And it never will, unless the R36 is so awful you can forgive the R35 of its crapness, that is.

Anyways…Y U NO START TESTING, TESTER?! I'm bored on GT5, I need something to keep me playing…or should I just go back to NFS:HP? Then I might not come back at all. :dopey:

Anyway, one more thing Roj, why is the 490PP Impreza pink? I don't mind pink…but god it doesn't look good…:yuck: Or is that just me, again?
I tried Passionate Pink on my "DMWD" series cars...Definitely not a look anyone wanted to see...even the Mary K reps wouldn't drive it!:scared::crazy:

If the R36 is a likable car, it doesn't excuse the R35 still. :P

I've started testing, but I was waiting for the tuner deadline to properly start. :P And yes, you go back to your Need For HP Sauce.

Your TV is broken. It's lilac, not pink. I think it looks nice.

And if the R36 isn't?

Get going then, it's nearly at the deadline over here, only 3 hours to go. :P Only if GT5 becomes *log in, guess some settings because I've lost the will to test it out, kill Niku in it, flick through UCD, get bored, log out*.

That's the word I was looking for, lilac. It looks like a little girl's blouse!

Then it gets fed to the RS6. :sly:

It's already past the deadline. 23:59 PST was 6 and a half hours ago. :P

Lilac is also a good colour for lingere. Get your head out of the playground, before you get arrested. :P

And what of the R35 then? You'd just forget it or hit the R36 with the R35?

Wait…it's 30th of March or 29th? I'm confused.

What's that? No, no, it's not that, I just happen to have something called a baby cousin who's a girl. :P

On topic, assuming I don't get dragged off onto an aeroplane in the next week, I might start some informal testing, so expect the odd PM from me about a car which blows mine out of the water. Or I might just post it here…

The R35 would just be left to rot like the old Audi TT. Forever alone.

It's the 30th. Your clock is also broken. You should take care of your things. :P

D'awwwwww. :P

So you're going to PM everyone? :sly:

How do you know? :P

Now now, you're grown up now, so show some self restraint. :P

Selective testing. I see something I like, I test it on Suzuka since Tsukuba bores me to death, send PM, rinse and repeat.

Pffffft. I restrain myself enough already on here.

No more tunes accepted after this point. Testers feel free to post your times.

This excludes RJ and Jackthalad who have posted letting me know the cars on on share but tunes will be posted soon

also good morning everyone XD

MAKE&MODEL: Toyota GT 86 ‘13
CIRCUIT:Tsukuba TIME: 1:02.577
CIRCUIT:Suzuka TIME: 2:21.140

Very Praino type of tune, very easy to drive and controllable through out the course a bit of acceleration oversteer in 2nd nothing crazy though, just a nice hint of oversteer if you want to toss it into a corner.

TUNER: MrGrado
MAKE&MODEL: Nissan Fairlady z 300zx
CIRCUIT:Tsukuba TIME: 1:04:178
CIRCUIT:Suzuka TIME: 2:24.859

gets a bit sideways if you push it to hard, can make the car acc. oversteer all the way into 4th. I will say the gears are way to long it was rare that i got into 5th, its a fun driving car but for a timed event it needs to tightened up a bit in the forners and shorten the gear box a bit.

TUNER: Krenkme

Understeer is what kills this car in the tight stuff

TUNER: Motor City Hami
MAKE&MODEL: Toyota 86 GT '12
CIRCUIT:Tsukuba TIME: 1:02.236
CIRCUIT:Suzuka TIME: 2:20.052

Breaking oversteer in 3rd when coming in hot, help you through those longer sweeping turns, 2nd a bit of acceleration oversteer, easy car to control. Not as smooth as Praino's but still good.

TUNER: sheephead99
MAKE&MODEL: Nissan Silvia Spec-R Aero (S15)
CIRCUIT:Tsukuba TIME: 1:03.552
CIRCUIT:Suzuka TIME: 2:22.977

the car is great, lacks a bit of power to keep up with the leaders in the group, liftoff oversteers a bit but can be brought back into place with just a bit of gas.

