Only S engines can be installed for the levin.. BTW That is a hard one to do with the AE85.. I barely squeeked by. Set you gear ratios as close as they can go, and set the final to around 6. After that it's all technique. (You can do about 2:19 if you do it perfectly) I beat that one on day 8, what day are you on?

thats crazy, my best time in my 85 levin is like around 2:30.. :(
 
No no I mean 2:19.. The fastest you can go on Hakone is like 1:49.. with the Pantera. Personally, my fastest time was 1:52 with the nsx after several runs.
 
what car should i get to make getting the time easier on myself? i was thinking maybe the mini because it has good power?

as for engines, does v-engine mean v6 v8 etc?
or RE mean rotary engine?
 
yeah s is an inline 4 or 6, v is either a v6 or a v8(i dont think there is anything bigger than that in this game), b is boxer 4 or 6 like subarus or porches have, and re is a rotary like the rx7's have.

Actually.. the '85 is the best way to go... Seems hard to believe, but the Mini is a real POS.
If you want I can make a replay of a 2:24 Lap with an 85 so you can see what it looks like.
 
so the hachi go is best... i guess i just need to try harder...are "fine" conditions the only way to go?
and can you give the specs on your levin that you used to beat the hakone time? please:)

Seriously though, I can't get enough of the vids, and I would love to see your drift style.....

Oh yeah, for the video, do you want live in cockpit action, or 3rd person?

(LAST EDIT) [A fun minigame I noticed, is drifting in one lane.. like only in the left lane.. makes it pretty challenging and feels pretty good)

Does this game have all the cars that were in Shutokou 01? I'm not going to play this one but it would be cool if you could drift the mustang mach 1.
 
hey seito, did you use the 85 to beat the fairlady? im getting smoked by that car badly...i tried using your settings for the hachi but i notice i get bogged down in one because the clutch won't engage second gear.... also i get up to fifth gear really quick and i start bouncing off the rev limiter and by that time the fairlady's long gone...any suggestions?

do u mean the rev keeps red lining but it wont change gears?? or that it takes a long time to change from 1st to 2nd??

Hm, must not be remembering the days clearly.. it's been awhile.

*EDIT* Make sure you use Racing Level 3, or max.. It makes a huge difference. (For 2:24 At Hakone, and for the 350z) Make sure to use Trueno for an easier time.. it has better accel.
 
You must be referring to after unlocking Haruna and Akagi Seito. Before those courses are available you can only buy level 2 parts (engine, breaks etc) except for level 3 tyres. But you said you beat the 350Z and Hakone on day 6 which is before you got the Slasher. Howd you do that?
 
Right. Seito told me he raced the Slasher (FTO) around day 15, and that he beat the 350Z and the normal race (Julius Cup) around day 6. But I didn't think that level 3 race parts (except for level 3 tyres and air cleaner which can be won) were available until you defeat the FTO.
 
how are you beating these people in so little days? im already on day 40 something....i notice the 350z aka medalist only comes out on "fine" nights and only on weekdays not weekends... i haven't even seen slasher yet..does he only appear after you beat "normal race"?

on the topic of the 350z i can get close to him in the hair pins but he blows my doors off in the straights..really frustrating :banghead:
 
hey seito, when do you unlock the FD. ive beaten hakone,haruna,akagi, and first iro, and have almost beaten 2nd iro. but i still havent unlocked the fd, i want this car cuz its what i have in real life and its just my favorite car. do you unlock it when beating 2nd iro, or rokko or what?
