Do you think there's room for a noob in this season? Last time I played was the GT academy. Finished 170th in first round with about 20 hours worth of lapping.

Thanks for adding me. Do I need to play through aspec to gain access to these cars. Or is there some way race officials delegate? I'll take the celica...

If you want to buy the cars yourself, you'll need the proper A-Spec level. If someone gives it to you, there's no problem.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, full tank too. It took me a while to get to that time; you really need to hit your marks. I was running high 40s on my first laps, and only after tweaking could I get into the 39s. Gearing is important.

Maybe in the practice room with Joe, I'll run some other cars to see if they compare. I never ran any cars before my selection, so idk which one is the fastest, honestly.

EDIT II: Just tested the '06 RX7 and ran a 1:39.9, with plenty of time left if you wanted to tune it. Gonna run some more cars now.

EDIT III: Took the Lexus out and ran a 1:39.9 on the first flying lap. Man, with a good tune, this car is a beast!

EDIT IV: Drove the '03 Subie and on the first timed lap ran a 1:39.9. Good car. Boring to drive though :/

EDIT V: Is anyone stupid enough to drive the silvia? (No offense if you are) That car is a turd monkey. 1:42.8!!! I bet you could lower that if you took the time to actually tune it and give it a shot, but not by much i don't think. not enough to make it competitive at least.

EDIT VI: Not to my surprise, I am quickest in the Garaiya. Ask anyone who has raced me, and they will attest to me loving MRs and in GT300, garaiyas. 1:39.4 on the third lap in a brand new car. Such a great car.....

EDIT VII: The MR-S is a fun, quirky car that feels a lot lighter than it really is. However, it just has no balls; it feels slow accelerating, and therefore ran a measily 1:40.7

EDIT VIII: And just to make sure the update didn't change anything, I ran the Celica again to end the night. 1:39.7

Moral of the story is: Most of that cars are fairly balanced. Give the MR-S some more power (364-374) and eliminate the Silvia. If you feel that your car is slow, get a different one, otherwise, get over it.

I was afraid you'd say yes, damn you. Anyhow, Gearing is my worst aspect of tuning - When I was testing my Subbie I just set the transmission to 171 MPH, it seemed fine at the time. Guess a little fine tuning with my final car choice will be needed.

Good car selection you've tested. My next choice as far as cars go is the RX-7. It sounds good, looks good and it's pretty fun to drive. I'm not looking for the fastest car around, just one that's fun to drive and competitive 👍

Thanks. I'm only at level 18. I suppose I'll be tentative for quali and the race pending my acquisition of the car.

The seasonal events should help you level up pretty quick

Well I believe I've found my perfect car. The (P) RX-7 AsparaDrink!

I had some time to do a few laps online and figure out what I was doing wrong as far as lap times. My problem it seems was that I was just pushing too far wide in two corners (First and second to last) and losing tons of time overall. By braking earlier, I was able to lower my time significantly down to a flying lap of 1:39.876. Car was stock except for getting it to fit spec and lowering rear downforce.

Car sounds great - Handles great - Looks great - and if you guys get thirsty during the race I could chuck some AsparaDrinks out the window .
Is the AsparaDrink a real thing? Hmm. Sounds like a beverage anyhow...

How many cars are allowed to be the same? Because I signed up with the Premium RX7, then seems like 3 others did right after me.

Started lapping in the Lexus. I'm about 5 seconds Off pace based on some times posted in this thread. Uhhhh-ohhh :(

Practice make perfect mate, can you tune your car well? If not ask around I'm sure someone might help you.

Well I'm sure I could. But im not sure how the game physics in relation to real life grip compare. So it's still a trial and error period for me. I don't see a need to tune until I turn laps within .25-.5 seconds of each other.

Whilst practicing should I do it in a server online or should I just do it in practice mode from the home screen?

Probably better if you make an online room; a private lounge even works.

The closer you can get a room to the race condition room, the better.

Had a tuning and test session and here is what I found out. This only applies for me - Will it be the same for you, I don't know.

Ride Height: Raising this seems to have had a benefit. I currently have mine set at 10/6. The car seems to corner at slightly higher speed and feels a tad less understeery - 8/10 also works well.

Spring Rate: Slightly softening the springs seems to work well (Dropped front to around 12.8 and rear to 11.2)

Dampers: Left alone for now.

Anti Roll: Dropped rear -1 relative to front.

Camber: More on the front than rear and both below 2.0 for me.

Toe: Negative on the front, very little negative on the rear. Still experimenting here, not an expert on toe.

Aero: Dropping rear aero to anywhere between 45-55 seems to increase straightaway speed as well as cornering speed. Lowering rear aero too far results in instability. Find a middle ground, or keep it at max if you prefer ultimate stability. Keep front aero maxed out. I currently run 35/48

Couldn't match my flying lap no matter how hard I tried. Laps varied between 39.980 and 40.500 with an average lap of 40.320 (estimated)

Im right up there with the slow guys averaging 44s, fast laps are 43s.

Also Im not noticing a difference in the physics, tested in an online room today and my lap times are the same as before the update.