TUNER: jollygreen
MAKE&MODEL: Toyota MR2 G-LIMITED Super Charger '86
CIRCUIT:Tsukuba TIME: 1:03.839
CIRCUIT:Suzuka TIME: 2:24.229

lol I love this car, its not that fast but damn its fun to be had, its drifty and it helps it in the tight stuff but it gets a bit to drifty. Not the best for this shoot out but still a great drive.

TUNER: VTiRoj
MAKE&MODEL: Toyota 86 GT ‘12

No spoiler = <3, for me at least, so it gets some some points for that. A bit drifty for most people but i like that in a car, acceleration oversteer in 3rd still but not till after you hit about 7kish rpm (so just dont be stupid like me), very controllable, able to handle those long sweeping drifts.

Hint of understeer when coming out of the corner, good speed though, it hops a bit when entering the corner.

Has just enough play in the back to help it get around those tight parts, power is a bit weak at the top end, but i suspect that is more subaru doing then the tune.

Bit of understeer, i would call it safety understeer, really have to push it to get it to do any kind of oversteer. Good car if you need a 500pp car for grip just had a 10 more pp and its there.

its fast but be super careful on the gas in and out of of the corners or you will get major oversteer, i found a nice little trick, up shift one gear and it knocks it back into place. Also gt spoiler on a nsx... i should kick you from this shootout but i cant.. so -100 points... idk what the points go towards but you have -100 of them.

understeer is still there from the 520 tune but what killed this car is the lack of power to go up against the LFA's and others in this range.

TUNER: Motor City Hami
MAKE&MODEL: Lexus LFA '10
CIRCUIT:Tsukuba TIME: 0:57.323

again i shifted when i felt like it, not at 7k because of my driving skill it affected the lap times negatively. it seems to be a bit jumpy/ skippy under breaking into a corner.

nothing really to write about, on tsukuba it can get accleration oversteer all the way up to 4th gear, kind of funny, have to do it on purpose though.

Nice times ryangt!👍👍

Looks like my "DMWDs" are holding their own nicely on Tsukuba but are suffering a tad on Suzuka as expected.

Looking forward to seeing how my Phase III fares in the 550PP class.:D

will be getting to them today once my brother wakes up and gets out of his room... played gt5 once while he was sleeping... he was not to happy with me XD

I tried Passionate Pink on my "DMWD" series cars...Definitely not a look anyone wanted to see...even the Mary K reps wouldn't drive it!:scared::crazy:

Hey now..I'm sure your cars just looked too unique. Passionate Pink is what makes any car Fluffy. Hence why my Passionately Pink LFA Bunny is Fluffy.

Testers, Get crackin on ze testin'! I need some answers, I need to be compared to others!

Nice times, Ryan. 👍 Thanks to you, Krenkme is on his way to owing our crew (Me, desperado, ACSR) a car each. But that time at Suzuka for my 490PP car…come on, surely you can squeeze that extra 0.014th out and break into the 2:19s. You have it in you, you can do it!

My entry for the Japanese Auto Celebration Shootout, I made the car easy to drive.

Lilac is also a good colour for lingere. Get your head out of the playground, before you get arrested. :P
Don't know about where your from but my playgrounds come equipped with adult beverages and the girls in the lilac lingere give lap dances...which means Onboy is far to young to even get in!:lol:

Well call those strip clubs or lap dancing bars. Playgrounds here are for children to play in. :P

As for a testing update, I'm currently on my 5th car so I'll post what I have so far after this.

I'm just hoping my car will make it around the track in one piece. There was some exit understeer I just couldn't get rid of for some reason. I actually tacked on a few changes without testing it so we'll see how badly I mucked it up. :embarrassed:

EDIT: Also, shifting at about 7k seemed to work well. At least for me it did. No huge drop off on power so AT users should be OKish. Ran consistent high 1sec at Tsukuba and a pretty bad 21 at Suzuka.

490PP Testing

Driver’s choice #1: XDesperado’s Caldina - A true sleeper in every sense.
Driver’s choice #2: Theo777’s RX-8 - The car I'd take to a 490PP race.

Tsukuba:
1:02.299
Comments: Feels slow, but it’s actually quite fast.

Suzuka: 2:20.704
Comments: A solid drive at Suzuka, a real driver’s car.

