Haha that's still pretty cool.

Hey Gatorz, was that WKA TaG race at Daytona again today?

Yup! Giessen won everything. TaG 1 and Parilla Leopard. I raced with him in the last RMax race I did. He's pretty quick. I qualified in front of him but, he kicked my butt in the races.
I didn't go. Snowed in here in Connecticut instead. :(

Ah that sucks. I'm trying to do some SKUSA Pro Kart stuff this year. I want to try a Leopard.

And was it a fist fight between Ferucci and the other kid a fist fight?

I'm getting a kart. :)

All in all, a Birel chassis with a 10 hp four-stroke seems like a good way to get into the world of owning/maintaining a kart. :) We'll see where I end up from here.

What club are you going to be running at?
Birel's are great 4 stroke karts, very fast, plus they're easy to set up.

Recent reno roval. You know the one. You probably know the one a bit too qwell, in fact. :dopey: I make no attempt to hide living in Ontario, piecing it together that I live one county south of you... The county I live in has its own Regional Kart Club. I just don't want to say the actual name of the city.

Well, I think I'm kind of done with Rotax...unfortunately. I want to drive a Leopard, but those are time bombs. everyone at my club pushed for Rotax, now they are all moving to S2. So I think I'm just going to run the sprig club season in Rotax Sr. If I can get enough entrants. So I need to get enough money to run in the S2 class because everyone is moving there. I'll probably just do Rotax for Gatorz. I hope we can scrape some money together...

 I suppose you would like me to PM you 5 years of info about the club and course?

You would do that?

Also, how's Shannonville? I get to race on a real race-track!! :dopey: Obviously, I'd love to get this PM about the racing line at the roval, but, I'd also like to know about Shannonville... Because that would be a jewel of a race to win/do well at.

Don't bother with the old pre-roval track from the '80s. I know it very well, having been there.

But, otherwise, I'd clearly take all of the help I can get. My biggest concern is the difference in horsepower. Going from an Arrive and Drive 6.5 hp to a properly built 10 hp might be a big difference.

Yeah, no problem. 👍

Shannonville in a 4-Stroke kart is almost exactly like the Daytona of Ontario 4-Stroke racing. Not much skill is required because it's a big track, but you'll find that there will be trains of 5 or more karts nose to tail pushing each other.

And lol, 10hp is still only 10hp, it's not exactly a rocketship, I'll PM you the full details. 👍

I beat people running Leopards and Bridgestone YLBs with my Rotax and Mojo D2s.

It's not that much better, the Rotax just takes a bit more knowledge and skill to drive quickly.

I agree with you the Rotax's are quicker, but they are much harder to tune. We had one bloke running a Rotax that was popping and he was still beating everyone.

But, four-strokes are easy. :)

Mine's done. Then, I decided to take the tires off for the remaining two months of brown- I mean white snow.

No. Thanks, but, I'm my own biggest critic in this case.

The cart's splackered with the name of someone else. I'm not going to have someone else's name on it. I need to remove all of those decals.

I'm thinking red/white with maple leaves everywhere... To go with the Racefan.ca gloves + planned replacement of helmet.

This is my first time owning one, but, using my technologically inclined brain, it didn't take me long to figure anything out.

One question; is there a definitive rear wheel lug nut torque amount? The rear lugs were on too tight for me to even get them off when I got them. I had to grab a box-end wrench and force things...

^lolno

(Just make sure that you don't remove the Collison decals, I'm guessing that Jake's your engine builder, so leave'em on.)

Ah good.
How much are the Birel decals now, I can't quite remember.
(CRG decals are freaking expensive though, like, 300 bucks a set.)

Ah, I thought you meant the red/white of the Birel decals.
That's actually a good idea, custom ones are cheaper than the factory decals.

Edit: Is that a paper air filter I spy?

Paper air filter, yes. Replaceable wet race one included, free of charge, but...

That sounds about right, when I was racing we always had to force them. By the way what sort of nut is it, do you undo with a hex wrench (Allen key) or socket wrench.

Allen key. I feel a bit safer knowing that my tires won't be randomly stolen when I turn around.
