Well there are a lot of people driving the IS350 so we can up the power, but by how much do you guys think?

It doesn't need more power. 400hp is fine (almost too much imo), it just needs better weight balance. Which is why I suggested running a higher weight, ~1180kg. Then make the other cars a little heavier too, add about 15kg at least to all the other cars. That will keep them level from what I've tested with all the cars.

I haven't had much time to practice and setup my car for this track, but with the two outings I did do I had ran a 7:00.7xx, and two days later with the same setup I ran two more laps and hit just about the same at 7:00.8xx. I'm going to try the IS350 and Garaiya next on my Monday session, but can you Seth & Roscko lap my Subaru around the ring and see what my cars potential is around here? I'm sure I can get around 6:55's once I dial this thing in, but I haven't driven the ring in almost a year so I know I'm not going to be hitting any 6:40's but I do want to see if my chassis is capable of it?

i'll give it a go when i get a chance. your using the standard subaru right? next couple of days i should get some track time in.

Actually I'm using the premium model as well as Gippone too. I would like to balance out the premium models 1st and then work to the standard models. I have plans for introducing some more premiem models for the series if te drivers want them on the grid?

They are. The bonafide GT300 premium cars are already included in the series, so I'm just as curious as you are lol

Did a 6:51 with 380hp 1165kg. (I added some more weight to it so it'd be at 50/50 distribution). It wasn't all the way broken in yet though, and I didn't add stage 3 engine to it. I only added turbo stage 3. That's all I think any of these cars need.

You could add an Audi R8 or a Vette RM, as they're in the real life SGT series in GT300 class, unless you specifically want the JDM cars.

Hmm that's something to think about there I didn't know that. My only thing is that I was using all the GT5 JGTC cars since there already closely balanced natural through the game, but I wouldn't mind voting them in if that's what people want. My goal is to give people the most serious racing experince that can be achieved through gtplanet & gt5.

I'm going to turn some practice laps now since I have a target time, thanks Seth!

Ok so my Le Mans setup was slowing me down big time! I defaulted the supension and weight balance setup and boom I was running 1:53's with mad room for improvement. I should be around 6:51 - 50's flat by the end of my next practice session.

ok so i'll be able to run a bunch of laps tonight (i think)

what kind of weight and power did you guys decide on for the cars?

For the most part we are still at the same reg's except for maybe adding some weight to the RX-7's since everyone agrees they are a bit quicker. I still have to run the IS350 and Garaiya on Monday, so I'll know then.

rosckolove
how much weight? should i run it at 1200 kg?

Sure try 1200kg and work backwards until you think its fair. Do you have time Monday night to test these cars out on a regular track? I also want to include the Xanavi Nismo GTR's, Yellow Hat Supra, and Petronas SC430 for the JSTC series as well.

Don't worry I don't think the cars will be way off from each other, I think its the ring that makes them feel very unbalanced from each other. Ill send you a FR via PSN Network I have a spreedsheet to show you and Seth. I'll already have all the newly added cars closely matched before we run any tests. These JGTC cars come pretty well balanced naturally, and between all the other JGTC Series out there it's easy to compare car reg's. We ran GTRRL at these specs and that series was a hit.

So IRL the GT3 cars (R8 LMS, Vette RM) would weigh a little bit more but have around 410hp-430hp. 1300kg is the least the R8 LMS goes in terms of weight, so you could try the Vette at 1280kg and 420hp for both of the cars and see how fast they are compared to the others.

Ok well give them a try and see how it goes.

Ok so after a very very long time... I have come to a conclusion for 5 of the cars.

Lets ignore any lap times I previously stated.

I spent 2 minutes quick tuning each car. I ran 1 warm up lap, and 1 timed lap, then moved on to the next car. There IS room for improvement here, since I didn't really tune them, and only ran 2 laps with them. The car I was most familiar with, I ran last, so I wasn't as "accustomed" to it.

Lexus
- 6:45, great tire wear, handles great, needs more power. i think fully broken in with less on the "limiter" it should be fine.

Standard Subaru - 6:42, on par with the RX-7, easier to drive also

Premium Subaru - 6:45, I ran it with 370 hp. I suck at driving, and tuning AWD cars. So this was the lap with the most errors, and I was down on power. If you can drive/tune this, and had the recommended hp (maybe a bit more?), I think it could also run a 6:42 easy. plus you get the AWD out of the corners bonus.

Premium RX-7 - 6:42, It is fast, I ran this thing and my lap was no more/less consistent than the others for this test, its not very nice to the tires, and it goes crazy over bumps curbs and carousels... in a bad way, its prone to freak accidents.

Premium Garaiya - 6:43, great tire wear, not the easiest to drive (back end likes to step out, but its predictable) I messed up a bit, she will pay you back with low tire wear if you can keep her straight

My conclusion is whoever balanced these cars before, mostly did a great job. The Lexus does need more power, and the rest (that i have tested) I think are just fine.

From what I have read so far (besides my own testing) the cars seem close, and we should just bag the stupid Silvia. I would rather not hear that horrible noise go around the track anyway.

I just received the Celica while writing this up, can anyone lend me an MR-S? i'll test more later, hope this helps a bit.

Can someone join me for the rest of the testing... it was horribly boring by myself haha

Awesome roscko, ill be on late tonight for a test session and I can send to the MR-S tonight also. For this spotrace will leave the car selection the way it is, but for the season I was thinking about scraping the standards and just running the premium models with some detuned GT500 premium models. I will balance out the new chassis too so there won't be much testing to do. If your on tonight ill be there? I practice hardcore on Monday's & Tuesday's till 2am in the morning PST time.

I'm not a fan of the 'ring. It's too big of a track for solid testing. I run at Suzuka, SSR5 and Indy to test the equality of the cars. They're a good mix of twisty tracks, fast tracks and a combination of both in Suzuka.

Got a 6:40.050 in the Celica (Offline, Real Grip + Tire Wear ON) - Only change to suspension I did was reduce ARB.

Tested Premium Lexus - Was plenty fast, but handled like a pig - Didn't finish a lap.

Tested Premium Garaiya - A tad slower than Celica (Speed wise), Handled very similarly.

I just found that I don't have school tonight so I'm going to be on in 5 mins for some testing. Ill be in my lounge and checking gtplanet throughout the rest of the night.

Oh crap.. better practice some more.

Can you run that time with the online physics also?

i'll be on sometime tonight.

Hey is anyone down for a 6 lap sprint race here Saturday evening at same race time 4pm Pst?
