Anti-Americanism Erupts Like a Volcano in Japan
http://watchingamerica.com/News/54854/anti-americanism-erupts-like-a-volcano-in-japan/

I cant believe people honestly believe we have a close ally in them. A commercial ally is all we have.

The whole Japanese being pissed about Toyota being put under the light by Congress is stupid. With GM and Ford hurting bad, and with Toyota luckily having major safety issues at the moment, it was only logical that the American government helps out the American car manufacturers by grilling a foreign auto maker. And since our government has a stake in GM, it only made even more sense for Congress to grill Toyota.

I bet if Ford and GM were kicking ass in Japan while the Japanese car companies were hurting, and Ford or GM have a major issue that needed recalls, the Japanese Diet will be grilling Ford or GM.

As for Mexico helping in Katrina, thanks. Don't mind those who can't see that help is being given to them due to their arrogance.

And I'm all in with Japan being more independent. In this day and age, and with the way economic and political world has changed, the alliance we have with Japan has to be lessened. Or at least changed so the alliance can better withstand the current and future events.

Can't you believe that? Those jerks hate us for no good reason?

Did you even read the article?

The Japanese believe it was extremely unfair for the United States to make such a big fuss out of the Toyota incident, including making Toyota frontman Akio Toyoda apologize and put up with harsh criticism at American Congressional hearings.

Hundreds of thousands of Japanese investors who lost every penny after buying toxic American bonds didn’t even hear a word of apology from Uncle Sam.

The exchange rate between the yen and the dollar is completely controlled by the U.S.

Japan unconditionally purchases hazardous beef from America.

Japan is not allowed to sell American bonds that were purchased because of a trade surplus.

Japanese authorities can’t even protest when American soldiers rape local school girls.

Can you believe that? Those Japanese jerks hate us for no reason again!!!

Since you have failed to read and this is going on a vicious circle I will answer you with my previous words...

The reality is there is still a lot of resentment from Japanese people towards the US and hopefully our aid helps change some opinions. I believe their resentment was justified for the Atomic Bombs and I have never heard of a country that is happy from having a US military base in their land. Those bases are a direct effect from us winning the War.

I will no longer answer to you so feel free to reply away. Somehow you always reply to me in any thread.

See ^^ article your quoted but didn't read? You really have failed to read. From the article.

After WWII, Japan as a defeated country was able to focus all its energy on developing its industrial sector, and subsequently achieved huge success as an industrial megapower, with the United States as the biggest market of its manufacturing industry. For this very reason, Japan enjoys a trade surplus of hundreds of billions of Japanese yen with America every year. Naturally anxious about Japan’s massive dollar reserve, the United States tries to control the exchange rate between the dollar and the yen in every way possible. What’s more, America demands that Japan use its foreign exchange reserve to purchase American national bonds. Naturally speaking, Japan should have the liberty to dispose of these bonds, as it purchased them with concrete money; however, Washington keeps a keen eye and exerts great pressure on the Japanese government whenever it spots the tendency of Japan to sell these bonds. The United States has made a considerable fortune by controlling the exchange rate between the dollar and the yen, and also controlling Japanese possession of American national bonds.

Reports showed that American soldiers had raped local schoolgirls in Japan, stirring up intense anger among Japanese people. However, according to the U.S.-Japan Security Treaty, Japanese ports do not have the right to reject American warships upon entry; American soldiers enjoy extraterritoriality rights in Japan, meaning that even if they commit a crime in Japan, the local police have no right to arrest, detain or convict them. Similar rape cases have happened numerous times, resulting in consistent protestations from the Japanese, especially the people of Okinawa.

The Japanese still have a lot more to be furious about; Washington asks that Japan promptly pay for all the expenses of American forces in Japan in order to “guarantee the forces’ ability to protect Japanese security;” these expenses include living expenses, salaries, water and electricity fees, troop transfer fees, facility fees, etc., totaling over 200 billion Japanese yen every year. The United States is also asking Japan for communications fees and infrastructure fees for a recent transfer of some troops to Guam. According to the Yomiuri Shimbun, the United States has recently made a “request” of Japan, “hoping” that Japan would cover the living and medical expenses of the 130,000 American soldiers in Afghanistan. That would scrap 2,000 billion yen from Japan. With America doing what it is doing now, Japanese fury will undoubtedly explode like lava from a volcano.

So no. it's not because we kicked their 🤬. It's still because of how we treated them.