Feedback: It feels a lot slower than it is, which makes it a very easy car to drive quickly. It does exactly what the driver wants and does it well. It may not be the quickest car here, but it’s definitely one of the nicest to drive. It really needs no improvement.

Tsukuba:
1:01.999
Comments: Didn’t get along with this RX-7 too well at Tsukuba. It felt far too stiff at low speeds and it didn’t like the exit to the final corner at all. Or it just loves grass, which may explain the ride height.

Suzuka: 2:20.241
Comments: Got along a bit better at Suzuka, if just because it made high speed driving a bit easier.

Feedback: To be honest, I didn’t enjoy this car at all. This RX-7 seems to demand a different kind of driving style to all the other cars. It may work in CSLACR’s hands, but it didn’t want to play ball in mine. It has a tendency to understeer unless you nail the racing line perfectly and the tank-like stiffness makes the entire experience a tad dull. Being an RX-7, it should be a lot faster than this and more exciting to drive. No offence to CSLACR intended, just being an honest tester.

DaDog - PSN: Terror_Dog
Subaru Impreza – Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STI Spec C Type RA ‘05

Tsukuba:
1:01.742
Comments: Very rapid acceleration, the gearbox is nearly perfect for Tsukuba.

Suzuka: 2:20.356
Comments: Awesome brakes, but the gearbox is hurting the top speed big time. Missing Suzuka gearbox maybe?

Feedback: A gearbox for Suzuka would’ve been nice, although I have a feeling that DaDog gave this Impreza a traditional gearbox setting and didn’t realise that these GD Impreza’s need much, much longer final ratios than a normal car, thus creating a great Tsukuba gearbox unintentionally. It’s nothing a final ratio tweak can’t fix. Apart from that, great brakes, great handling and overall a really fun car to drive.

Comments: It’s fast, but there’s a sense that it doesn’t want to be as fast as the other Impreza’s. It tries to fight you for no reason.

Feedback: After investigating the settings to see why this Impreza seems to fight the driver more than the other GD Impreza’s, it seems the front LSD is the culprit. It’s set so open that it might as well not be there, which is very bad for a 4WD car and kills handling a bit. So aside from the front LSD needing a lot of tightening up, fast car.

Suzuka: 2:20.386
Comments: Makes mince meat out of the S curves, but barely hits 140mph on the straights.

Feedback: The times speak for themselves, this is a fast car and actually one of the fastest in the group, yet it’s a good 40bhp down on some of the other competitors. If this Impreza were to be given a power boost up to 370bhp and given a bit of ballast to keep it at 490PP, it would blow everything into the weeds.

Suzuka: 2:21.102
Comments: Felt some high-speed understeer here, I suspect the wing is set too strong.

Feedback: The power definitely leaves it at a disadvantage compared to the higher power GT86’s here. Less downforce and more power would definitely improve the car and bring it closer to the others in terms of lap time. Aside from that, great tune.

Suzuka: 2:25.080
Comments: It’s as playful as a puppy. Can I keep it? Can I? Can I?

Feedback: Considering this is an MR2 from 1986, this is actually a really good car. It’s not the fastest car here but what did you expect with 285bhp? Old MR2’s are infamous for their handling so to find this tune has turned the mini-axe murderer into a little puppy is amazing. I wouldn’t change a thing on this car, it hasn’t won the contest unfortunately, but it’s won a few hearts.

Comments: A constant battle with understeer. The brakes worked, but late braking wasn’t an option.

Suzuka: 2:22.771
Comments: Had a lot of trouble with turn one, probably because of the brakes being pushed to their limits.

Feedback: I feel mean for saying this, but there is a lot of room for improvement with this car. The brakes aren’t very effective even when set to extremes, but this isn’t krenkme’s fault, it’s the car’s. There’s plenty of power but the car is too heavy to use it as an advantage, less weight and less power would actually make this car a good bit faster overall. The LSD isn’t doing its job very well and should be set very tight and the car occasionally feels like murdering me with uncontrollable oversteer, perhaps because I called it fat.

Feedback: Overall this GT86 is a solid package. Easy to drive, plenty of grip and it’s still playful when you want it to be. I would rather take this GT86 to Tsukuba than my own, but I’d keep my own for Suzuka, since the extra power and weight advantage does wonders in the high-speed portions of the track.

