Try, when the PS3 is in standby, holding the power button for about 5 seconds until you hear it do 2 beeps. This should completely reset the display settings and hopefully sort your issue when reconfigured...

Mine's at only about 20% in half an hour. 4th try...

Alistair, you're saying you clicked the right (->) option? My friend is pretty sure he did so too. I really don't know what I clicked during last update

Sorry for the late reply - been, erm....busy

Yeh I'm sure it was the right option, I hit the left first and it didn't seem to get me anywhere so I chose the right option.

Alistair

45 minutes later and still cant get the download going, it cuts offs in a few minutes. WTF??

Not even 1% after almost an hours :(

Those complaining about slow speeds be grateful is at least downloading

You will probably have better luck tomorrow as in will be night time in JPN and the sever wont be as buzy....

well, got the update but i have a question since I can't read Japanese: When you're selecting a race and you're on the menu of selecting normal/sim, tyres and all that, what is the second option? It wasn't there before the update..

You're probably right, but thats the thing, tomorrow when I get home is around the same time, so I may have the same issue again. I wanted to play this tonight, damn it!

Started about 2h ago and only have ~5%.
All I can say is that downloading an update almost does not use my connection... (downloaded GTAIV final trailer at the same time and it was using ~90% add other stuff and its about 5% left for PS3 (I think) ) I wonder is it due to servers traffic or due to connection to Japan ?
Will ask tomorrow some GT players from Japan if download took a long time for them or was it fast.

I thought the download was supposed to continue if it cut out?

Everytime it cuts out I restart it but it seems to start from the beginning. Is the meter just messed up or is it really starting over?

It's about 9am in Japan, i suspect traffic's quite high right now.

Yes it does seem to start over, although it did progress quicker second time round.

haha yeh i was disappointed with that. But still loving the new car additions.. Im panicking cos i dont know what cars to buy. Im like a kid in a sweet shop lol

Just completed the update (Ferrari's and money intact). Took about three hours and didn't get any errors. The online patch in December took me 10 attempts with a wired connection and a full day coming back to the PS3 and re-starting, can't believe it.:)

Alright, I've been seeing that some people say the resume feature works, and others say it doesn't. I've been attempting the resume feature quite a few times. I click the news section, some message comes up, and i hit ok, and then it prompts to start the download, but then I back out of the game and start over and try to update with the first prompt. Am I doing that correctly? Or am I better off just starting the updating in the news section prompt over and over?

Sorry that was confusing, but I'm frusterated!