You still haven't explain to me how I missed the important message from an US punk rock band from CA named NOFX with members Fat Mike, El Hefe, Eric Melvin, Erik Sandin have a song called Kill All the White Man is a proof of resentment from the Japanese?

I studied, worked, lived in Japan.

You mention that you are also paid by them. I'm amazed how someone that lived in Japan failed to see the resentment towards US people. I was there for 3 months and saw it. The attitude is mutual, they are no angels. Remember who hit first in WWII (Pearl Harbor). I never said they are not justified!!! sure we have screwed them as much as they have. I hope you noticed that Japanese are really racist.

The white man call himself civilized
Cause he know how to take over
The white man come to pillage my village
Now he tell me I have to bend over

He rape my people as he rape my country
Everything I love and cherish,
He try to take away
We will be rid of him,
Soon come the day.

Trust me that is the feeling of many countries toward us, if you don't believe ask Japan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam and many more.

I once traveled with a black man in TN and we were refused service at a gas station. Have you seen how Japanese tourist were treated at the JFK? New Yorker hates tourists as must as Japanese hate tourists. But I am sure they treat their tourists a lot better than we treat ours. We are all racist. American too. But that's not what we are talking about, are we? Or did I miss an important message again.

Do you want to see when American hits first? If you think it's justified hatred to Japan is because they hit us first in Pearl Harbor. Read that link and see why the world justified hatred toward us..

I never said Americans are not racist; I don't considered my self one. Is not just TN is also Georgia and many more. In Georgia I was refused service in many places because my wife was Mexican, although she is white skinned Mexican. I have no hatred towards Japanese..

I make my vote for "nyyellowtaxi" troll of the Year!!!!👍

This as gone to long, the thread is of DLC not international affairs.

I did read the article>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Great, now we have that established. What we are talking about are individuals. Some people may have mistreated you during your stay in Japan doesn't mean Japanese people resent the US. And especially not because we kicked their 🤬 in WWII. Just like you were refused service in TN doesn't mean the whole TN are rednecks. But how's that related to what we are talking about again?

If education your stubborn mind is an act of trolling, I am more than happy to put on a tux and give a speech while accepting that trophy.

My last word to you. Open your eyes, the world is not according to the way you "think". You didn't even read your citation before you cite it. What do you want me to say.

Great! You have proofed the US band NOFX resented American and probably the people who listen to this band too.

This is the problem you state that I didn't read the article as a FACT. There is no way for you to know that... I did read the Article. The world as many different points of view and lets keep it at that. You won't change my mind and I won't change yours.. And I was never refuse service in TN, in fact I have never even been in that state. That shows your lack of reading comprehension, it was Georgia.

Honestly I can't keep up. First you said no foreign aid from other countries during Katrina which was proof wrong in a flash by other people from over the world.

Then you claimed all Japanese resent US by showing a YouTube video from a California band which has a very important link that I missed.

Then you tried to justified they hate us because of the articled. What you didn't noticed is that article was translated from a Hong Kong newspaper (another language I can read), which show how US government mistreated Japan since WWII. In many ways, their hate is justified.

Then you claimed they are all raciest because you were mistreated during your World Cup...

Sure, it's ALL their fault. Why can't they be happy because we sent help after earthquake? Have a wonderful life in The Neverland, a life I will never understand.

Couldn't take that writer seriously after he compared Toyota's president being at congressional hearings to dropping the bomb.

ON TOPIC GUYS! But I think it is a pretty decent idea, I don't care what all those people who think giving to charity needs to be totally selfless say. Money is money and attaching motives to something like this really has no negative effects. Why not think of it this way if you are going to get so butt hurt by the idea.

Donate X amount and recieve X as our thank you for your contribution.

This is a brilliant idea. It cost nothing but time to just model the cars and then sell them. Tons of people would buy them. If they wanted they could even put some Asian tracks such as okayama or shanghai. I would certainly buy

Whats up with donating money to the cause and not expect anything in return, do people not donate for the sake of donating and try help someone out anymore??

Im sure the last thing on their minds right now is developing dlc...

i agree, however in states of disaster donations may end up lost and mis-used. Even great charities such as the red cross may lose money to corruption.

Wouldn't a Japanese company giving aid in Japan be better?

American soldiers enjoy extraterritoriality rights in Japan, meaning that even if they commit a crime in Japan, the local police have no right to arrest, detain or convict them.

Let me clear this, since I am in the military. This is called a Status of Forces Agreement, aka SOFA. A SOFA is a bi-lateral agreement between nations when one nation's military forces goes into another country for training/assistance/mobilization/stationing of forces/etc, basically any time a foreign nation's forces goes into another country for anything other than to wage war with the other country's forces. The US has SOFA agreements all over the world.

