i think EA made it so that it would be very expensive for ferrari to be in other games. of course Microsoft isnt exactly in financial trouble so ferrari is in project gotham. Sony just got finnished with a lawsuit with Immersion plus gta SA has just been rated AO.

GTA:SA for the PC has been rated AO... the one on PS2 hasn't changed it's rating as it's unable to be modified (with Hot Coffee)... I'd imagine that this might be a good thing for Sony as for instance you cannot buy SA for PC in Australia now.

you can modify the PS2 version for Hot Coffee. Gamespot went to work and managed to pull it out. The PS2 version is in the process of getting yanked from the shelves.

I've often thought about how cool that would be - then I get to thinking...

Why on earth would I want to put a DS2 in my real car, when I just dropped a chunk of change to get a Wheel for my Playstation?

WFT?!?

UMP
HAHA!! Didn't think of that since I don't have a DFP.. Funny though..

"According to the maker of the game, “some car makers want more money to be featured than all the rest of the car makers put together”. Sadly, his mobile went dead before I could confirm it was indeed the Eyeties. Technology, eh? So I rang a Ferrari spokesman who explained that his company was fantastically litigious and protective of the cars, the racers and even the noises they make. And that they already have a deal with EA Games. Well, that’s complete and utter madness, because as a result my nine-year-old is growing up wanting a Honda NSX."

Haha. Madness indeed!
Yes, the really funny part is that it's true. GT is a very big franchise, and it's growing. Those children who are budding car enthusiasts are more likely to develop their impressions of certain brands and models from a game like GT4 than they are from Need For Speed. Ferrari had better watch out, they may find their sales dropping drastically in about 40 years when the GT generation can afford one...and choose to buy the NSX-equivalent

NSX-R
Well I don't really get his point. Sometimes, traction is not accurate. Sometimes, body-roll is realistic. Is he saying GT is semi-real?
I think he's saying that, with a couple of small exceptions like the CSL, the game is pretty damn realistic.

yeah. NSX's have all the performance qualities asscociated with supercars except overwhelming power... it corners as well if not faster than most supercars but it just cant keep up once it hits the straightaway if the gap hasnt grown enough.... :'(

if you’re planning on going to the Ring this summer, get the game first. You’ll save yourself a fortune and stand a much smaller chance of being killed to death.
 👍
Funny review :)

..."But the best thing about the game is the inclusion, for the first time, of the Nürburgring. Last year I spent a couple of days trying to get round this fearsome 13-mile track in a Jaguar diesel in less than 10 minutes."

Hahahah! I remember seeing that show when it aired! Couldn't believe he could'nt do it until his last attempt..and even then, he 'barely' got under 10minutes...think it was something along the lines of 9'mins & 50-some seconds...

Last year I spent a couple of days trying to get round this fearsome 13-mile track in a Jaguar diesel in less than 10 minutes. In the game I shaved two minutes off that time by using an Aston Martin DB9. And I didn’t have to spend a night in a bierkeller, singing to oompah music.

He's funny :) :).

Anyone seen the Top Gear episode in which JC drives an Aston Martin to a skiing resort in Switzerland, while the 2 other guys take a plane? Hilarious.

I like the episode where mr. JC drives the Aston DB9 from the studio to Monaco (I believe) to a coffee shop and the other guys take a train and lose the race.

Wasn't it 10 minutes dead ?l

He ended up making it in 9'59.

Ow , sorry. Would it be real or faked?

Supposedly it was real, he commented about how the producer didn't believe it either at first until they checked the camera timestamps. My favorite quote is this one:

This game would only be more real if a big spike shot out of the screen and skewered your head every time you crashed.

I'm actually very surprised that he gave GT4 a good review! I always imagined that he would say really hypocritical things like "a game is incapable of replicating real life driving physics" etc etc. I now have much more respect for Jeremy Clarkson. I'd like to see a review on Top Gear. I thouroughly enjoyed watching Tiff's review on Fifth Gear. And that drifting on Top Gear last night was awesome, pity it didn't last very long.

Thanks for finding this, Gabkicks! 👍

I like Jeremy as a person and how he thinks, he is a good driver also! I wish Ferrari would wake up! :ill:

I thought so too, well if Mr Clarkson says its good it obviously is, considering he is miserable about most things

yeah. i just saw the top gear episode from sunday. I was very suprized :). how much damn wheel lock does the manaro have stock? it looked like 45° at least! most D1 cars have 45-65.

anyone who didnt see last nights top gear can watch it again tonight at 11.20 on BBC2. i think ill be taping it this time, excellent show, as was last week, and the week before.. and..... you get my drift (no pun) im sad its the end of the series :guilty:

According to Sabine, he is 80% lacking in driving talent. She put down a 9'12" on her first try with the same diesel that jeremy put a 9'59" down with after two days. Made me laugh when she said that he thinks he's "michael schumacher from britain maybe? but I think he just....isn't."

Sabine Schmidt, she's a german clubman racer (I think) who is like one of the fastest people round the nurb'. She was on Top Gear in one of the 2004 episodes and she also appeared in one a couple of weeks ago. I think she also does a "nurby taxi service" when she takes people round the 'ring in a M5 and scares the crap out of them lol.

So it's her home track, of course she would be faster!

Of course, but it also means she's a good driver and she doesn't think jeremy is as good as he thinks he is. It's just interesting to see a perspective from somebody who doesn't care about his fame when evaluating his skill.
