Yeah I do that. This mistake was out of a hairpin on to a long straight which is a tough corner for everyone. I was getting back into the throttle and you know how those Rotax throttles have to be hit perfectly....

Oh I HATE that!
That can have a lot to do with your Carb settings. Have you tried playing with needle position before?
Just be SUPER smooth on throttle and get on it just before the apex. Feed it in nice and slow.

Yes. It's a very critical corner. You have to slowly ease on it there because it's probably the second slowest corner on the track. I also hate when your smooth, but then you hit a bump and it takes your foot off the throttle. :banghead:

I use heelstops so I don't get that at all. Love them.
Do you use your ankle or leg to feed in the throttle?

Well, i use the throttle and brake with the balls of my feet, so I guess I drive with my ankles. I do have heel stops.

That sounded a lot worse in my head. Anyway, getting back on the topic, I use my whole foot on the brake and accelerator when I go karting.

 Hahaha, wow.

Sorry to make fun of your post, nitro, but we can't help ourselves.

I only drive karts at places that have them (too poor to afford an actual kart...) and I use the whole of my feet to accelerate and brake. It's better than using the balls (of your feet) to do that, as they can slip on the throttle and brakes.

I know a lot of people that use their feet in the same way I do, and it's just a matter of what your comfortable with. My feet have never slipped. Racing Shoes are quite grippy.

Going karting tomorrow with a bunch of mates, girlfriend bought me credit.

Been a loooong time since I've karted indoor (5 years), this should be a whole new experience.

Guys forget all karts the best kart is tony kart.
I have test all and tony kart is the best kart for rotax senior.
Intrepid kart is good for junior max.

I've heard that the Tonys are REALLY soft, drop a wheel and your session's over.

Yes they are soft, but not THAT soft. I have never had a problem with mine. To be honest IMO all of the major chassis are just as good as all of the others, they vary slightly in setup, however put a good driver in any chassis and they will always be quick.

the good thing about OTK family (tony, kosmic, alonso and exprit) is you can take them out the box with no setup and be within 3/4 tenths of a perfect setup. with other chassis it takes a little more setup work. however what this means is that if you had a perfect setup for a certain race, the other large manufacturers (Intrepid, CRG, Gillard and many more) will have a faster kart. it's the strange way the mechanics of it work.

Can you upload photos on the mobile app for this? I have a picture of a tony kart and it's totally flexed in the picture.

that is one problem about a tony, you touch a kerb and it ends up looking like a banana :P

Tonykarts seem to have a mind of their own regarding when to bend. I have seen some people have tiny crash's and end up with a completely bent chassis. Yet I have had some large crash's with mine and it is still as straight as a ruler.

To be honest I only drive tony because the first kart I bought was a tony so when I bought a newer chassis I bought a tony so my spares would fit, otherwise I would have maybe gone intrepid or crg.

Gokartman are you at whilton this weekend, if you are then I will be there.