Other countries also have SOFAs with the United States. For example, the Canadian Army has soldiers stationed all over the US under the NORAD program. Those Canadian are covered under a SOFA between Canada and the US. If they commit a crime in the US, they get prosecuted by the Canadian military. I have seen that in the National Training Center in California when a Canadian Marine stole and destroyed a US Army Humvee. In the end there was NOTHING the US Army or US government could do, the Canadian soldier was released to the Canadian military.

Generally if a crime is committed in the line of duty, as in the case of the Canadian soldier above, or the US soldiers who ran over two school girls with a tank in Korea, the soldier's nation's military retains the jurisdiction to punish the crime. Crimes committed off duty are prosecuted by the host nation's judicial system. When in Korea we had one soldier (who was a pain in the ass and a problem child) who stabbed a Korean guy in a bar. The Korean needed hospitalization, and the US soldier went to Korean court and was sentenced to 18 months in a Korean jail. He was also discharged from the US military with a Less Than Honorable discharge.

The SOFA between Japan and the US covers not only US forces stationed in Japan, but anytime a Japan NSDF boat comes into a US port (which they do for training all the time) all the Japanese sailors are covered under that SOFA.

That is why as a military member when you go into a foreign country you spend a good amount of time getting briefed on local customs, local laws, and basically told over and over that you are acting as an ambassador to the US in a foreign country, and that all your actions will reflect not only upon you but upon the US military, the US government and the overall image of Americans overseas. The vast majority of military members when in a foreign land behave as they should, respecting the local culture and customs, but there is always that bottom 2% that will bring the rest a bad name. That, unfortunately, is unavoidable.

Wikipedia has more on SOFAs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Status_of_forces_agreement

On the Pakistani floods, the USA sent a large military contingent into Pakistan to help with delivering aid. My own unit spent three months there, we flew our Chinook helicopters all over the Northeast of Pakistan, delivering food and building supplies, carrying local produce to their markets and evacuating wounded to hospitals. The Pakistanis were very grateful. When we left we were relieved by a USMC helicopter unit.

Ultimately the point is, that if GT fans are so eager to help they'd give to Red Cross. At the Same time however if ANYTHING can be used as incentive to help people then I say do it! I don't think it's evil nor self-centered to come up with such an Idea.....For example LIVESTRONG wristbands sold for 1dollar and proceeds went to cancer research! They became the in thing and sold millions! No one complained about that. So what's the big moral issue some of you are having?

As for a prssible DLC, I would buy it. And I have already donated $50 to the Red Cross, on top of the $12 from my pay check that goes to the Red Cross every month.

It's a great idea, but ask yourself this...

Did anyone suggest this idea when 230,000 died in Haiti?

Charity shouldn't JUST go to countries that make video games.

That's all.

Pd are a money making company, they would not profit out of this so I doubt they would do it

It's just normal - they're running a business. Wake up, gaming companies aren't different and they shouldn't be.

Good God... are you really THAT ignorant? Have you never heard of the BILLIONS in corporate charity spent worldwide every year? Try READING a paper, try watching real news (not Fox!), try buying a magazine now and again.

Doh!

Anyway, charity IS good business. It gives the company that does it a stronger public appearance, a better 'face' to show the world, and raises the approval for it and its products. And that is good business.

Bottom line is, what would PD LOSE from doing this? Were we going to go out and BUY these cars from them anyway? Not a chance. But I'd happily donate to an online DLC. Hell I'd donate even if there WEREN'T a car at the end of it.

Red Cross will get my money. But if PD want to get in on the deal, I'll be happy to give them some, too. If they want to throw in a car or two as a 'thank you', that's fine, but not essential.

We are always there to help, and yet, some stupid ignorant people think that Mexico is filed with donkeys, and guys sleeping around.

Nevertheless, this is really cool, my country helping as much as they can worldwide.

A group of earthquake recovery experts just left for Japan yesterday. Those guys travel all around the world helping earthquake victims. They are called "The Mexican Moles".

Obviously, when it came to the USA we were more involved, since we are neighbors, each others number one economic partner, and believe it or not, friends too.

Also very proud of these guys, of course...

Hmm,

Kinda obvious one would be to have Sendai Highlands race tracks featured as DLC...

I'd buy it.. it would be a nice gesture, but will it happen.. no.

Forza did it for Haiti (albeit they got money out of it as well).