Suzuka: 2:25.035
Comments: Never got a chance to use 6th gear and after 5 laps my best time ended up being the one I set on the first lap. Apologies.

Feedback: The gearbox is far too long. Not using 6th at Suzuka pretty much means it’ll never properly use 6th unless it gets taken to SSR7 or Route X. With a shorter final, this 300ZX could’ve probably been the fastest car down the first straight. Aside from that, great job making the Z32 turn corners without being a total pain. That takes some effort.

Suzuka: 2:20.598
Comments: After 140mph, the acceleration suddenly slows to a crawl. The work of short ratios in a car that has its peak power at 6,200rpm but still revs to 8,000+ anyway.

Feedback: The GD Impreza’s (all 3 versions) have one major problem and it’s where they make their peak power. It’s at 6,500rpm. Why is this bad? Because the car will happily rev to over 9000rpm before it hits the limiter. That’s 2,500rpm that is essentially useless. If this Impreza had a longer overall gearbox, it would probably be a lot faster at Suzuka.

Feedback: A top tune, there’s nothing really to improve on it settings-wise. I would suggest removing the wing and investing some PP into power or more weight reduction, since the wing isn’t that useful at this level. Otherwise yeah, another great tune from the man with the fish.

Suzuka: 2:21.685
Comments: The Impreza shows off its more oversteery nature at Suzuka, particularly at high speeds.

Feedback: This is definitely not a car you can pick up and use immediately if you’re not used to the way old Impreza’s handle. This makes it a joy to drive for seasoned Impreza drivers, but a pain in the butt for drivers who may not be used to a proper, raw 4WD car without electronic gadgets. Can’t really fault the tune here, it’s the car that is causing the trouble.

Suzuka: 2:23.589
Comments: I’m actually stumped as to why this Silvia isn’t at least doing 22’s.

Feedback: The S15 is quite difficult to tune to a competitive state, given that it’s a slower and not as grippy as an RX-7 or GT86. For what it is, this Silvia has done well to at least keep up. It’s not a bad tune at all, it’s the car that is letting the tune down. A solid effort.

Suzuka: 2:22.460

Feedback: This tune is an online tune adapted to meet the 490PP limit, so giving feedback here would be pointless as it wouldn’t serve any use. All I can say is the obvious “it would’ve done better with settings made for offline use”.

Feedback: A good car all-round. It’s very hard to find any faults in the tune. If I had to be seriously nitpicky, I’d say the wing feels a bit useless at this level and the car would benefit more from having those spare PP’s put into more power or less weight.

Suzuka: 2:23.207

Feedback: In a lap time shootout between an Impreza and a Lancer, the Impreza will always win, which is why it’s not surprising that this old Lancer hasn’t put in blistering lap times. What is surprising though, is how it handles and how it actually puts up a fight against the other cars in this class. This Lancer Evolution II, a car that is usually plagued with understeer, is handling as sweetly as an Impreza of the same age. This Lancer is fun to drive and I wouldn’t change a thing on it.

Feedback: It’s hard to give myself feedback (that’s why I have you people :P) but I think the Tsukuba gearbox could do with being a bit longer to suppress some of that wheelspin. With the Suzuka gearbox the car feels grippier even though it’s just the gearbox that has changed. The rest of the car feels good, but a bit too playful at times.

Suzuka: 2:21.063
Comments: Feels a bit sluggish in 6th gear, otherwise a very strong car here.

Feedback: Since it’s basically a Celica Wagon, this Caldina will surprise non-believers with its sports car-like handling. There is a bit of extra push mid-corner that I can blame on the 50/50 torque distribution and the lazy front LSD, but that is easily fixed by anyone who tries the car and I assume XDesperado set it up like that to keep the Caldina’s character intact, which is cool.

Thanks for testing that thing. Though I'm starting to get confused now…may just be me feeling sick, but DaDog tells me it has tons of grip, Cy or someone else told me it was loose, and you're telling me it's a Gymkana car up until you drive it like one. I guess I'll have to look into the gearbox then…I knew I left something out…

And Roj…if the thing drifts wide when you drive it "like it's from the Block", then…how about not driving it like it's from the Block? Problem semi-solved?
