Haven't flipped but I've been ejected before. Went literally helmet first into the barrier.
Had a good two seconds of flight time.
I've heard people say 10-14 hp.
We instantly looked at axle width, I must've been running 47", instead of at least 48". I'm now running 49", and I'm not on two wheels anymore. Here's hoping that's the magic fix.
Anyone ever flipped a go kart before? What was it like and if you felt any pain, what was it like on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the same pain you'd feel if someone lightly pinched your ear and 10 for the same pain you'd feel if you jumped off a 10 story building and against all odds survived).
I have a feeling fate is going to roll my kart over and write it off soon ...
@lbsf1, at my kart track, you run either Praga or Birel (because people at my track actually think Praga is a Birel copy) or you don't run as fast.
Only five people run something that isn't a Praga, or Birel. Three of them run First Kart, one was running a First Kart and switched to Praga, and one runs a 6/7 year old Birel, which, in my mind, classifies it as worth mentioning as not a modern Birel.
Anything will run good at Flamboro if you set it up right. Racine went from a Birel to a Firstkart and cleaned up last year. (Again.)
Everything you say is true. Also, welcome back!!
And, I beat Adam Racine June 1st; he left his kart at home. WINNING!
Awesome pics ckellyusa!
And thanks, I was there the last race picking up bike parts. Didn't see the finals, but I think I saw your Subaru. (I was the guy with the wild hair.)
Might come back for another race if we can scrape together a kart.
Wait what? What is the problem exactly?
And why did you take the axle out?
I'm getting some grab in the rear axle, so I was going to put some WD40 and lithium grease in, but now, upon trying to put it back on, I turned it, and the holes don't line up.
Which holes ? I dont have that problems
fixed
Witch holes ? I dont have that problems
I'm guessing he means the holes for the set screws in the axle.
I don't have a lot of first hand experience with changing axles, so I'm no help here.
^ This brake rust thing happens every time it rains. I've found a way to stop it, and it's brilliant! But, alas, I'm not telling you. That could give some of the surprise away.
inb4 oil on the rotor.
You hardly even use the brakes in the wet anyways, but what is this magical technique you use?
I got a new trailer. That will keep my rotors dry. And, I'm not talking rain on the track, I'm talking about being in the middle of that monsoon weather () in Guelph last weekend (June 1st,) when there were tornadoes and things. A little bit of brake rust isn't bad compared to having your kart/trailer carried away by the wind...
One of my friends did a full 10 minute race with 1 hand on the wheel and the other doing the throttle cable because it had snapped and he passed someone into the quickest part of the circuit and he came 3rd
No,lol,he races in super1 and he is a very skilled driver
Nice, I want to race in Super One but I don't have the funds...!
Same but I'm not a quick driver but I came 5th out of 18 in one of my races at Teesside Autodrome which I was happy about but none of the alien drivers were there luckily
D:
(If it was on the last lap, then you could have probably just held it open with your hand.)
Accident at my track today. Driver caught the barrier and flipped. 3 cracked ribs, broken vertebrae and a bruised lung. Is in hospital now. I wasn't there to see it but good luck to him and get well soon! There is a video I will link later.
