Just to update, I just heard that there was a meeting just after I'd left the circuit. I'd never imagined that creating a new track record would cause such excitement O_O .

Good luck! Things can go fast :D

I wish I could afford it now, but I think I'll try to go a little bit professional by joining a club in a later stage of my life. Untill then, I'll go at the local track. Had my personal record today in the new track layout. Took me a while to adjust but nailed 7 laps, gaining around 2 tenths per lap, made me feel confident and pushed the last lap and woohoo :D

Goodluck to you all going and being pro, wish I could!

Thanks. You never know..maybe you could one day too.

Had two big scares this weekend.
1) Went to grab a cone and toss it off the track while moving. Cone got caught on the rear tire and got pulled under it, along with my arm and hand. Can't believe I didn't break my arm, although it is a little crooked now compared to my other one. Probably a pulled muscle or something. Pretty stupid move on my part. I did get the cone out of the way though and promptly dropped 3 tenths. :D
2) Got a love tap from behind on one of the starts, (20 kart grid 👍) and quickly had someone drive up and over the side of me. Went about twenty feet with him ON my front fairing.
For those of you that read The F1Slate, to put it in Juan Pablo Montoya's words: "He nearly broked my 🤬 head man! :censored him."

Hahahaha! I heard him say that! where did you end up? And was it a club race?

On the race with the guy driving over me, I got a DNF.
He hit me in a way that caused the wiring near the kill switch to loosen a bit so I had no power.
Got a third place on Saturday though.
That was a regional race.

Next year is going to be awesome in the North East. Have a LOT of national caliber drivers moving up to Senior. Will be ridiculously competitive.

Oh. That sucks.
And good job in the regional finish. 👍
Nice! I'm guessing Ferucci will move up to Sr.
I hope I can get enough money to run the whole Gatorz series and maybe a SKUSA race next year.

Haven't seen him in awhile, actually. Think he's been in Europe for the most of this year. Have a couple other guys that have been top 10 at Grand Nats though.

Oh god no no no...
You could've broken it SO easily, and if it's in the way, then everyone has to slow down, and the obstruction could let you set up a pass.

It was on a practice day, and was really only there to keep a mini max from going too high on the curbs. And that mini max was nowhere to be found. So...

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Woop Woop, just sent my entry in for Whilton Mill next weekend. My favourite track, can't afford to go Saturday testing though so only get 3 lap practice in the morning to get the setup dialed in :S .

Who? And I saw Ferucci in Go Racing driving at the Canadian Rotax Challenge.

Final points just came out.

Finished 2nd in the NorthEast!
My very first year at this level, not bad. :)
Also just realized I was keeping up with a multi-time Team USA member in the final race of the season.
Getting a new chassis next year, younger brother is going to start next year with my old Junior engine and chassis.
Have a good shot at the North East title next year. LOTS of seat time too. And MAYBE, just maybe, a trip to Grand Nationals. But my Dad has made it clear, we're only going if we can compete in the top 5.

Might do a WKA race next year as well...

wow! impressive! sounds like it's been a great year for you :)

I raced there just about a month ago for the first time. Nice facility they have up there. Even stopped for a burger at their bar on the way out.

Grand finals are going to be in the US next year!

Some place down in New Orleans.

Really? That's awesome!

That's also good that an Irish driver, Charlie Eastwood won in Sr. Max. I have a lot of Irish karting friends, their good guys.

A kid from my club went....didn't even finish in the top 10. No Americans did which I find quite odd. David Sera didn't even finish in the top 10! There must've been a Pile up.

Ferruci got in a fight with some Frenchy.

Hey guys, I'm thinking about building a kart to start racing. I know quality frames often cost upwards of $1000, but I found this one on Craigslist for $200. Does anyone know anything about this particular frame? If it's still structurally sound is and it isn't bent could it still be put to use?

I used to race Charlie :dopey:. he was a bit big back in cadet though . I also raced the guy who won juniors, and was team-mates with the guy who finished 4th in juniors :D.

man that makes me feel old, that was almost 5 years ago :(

I would run 50 or 60 miles away from a chassis that looks like its been kept in a field like that one. Its not only the chassis being structually sound that is important, you need the brake seal to be intact, the bearings to be not rusted to hell, ect and that one only has half the parts there.

You are much better to spend slightly more and buy a roughly 10 year old rolling chassis that has been taken care of, that one you linked to would take lots more money to get even to the condition that this one is.
