Karting in GT6

Maybe put crappy 40 mph rental karts that can be driven at indoor circuits by real indoor karting companies? đź’ˇ
Agreed, who doesn't enjoy a some lousy indoor karts on a rainy day on a 1/16 mile double decker figure 8 track?
Been to one once :)

And imagine a map editor about indoor and outdoor karting, you will be able to reproduce your favorite track and others from the real world ! It would not too difficult to program because all karting sheds are ugly and generic.

Of course, this would be useless if the terrible physics of GT5 are remained.

I enjoy Karting on GT5. I'm glad they are returning in GT6. It was really fun racing them on online at tracks like trial mountain lol. I just wish we can get more karting tracks.

You gotta have Karting, it's an integral part of motorsport. Every racer has cut their teeth on these things so to not expand upon this is ludicrous. Esp now that the Ayrton Senna content partnership has been announced. As mentioned before a lot of real world tracks featuring in GT have karting complexes so would make sense to utilise these locations for additional tracks. That Prost set up at Le Mans is simply off it's rocker!

The new kart is a shifter, notice the gold handle to the left side of the picture.

Gran Turismo Arena

i1wCEdV2fWpqt.jpg

This is a multipurpose arena used to accommodate tens of thousands of spectators, with a special circuit set up on its field. The total length of the course is short at 668 metres, but the variety of corners in its layout is equal to a large scale circuit. This is a great stage for Karts and small displacement cars.
You can also remove the cornerstones and corner barriers to set up a variety of attractions using cones.

Ohhhh yeahhhh :D

What could push this over the top is if it became a course maker site, with perhaps a parking lot outside the size of a big stadium parking lot, and the ability to run in and out of the stadium...one can dream!!! Imagine a small oval in that stadium!!! Looks like an interesting and novel feature...well done PD:tup:

awesome eye by @iaustin7! Yes!! An obligatory thank you might also have to go out to @Ridox2JZGTE and @Johnnypenso for creating some nice shifterkarts and posting the hysterical/awesome video on YT telling kaz it's never too late!
đź‘Ť
Haha..thanks and thanks to @Ridox2JZGTE for building some awesome karts!! It would make my day if Kaz tweeted out a shout out to one or both of us..:D

So pleased about the shifter karts, that is going to be amazing. Hopefully combined with the new karting dynamics it will be an awesome experience.

There is a Shifter Kart in GT 6 !

I watched the Video on my ps3 and where the new Kart comes in i watched it in Slow-Mo and you can clearly see the right hand of the Driver on the "shifter knob" on the right side of the Wheel.

Thanks PD for that

Honestly, the Arena area and course maker could be melded to make any track configuration you want within the space given.
But PD being PD probably won't make it so....

Does anyone's Driving Force GT suffer from excessive jerking whilst using karts on road courses? I hope this is fixed in GT6, otherwise my wheel will soon be disintegrated...

Some tracks are rougher than others. Tsukuba is bad rough but a good layout for karts. Suzuka is very smooth, and the short layout is a good kart choice.

I'm afraid you have to choose how rough you are willing to put up with in karts. That does limit your choice for tracks I know, but hey, it's a real-world tradeoff too...

It's kind of a kart thing. Kart steering wheels in real life require some muscle to get around the track. Try turning down the FFB when driving a kart and see if that helps.

I loved the karts on gt5 great for a quick fix race and absolutely brilliant in split screen and with all the new stuff coming to 6 i cant wait but would love to see some more karts maybe like a 150cc or something. Just a thought

I would like to see karting return

They will. Karting in GT5 was just "luck". I've read somewhere that when they first showed karting it wasn't even going to be in GT5, it was saved for GT6. But since the audience showed such enthusiasm about karting and loved the idea, they had to make karting in GT5 as well.

Good points, thanks for the input. At least GT6 will include a few more kart friendly tracks (Gran Turismo Arena, Kart Space, etc...).
