Thanks for testing that thing. Though I'm starting to get confused now…may just be me feeling sick, but DaDog tells me it has tons of grip, Cy or someone else told me it was loose, and you're telling me it's a Gymkana car up until you drive it like one. I guess I'll have to look into the gearbox then…I knew I left something out…

And Roj…if the thing drifts wide when you drive it "like it's from the Block", then…how about not driving it like it's from the Block? Problem semi-solved?

i guess it is driver dependant , some people might consider a car loose more faster then others , this beeing irrellavant to the drivers skill class , it is just how a diver like the settings

edit : whats a Gymkana car ?

Yeah I know. :P My fastest lap didn't have much drifting anyway.

Yeah, one person's idea of grippy might be someone else's idea of loose.
A fancy way of saying 4WD drift car. Popularized by Ken Block.

Use the good ol' power slide on Tsukuba. Throw the DMWD hard into the corner and hammer the throttle. Whole car should be moving sideways in a great 4 wheel drift with the rear end rotating faster than the front. As the car starts to point at the corner exit drop off throttle for a split second so the tires catch traction then hammer it again and let the front end pull you out. The two hairpins at Tsukuba have a slight camber to the inside edge of the corner so if you get your entry right you can use that to help swing you through the turns. Of course if you get it wrong you end up going sideways into the sand...

I had a few moments where I got your DMWD sideways, but it wasn't as smooth or as easy to initiate like in Onboy's Impreza, so I drove it normally for my hot laps.

looks like I'm taking my 490pp off of its diet and gonna take it our and feed it a whole bunch of steroids to beef her up and make her more powerful;.......

490PP Testing (Incomplete)

Hermanvongerman - PSN: jontank5
HelloRoj KiA HappyFun itchiban – Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STI ‘10

Feedback: The times speak for themselves, this is a fast car and actually one of the fastest in the group, yet it’s a good 40bhp down on some of the other competitors. If this Impreza were to be given a power boost up to 370bhp and given a bit of ballast to keep it at 490PP, it would blow everything into the weeds.

I tried running a "undieted version" when testing and could not match times at Tsukuba so decided the "Weight watchers version" suited my driving style better...... I am now going back and wearing in another one, so that I can tinker with power / weight ratios to see if can gain any time on both tracks.

Thank you for posting the result, and testing the car, great feedback, good to see I'm on the right track with the tune.

FYI 490 pp tuners, you will have to wait for me to finish testing another 8 cars before I post everyones results, and can't do it at the moment as have a massive hangover from partying waaay to hard last night... should be good to do some tests in 4 or so hours

I thank you very much - Care to drop me some feedback?

will do in a few days trying to get the times posted then going to spend the rest of the time driving the cars a bit more and give feed back to each driver... they might be short or they might be long depends...

Much appreciated.

I thought i was good at 4WD drifting but this is extreme :) I just hammer it and hope for the best

Unfortunately my theory seems to be much better than my actual driving.

When I get it right it is a tremendous rush. When I get it wrong I suddenly develop Turrets.:D

550PP results posted. Once SolidSnake and Ugabugaz have accepted my friend requests, I'll finish off testing the group.

Hope my comments are useful, all comments on my comments are welcomed.

I won't be able to accept your request because mt my ps3 can't get online :(

You're gonna have to run nh setups on cars you already have, or buy them

Since I read that Maccer_42 tested your 490PP car…how about getting him to share it for you and just redirect the spam of FRs to him? :dopey:

wait confused looking at your setups.. you have 2 mazdas and chevey... but you have pics of a subbie for one of the mazda tunes or something...

wait confused looking at your setups.. you have 2 mazdas and chevey... how many cars did you enter... i have you down for all 3 but i only see 2...

No, it's just the setting sheets glitching up on him when he posted the pics for the settings. The tune that is under the banner is correct, it's just the name that's wrong. It's these 2.

490PP is this tune.

k well i am breaking one in right now will break in the other two tomorrow and put them up on share by the end of the day. anyone having to test SolidSnake7735's tunes, please send me a friend request his tunes are not on share i am hosting them for him.

550PP Results
All cars were tested for 5 laps, using DS3 controller.
Onboy123
Tsukuba: 57.213 (+0.1)
Suzuka: 2:11.484 (+1.9)

Comments: This is an STi that would do Bunta Fujiwara proud! Actually, in the way it "teaches the driver" it's actually similar to his son's panda. The only possible "not so gushing" comment is that if you slide the rear on entry, it can take a while for the chassis to regain composure, however this could also be seen as a lesson to the driver about being more discipled with the weight transfer.

Expecting it to fun, yet limited by its origins as a shopping trolley, I was in for a surpise when the lap times came through. At Tsukuba it is up with the "big boys" of the LFAs and HSCs, which is amazing. The high speed front grip is incredible, the sweeping turns of Suzuka could be taken flat where most other cars needed a small lift. Kudos for designing gearing which works great at both tracks. This car is so well balanced and adjustable, anything is possible. Brilliant.

Thanks for the test mate. 👍 To be honest with you, I was expecting for this thing to be left behind by a good few seconds when compared with the lead LFAs and HSCs and the like. I'm not sure about where it came in your test as I just can't be arsed to look through, but beating the odd LFA on Tsukuba when the car was tuned on Suzuka, things aren't as bad as I was expecting.

One thing, if you get it sideways into a corner and find that the car needs a while to stick again…Yea, it rotates when you lift off the throttle, grips/pushes a bit on throttle, quite why I didn't bother to tune that out or refine it, I don't know, but it basically means you need to coast the corners and only gun it when you have enough confidence in it to not understeer into the sand.

I've added my testing for ugabugaz. Dude, if you could run your car in completely, it would be a big help to other testers- it was gaining hp on me.

Folks should be aware that tuning sheets do not work when sharing cars. All 3 tuning sheets will come across with have the settings that were on the car when it was shared.

Also, Ryangt,
7) Ballast of 5% is allowed
I'm really sorry but I didn't see this rule until now, so my 520PP entry is invalid (I'd appreciate if testers would still be able to post times and comments if they would be so kind, and just not count it in the scoring).

I'll give the car over to Bob tomorrow. A couple of Indy runs and it should be nicely settled at 200-300 miles. Sorry about not having it fully broken in.

I saw your comments - Pretty much spot on for Tsukuba. It felt a little bouncy to me but I just didn't have enough time to refine it to where it would be great on both tracks.

The car was tuned on Suzuka so I'm glad that's where it excelled. The oversteer you mention is simply a preference of mine. I dunno where you found the understeer, then again I didn't thoroughly test the car. Only up to the point where I was satisfied with the overall performance. Being really honest I tuned at Suzuka and hoped for the best on Tsukuba. Should have spent more time on the gearing at Tsukuba I suppose.

its fine, also my fault i should of looked over your tune better, if you want you can fix it quickly since no one has given you feed back.

Right, now that Ryan has submitted his times, I think we should call an end to testing and mark that up as a very good Shootout for me. I see no need for any further testing.

... What?? ...

 For the 520PP sessions, you mean.

And I also noticed that I'm in the lead for jollygreen's test at the moment! I think that's good enough for results mate, you can stop now.
