Wrong, officially said Sophy will come in future update of GT7.
Correct - It says not at launch. My bad.

Still, I believe players need to temper their expectations of what it will do. If it's amazing and players finish last, no one will be happy. If it's turned down, and players win, no one will be happy. If it drives like the bad players online, it will be a dirt driver, and no one will be happy. If it drives like the great players online, you'll lose, and no one will be happy.

If it's a B-spec, some will be happy.

I honestly don't know what people are expecting of it either than a more consistent race pace, which really doesn't change the single player experience much at all. People talk about it like it's going to change the world.

Amazing what a bit of vague marketing and flashy videos can manage, isn't it. All over the internet people are convinced that Sophy will be completely replacing the competitive AI across the game and we are all going to be racing a full grid of them.

Which to be fair, is exactly what the fancy videos insinuated. It's only when you dive in and read the papers and watch the technical presentation that you see they only plan to use Sophy as a "buddy" in GT7, teaching you, aiding you and driving almongside you as, again, a friend. It will not be added as competition.

I hope they update more thumbnails. Those rims not matching certain cars is a major problem. They also need to color code all of the paint jobs, some of the reds in the thumbnails look pink when in game.

Needs more attention

I agree 100%.

I won't be going near GT8 after this mess. I know I keep saying it, but PD have burned me for the last time with their lies.

I dont (normally) buy new games. Heck, I haven't even played Res Evil 8 yet. Having played GT for 25 years, it was one of a few exceptions. Not any more.

It's all (probably deliberately) obtuse too. "Driving alongside as a friend" gives enough wiggle room for people to think that they'll be racing (and thus competing) against them on track, and lets them run with that idea.

If we see it, I genuinely think it will be a time trial type thing where there's a reward based on your time in comparison. Similar to the Hamilton DLC.

How nice it could be to have real music/songs in the UI of GT7 and not some random weird remix Japanese arcade music. Like 70’s 80’s 90’s songs. Every good game comes with a good sound track.
Um, to be fair, it is by a Japanese developer, you know. Not sure why it would be anything else... well, apart from the fact that there are a lot of international music elsewhere in the game.

This is what the Sophy section of the website says currently about future implementations.

Future Applications

While GT Sophy has achieved major milestone, there is still room for further research and development. In partnership with PDI and SIE, Sony AI will continue to upgrade GT Sophy’s capabilities as well as explore ways in which the agent can potentially be integrated into the Gran Turismo series going forward. In addition to Gran Turismo, Sony AI is also eager to explore new partnerships to enhance the gaming experience for players through AI.

"Potentially".

And to be fair we might, but still, I don't know what people are expecting it to do? Maybe have a little less predictable racing? Maybe it will mimic online, but be less crashy and vengeful :D

That's a good rundown of B-Spec. I can see that coming in a year. It's easy enough to change the primary screen to say "World Map" and "B-Spec". I think the introduction of B-Spec will be greatly influenced by the success of the MTX. If they're making a lot of money off of it, we won't get a B-spec. If the cashflow seems diminished, then we might.

Just one thing please:
Le Mans 30 min - tires change as they please. If I ask for a slick, it is an animation of wet tires and vice versa.

Ok, I have to admit, the force feedback does feel quite nice now indeed. However....am I right in saying that PD basically told a bare-faced lie when they said they INTENTIONALLY toned down the FFB for health & safety reasons? If that was true they've completely gone back on their previous mentality?

The music in the menus are generally by original artists. I do think they should add some more though. Actually, seeing as it's "always online", it would actually be nice to have a Gran Turismo radio station playing new music all the time (appropriate to the whole vibe of GT) . I personally really like that loungey electronica stuff they use, just wish there was more of it.

Some new "mhe" cars .. (max 3 or 4)
new painted Lines in a existent track
Two or three events , max 500K cr. with CRB

My prediction (ridiculous hyperbole?) for Sophy is, if it’s going to come in 7, they’ll deffo monetise it in some way, so maybe as part of a paid time-trial-type DLC as you say, and probably exclusive to PS5 to ‘encourage’ those of us still on PS4 to upgrade. I could see that being a success from their standpoint, tho personally it wouldn’t persuade me to upgrade unless it made a really marked difference in gameplay and there’s proof it isn’t as bug-ridden as this initial game launch has been.

We got two two Subarus and a Suzuki in the first update. A Toyota, a “Chevrolet” Camaro and another Suzuki, in the second update.
Adding to one of the GR cars, I’m thinking we’ll get this as an older car
View attachment 1157143

and if there are only three cars for the next update, I can’t call the last one. 928 GTS4? The Mitsubishi Starion? Lamborghini Espada?
Now, we got two Suzukis back to back. If we get two GR cars back to back, that’s some kind of pattern developing. I mean, they could have waited to add the Capuccino(since, obviously, it was ready) with the Suzuki VGT.

People are thinking Pike’s Peak for valid reasons. One question I have is, the GR Cup event, with the GR Yaris, is in August with a TBD track. What are the chances Pike’s Peak could be that circuit? It’d be interesting for qualifying a point to point. Similar to qualifying at the Nordschliefe maybe?
I think that‘s a possibility. The first ever event and it’s a point to point with 16-20 cars racing to the top.

Maybe the next track added is Apricot Hill or Grand Valley. Some original circuit. PD have a track record for missed opportunities. So, Pike’s Peak could arrive later.

Agreed, but it could replace Lewis in a DLC TT pack. There’s enough hype around it now they’d be dumb not to use it to empty our wallets again.
Yeah, I completely expect something like that. But when people say it’s ‘coming to the game’ I think it should always be clarified.

In the making of of Sophy, there were like 4 or 5 ai that really competes against the real players. I could not understand why it will be only a teacher or a time trial ?

Because to do that took a lot of computing power and training. It's not ready to just work on our home consoles.

I’m so sad i lost my interest to the game. 😑 Bought ps5 & gt dd pro for this game…it was big mistake. 🤦🏼
Beautiful game but no reason to play. I try to enjoy it and drive every day but no reason to drive. Used car dealerships is dead, café is dead, challanges are dead. Maybe my bad, i dont know.

I doubt it will be B-Spec for the reasons you mention.

You mean like a passion for motorsport? I agree. I spent a couple of evenings this week completing circuit experience for the Circuit de la Sarthe managing a Gold for all sectors and the 1 lap attack; in order to feel closer to this weeks 90th running of 24 Heures du Mans.
Why can’t PD invest in tackling some classes so that we can have at least as close to real world experience with a total class grid of manufacturers?

I’d also include that whilst it was enjoyable for the most part despite the Fanatec/ Thrustmaster ffb issue; I have a DD Pro and concur that the feeling is better around cornering and across rumble strips, whilst dead numb on the straights, can’t invest the time with Fanatec/ Thrustmaster to make all said wheels fully compatible.

Finally and not something I read a lot about but Telemetry data. Partnered with Michelin, which just appears to be a sponsor; heading out on track after a pitstop, recovering after a spin or even at the start of the race, we are blind to tyre temps. Every other racing game (https://www.simhubdash.com/supported-games/) outputs data so that not only is it in game but also available to the likes of simhub for dash display.

What are the chances of pushing this as a want?
Did I forget to mention multi-class also? 🤔

Sophy's biggest benefit will be BoP/PP balancing.

It could (potentially, based on what I saw in the video) run through the cars and equalize the settings far better than any person or tool can.

Sports betting's all fine and dandy

But a real risk is dropping cash on the possibility of another Suzuki coming in June. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
