace.

Gospel chapter 5 Verse 30.

"I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me."

Anyone who says i dont follow my will but the will of almighty god is a muslim

This is ofcourse the muslim view. But this view is based upon verses from the torah and bible. Not just from the quran.

Hope I havent offended anyone in any way possible....Any questions and i'll happily answer.

i see it as a different brand of religion. It's like Coca-cola Vs Pepsi. I know it sounds silly but two groups attempting to sell the same product. each has it's own strengths and weakness's.
Where i live in the south of england we (white-british, im not 100% british but if you were to have a stereotypical tea drinking brit- that would kinda be me) we have had a bit of trouble with a few muslims in our area. It is many things, one of which is because we have some very strong catholic's (italian mafia based in my town :guilty:) and some very strong muslims (town also has first mosque in the UK). If i had to point out which group (yes the old pointing the finger) it would unfortunately be the teenage muslims. They have caused a bit more disruption in the local area.
Come to think of it I live in a horrible melting pot, Catholic Mafia make up about 20% of the population and then we have a part of town were over 1/3 are muslim. Also add in some scone throwing surrey prats and then you get the occasional Jehovah's witness who reckons he's everyone's saviour.

Those films are all based on an old book that mixes astrotheology with polytheism.
It's only natural for you to make these observations.

You missed a comma. :nervous:

:confused:What's your view on Islam ? on a site for GT5 threads ? are u friggin' kidding me ? LOL... I have no view whatsoever on that subject, does that count as well ?

That's why it's in the off-topic section, which most of us hope those from the GT5 section will never visit. :D

Not that it helps anyone in any way, but no I didn't. Commas don't belong before an "and" in list.

That's a matter of style actually. I was taught in school not to use a comma, but in US schools today, or at least in California, they are now teaching the kids (my kids) to use one before 'and' in a list.

Not that the above link is the bible or anything :sly:
