Yes, but note the "Not really a road car" bit. Yes, PD treat it as a road car, and it has road car in its name and it was a production car, but there is not one "road car" I know of with as much downforce as it does.
Ryangt, ban it. Ban it now.

sigh .... you of little knowledge ... you need to widen you're horizon and get into the extreme tuning scene

In regards to the R390 building and licensing one car for driving on public roads hardly qualifies as production. If it did then I'd be tuning a ZZ II which is easy to get into 550PP and will stomp on just about anything else at that PP.:mad:

It's not in GT5, and it's not available with it stock. :P But Christ, just how tall is that wing?!

Aw. That was my second choice to tune. Is that going to get banned now too?

I think if you chose a car that was in the spirit of things and not one that was "LOL HARDCORE THE FASTEST ONE YES", there wouldn't be any need to ban anything.

I think the OP said that this one is scored purely on time? Driver's choice, looks, feel and spirit of things all seem a bit irrelevant.

If this was what TCV promised, there wouldn't be anything like this anyways. I think, anyway. But not one person thinks the same, so someone out there tuning for this could be only valuing the lap time and status a win would bring. Being ranked #1 is all they care about, and they will do it at the cost of being sporting, driving fun, all that goes out the window when a tangible win (something like lap times and pure performance) is at stake.

Like Onboy said, it's not sporting. If you want to win by any means, that's fine, but bare in mind that you won because of the car you picked and not because of your tuning.

Yes, but this is still, at the heart of things, a tuning shootout. If merely slapping a load downforce on front and rear and then giving the engine as much power as the limits will allow will blitz the competition, then yes, good for you, you've won. But it's a fairly shallow and cheap way to win, really. Like using a X1 for A-spec. I'd take the punt that all the testers would know that, in actuality, the victor is the one in second, who stuck with a sporting entry that was simply tuned to the best of ones ability.

Anyway, why are we ranting again? It's not like someone has entered one of these anyways, right? Or at least, for the moment…

Just personal opinion here but I class any car that only one or two copies of were ever built as concept cars and not real production cars.

Now just a thought but has anyone given the current CotW a go at 520PP? Thinking it might actually be a contender there...:D

It should be good. In theory. It's too oversteery stock, and has those narrow little tyres which doesn't help the case. But the power/weight ratio of that thing at full power and minimum weight is shocking. To say the least.

I just singed up yesterday in the 520pp bracket just to see if I could get it to work. Unsure at the moment :indiff:

Ryan, could you put everyone's PSN in the OP beside their names? It would make the adding process easier. 👍

Hey. I didn't make the rules. Rules are black and white. If it is open, someone will enter a car that can be on top. This competition was set up with the only score being lap time. If people will be seen as "not in the spirit of things" for building the fastest rocket ship possible, then why keep score at all. I am not a fan of one lap time attacks. I would prefer the scoring mentioned in the TCV thread. When racing online it's not just about the single fastest lap. It is also about driveability over a number of laps, a car that handles well so that you can be fast in traffic, etc.

Ok reading through the pages... god you people write a lot lol. somethings have come to my attention.

1) the R390 debate, i have added the rule that there is no front downforce allowed on the cars, this should take care of that + any other cars that fall into that category but still leave it open to concepts.

2) the drivers pick, it is sound like it would make the match up a bit more fun so i will add it.

3) yes Roj i will add everyones psn now.

Ok everything has been updated please double check my work, if anything is a miss or confusing tell/ask me and i will fix/help you.

One thing to fix:

7) There will be a Drivers choice that you will pick. Testers will pick 2 cars they liked the most in their class. Your top drivers choice gets 10 points the 2nd drivers choice gets 5 points, the tuners with the highest points will get a prize for best car. The choice can be based on driving feel, color, make of the car, or w/e you heart pleases.

Driver's choice was more based around the idea of…well, the driver's choice in terms of how the car drives, so leaving it so open for things like colour and make of car seems to be slightly missing the point. Just my thoughts.

Though that doesn't mean that, should I suddenly decide to test, a R35 which drives very well would be having a driver's choice award granted to it any time soon.

fixed it a bit.

On a side note does anyone know where i can find a mp3 of Mr. Clarkson yelling power? i want to use it in my power and politics presentation that i have tomorrow.

Just YouTube Clarkson shout POWERRR or something. And it was May who does that the most, not Clarkson, he just makes it seem like moar power (or POWERRR) is best.

Yea but how do you get the actual clip into an mp3 and then trim it down for just that... i have ****** editing skills ask Roj about my "CGI" skills with MS paint lol

Thank you for addressing this. This rule also took out the Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car. Good call.

Count me in as a tuner for all three categories.

Try mp3searchy.com or maybe soundwave.com. not sure, but they might have what you're looking for :dopey:

R35's are effectively banned from the shootout. They all have 2 units of front downforce.

Mad skills bro. Mad skills.

You'll need a music editing suite for that. There's a few free ones out there.

that is way to much work for my lazy ass XD this is a power point presentation i am not going full blown on it.

I believe the GTAcademy has no downforce doesn't it?

That would fall under tuner car because its produced by PD themselves.

I believe the GTAcademy has no downforce doesn't it?

Cars without adjustable downforce will not show any downforce figures in the settings, but once you put an adjustable wing on, you'll see what the stock dowforce figures are. For the R35 this figure is 2/2. Common sense would dictate that both GT Academy versions would still have downforce, as they are just repainted SpecV's.
