Correct - It says not at launch. My bad.Wrong, officially said Sophy will come in future update of GT7.
Amazing what a bit of vague marketing and flashy videos can manage, isn't it. All over the internet people are convinced that Sophy will be completely replacing the competitive AI across the game and we are all going to be racing a full grid of them.People talk about it like it's going to change the world.
I agree 100%.
I won't be going near GT8 after this mess. I know I keep saying it, but PD have burned me for the last time with their lies.
It's all (probably deliberately) obtuse too. "Driving alongside as a friend" gives enough wiggle room for people to think that they'll be racing (and thus competing) against them on track, and lets them run with that idea.Amazing what a bit of vague marketing and flashy videos can manage, isn't it. Which to be fair, is exactly what the fancy videos insinuated. It's only when you dive in and read the papers and watch the technical presentation that you see they only plan to use Sophy as a "buddy" in GT7, teaching you, aiding you and driving alongside you as, again, a friend. It will not be added as competition.
Um, to be fair, it is by a Japanese developer, you know. Not sure why it would be anything else... well, apart from the fact that there are a lot of international music elsewhere in the game. How nice it could be to have real music/songs in the UI of GT7 and not some random weird remix Japanese arcade music. Like 70’s 80’s 90’s songs. Every good game comes with a good sound track.
Future Applications
While GT Sophy has achieved major milestone, there is still room for further research and development. In partnership with PDI and SIE, Sony AI will continue to upgrade GT Sophy’s capabilities as well as explore ways in which the agent can potentially be integrated into the Gran Turismo series going forward. In addition to Gran Turismo, Sony AI is also eager to explore new partnerships to enhance the gaming experience for players through AI.
So you are saying the cheating AI that pit maneuvers and crashes players off course is not sophy?Wrong, officially said Sophy will come in future update of GT7.
And to be fair we might, but still, I don't know what people are expecting it to do? Maybe have a little less predictable racing? Maybe it will mimic online, but be less crashy and vengefulAmazing what a bit of vague marketing and flashy videos can manage, isn't it. That's a good rundown of B-Spec. I can see that coming in a year. It's easy enough to change the primary screen to say "World Map" and "B-Spec". I think the introduction of B-Spec will be greatly influenced by the success of the MTX. If they're making a lot of money off of it, we won't get a B-spec. If the cashflow seems diminished, then we might.Which to be fair, is exactly what the fancy videos insinuated. The music in the menus are generally by original artists. I do think they should add some more though. Actually, seeing as it's "always online", it would actually be nice to have a Gran Turismo radio station playing new music all the time (appropriate to the whole vibe of GT) . I personally really like that loungey electronica stuff they use, just wish there was more of it.How nice it could be to have real music/songs in the UI of GT7 and not some random weird remix Japanese arcade music. If we see it, I genuinely think it will be a time trial type thing where there's a reward based on your time in comparison. Similar to the Hamilton DLC.
Now, we got two Suzukis back to back. If we get two GR cars back to back, that’s some kind of pattern developing. I mean, they could have waited to add the Capuccino(since, obviously, it was ready) with the Suzuki VGT.Adding to one of the GR cars, I’m thinking we’ll get this as an older car

and if there are only three cars for the next update, I can’t call the last one. 928 GTS4? The Mitsubishi Starion? Lamborghini Espada?
Agreed, but it could replace Lewis in a DLC TT pack. There’s enough hype around it now they’d be dumb not to use it to empty our wallets again.Sophy isn’t replacing the AI. this needs to be stickied or something. I don’t know why this keeps getting repeated.
Yeah, I completely expect something like that. But when people say it’s ‘coming to the game’ I think it should always be clarified.Agreed, but it could replace Lewis in a DLC TT pack. There’s enough hype around it now they’d be dumb not to use it to empty our wallets again.
There’s plenty of documentation on itIn the making of of Sophy, there were like 4 or 5 ai that really competes against the real players. I could not understand why it will be only a teacher or a time trial ?
Because to do that took a lot of computing power and training. It's not ready to just work on our home consoles. In the making of of Sophy, there were like 4 or 5 ai that really competes against the real players. I could not understand why it will be only a teacher or a time trial ?
Yeah I didn’t think about that. Maybe it could be an one vs one that are always tide with usBecause to do that took a lot of computing power and training. It's not ready to just work on our home consoles.
I doubt it will be B-Spec for the reasons you mention. And to be fair we might, but still, I don't know what people are expecting it to do? Maybe have a little less predictable racing? Maybe it will mimic online, but be less crashy and vengeful

HA, maybe it will learn how you drive and do Sport Mode for people who don't want to play online
Did I forget to mention multi-class also? 🤔You mean like a passion for motorsport? I agree. I spent a couple of evenings this week completing circuit experience for the Circuit de la Sarthe managing a Gold for all sectors and the 1 lap attack; in order to feel closer to this weeks 90th running of 24 Heures du Mans.
Why can’t PD invest in tackling some classes so that we can have at least as close to real world experience with a total class grid of manufacturers?
I’d also include that whilst it was enjoyable for the most part despite the Fanatec/ Thrustmaster ffb issue; I have a DD Pro and concur that the feeling is better around cornering and across rumble strips, whilst dead numb on the straights, can’t invest the time with Fanatec/ Thrustmaster to make all said wheels fully compatible.
Finally and not something I read a lot about but Telemetry data. Partnered with Michelin, which just appears to be a sponsor; heading out on track after a pitstop, recovering after a spin or even at the start of the race, we are blind to tyre temps. Every other racing game (https://www.simhubdash.com/supported-games/) outputs data so that not only is it in game but also available to the likes of simhub for dash display.
What are the chances of pushing this as a want?
