I haven't heard any reports of qualifying times, so I'll take this chance and tell you guys that your qualifying time will be done via a 3 lap "Grid Start" race. It's basically the same thing as the warmup lap and 2 timed laps in Free Run mode, except people can save the qualifying replay.

Thanks to IforceV8 for the suggestion.

Doing a 4-lapper allows the times to be recorded w/o going back and double checking the replay. You can quit the race on lap 4 at any point and save a replay.A incomplete race wont read like a normal replay on the results screen but its there so just hit save.

1:39.5 is doable ;) In the Celica its

wow I am slow, I barely get 1.45s in the RX-7 and just making 42s in the standard subaru,

I think I could hang in the 1.41s with draft, but if I lose it Ima so screwed,

I might have to rethink my (P) Subbie then and go back to the Celica even though I don't really like it all that much. After some fiddling I got down to 40.8 with the Subbie - which it seems won't make the cut.

There's certain cars that're better here. The RX7 is decent, but I don't have it broken in.

I would have used the RX-7 but at these spec's its seriously disadvantaged, had it been at the tweaked PURE spec's I would have jumped on it,

Uga & Bazzer, ill be on 10pm pst till 2am if need for a proper P1 Session'

Scratch that 9pm PST'

 you might want to finish that before this weekend, how boring does it get?

I like how it feels. Maybe it is a lil neutered though.

I dont know what its lacking at these spec's, but what ever it is its a lot,

I'll talk to Joe about the RX-7. I've heard a suggestion for reducing the weight, so we'll see how that goes.

The earliest any spec change may be is for Round 2 though. We'll see.

Couple of questions. Is that at 364 HP - 1180KG, do you have (Tire Wear + Real Grip = ON), and was this in a Lounge?

If yes to all, I have some practicing/tuning to do..

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, full tank too. It took me a while to get to that time; you really need to hit your marks. I was running high 40s on my first laps, and only after tweaking could I get into the 39s. Gearing is important.

Maybe in the practice room with Joe, I'll run some other cars to see if they compare. I never ran any cars before my selection, so idk which one is the fastest, honestly.

Also, now that we have different tire wear settings, which will we be running?

EDIT: Normal tire wear seems....well, normal, so I'm guessing that.

EDIT II: Just tested the '06 RX7 and ran a 1:39.9, with plenty of time left if you wanted to tune it. Gonna run some more cars now.

EDIT III: Took the Lexus out and ran a 1:39.9 on the first flying lap. Man, with a good tune, this car is a beast!

EDIT IV: Drove the '03 Subie and on the first timed lap ran a 1:39.9. Good car. Boring to drive though :/

EDIT V: Is anyone stupid enough to drive the silvia? (No offense if you are) That car is a turd monkey. 1:42.8!!! I bet you could lower that if you took the time to actually tune it and give it a shot, but not by much i don't think. not enough to make it competitive at least.

EDIT VI: Not to my surprise, I am quickest in the Garaiya. Ask anyone who has raced me, and they will attest to me loving MRs and in GT300, garaiyas. 1:39.4 on the third lap in a brand new car. Such a great car.....

EDIT VII: The MR-S is a fun, quirky car that feels a lot lighter than it really is. However, it just has no balls; it feels slow accelerating, and therefore ran a measily 1:40.7

EDIT VIII: And just to make sure the update didn't change anything, I ran the Celica again to end the night. 1:39.7

Moral of the story is: Most of that cars are fairly balanced. Give the MR-S some more power (364-374) and eliminate the Silvia. If you feel that your car is slow, get a different one, otherwise, get over it.

That's how I felt about the MR-S. It's great handling but seems to be lagging in acceleration. Maybe some less weight it'd be good.

VELOCI, are you driving with a wheel of pad?

I really want to use my wheel again but 1. I'm slower and 2. The car tends to want to spin out more.

Youre the opposite of me, since I started with a wheel I cant use a controller for nuts. I find with my Lexus they way it is, I have to turn in quite slowly to keep it happy.

Im trying to finish...I have been very busy...maybe only getting an hour of two done in a day...hopefully later this week I will get a day to kill 8hours and be close to done. And it isn't boring at all. It's my 4th 24h race, and I'm doing it in a XJ13, so it is very intense (especially at night)

That's a good point. Qualifying will still use the first 3 laps as your qualifying time. The 4th lap is just a donut/coffee break.

Please don't leave the track until the steward says he has your time. Thanks guys.

Good and bad news. Good news is, I am able to start practicing and hopefully compete on race day. Bad news is, I had to quit my 24h race when I was 19h in with a 3min lead. Stupid update.

Ouch!!

@Alefin:
I want to use the RXz instead of the Garaiya. The Nordschleife Race is the reason for that.
I thoght I can get used to the snappings she gives me but in Enduros those behaviours are no-go´s => I´ll take the Prem RX7 (although the fastest for me was the Lexus but noone wants to use the RX7 => still variety over speed)
