Ahhhh, Race Day.

This time, it's a qualifying format, instead of that annoying "make as many passes in 8 laps to get starting position for the feature race" nonsense. I feel good! Today will probably be a good day. :)

Good luck!
I have a practice run at my local track tomorrow before going to another new track (for me) for the 3rd round of the GPS. I'm excited.

Depends on the definition; I'm not exactly fast, so I consider myself alien-slow.

Well, "alien drivers" that are good seem to make time out of nowhere and are robotic-like smooth and consistent. Guess I'm a bit of an alien driver myself (my laptimes are usually within .1 of a second) .

Lol, I'm only 0.5 off of the aliens. Oh, and I'm still learning the kart.

And good luck GTRacer38! Your wishes of "good luck" helped me to almost get a Top 10, before the 🤬 ripcord broke. /4cycleproblems

For some reason this thread hadn't popped up in my subs box for a while. I saw a few posts about super one. The two big championships (FKS and Super one) aren't as good as they sound. Having raced in FKS in cadets (back when it was called Stars of tomorrow), I can tell you it was a crash fest. It's a shame really, you expected to be racing with the best in the country, yet ended up racing with guys that were mid-pack at club level, with parents willing to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds a year to get them near the front at national level. All gear, no idea :(. Guess Motorsport is just meant to be that way :(

There's actually a guy at my kart track with his own, personal mechanic. He doesn't have broken rip cords. That is motorsports, gokartman.

What is a ripcord? I have a feeling it's one of those words that has a different meaning across the atlantic ;)

No need to be all European about this.

I believe it's the thing you pull to start the engine.
TaGs are better anyways. :P

It is the thing you pull to start the engine.

However, TaGs are non-existent in Canada... And the only guy from our kart club who races TaGs spends $50,000 a year on it, and doesn't even race in his native country; your country is not a fun place to race in, yet, gatrs. I'm not going to be bothered with my (lack of) passport just to go racing.

Ahh, now I know what he means . Tag's are lovely, until you see that little puff of smoke coming from the ignition. Always a sinking feeling :(

Honda's inexpensive, and the motor is reliable. The mechanics are all idiots, I admit, and I include myself in that list. However, TaGs would be so much more fun if there was a class of more than one single TaG kart in my neck of the Boreal woodlands.

Edit: I kid you not, I've counted, and yes, I made it all of the way through high school, so I know how to count.

Well, I won't be taking my kart to Canada to race against one person.
TAG is a big class here in Aus.

Good idea. 💡

But, :indiff: no amount of differences in the motor will save you from the world of reckless drivers.

Yes, everyone was able to walk away from this. Yes, everyone was able to drive their karts in the next race. But... No, I didn't like this. Thank you, motorsports safety advocates. You've done an awful lot to make sure no one gets dangerously hurt.

Ah! No! This can't be happening! :( 13th in points because DQ'd or something?! Stupid rip cord!

Further analysis:

In terms of my performance in the races I can finish, I'm hitting my marks and meeting all of my goals. Kart #51 quickly made it up through the field. :)

And, some eye-candy.

(so, that's where the scratches came from!)

wat

Innisfil was several classes, so does BSKRC.

And Mel, get a spark plug cover that doesn't have that bit sticking out, if someone runs over you it'll tear it right off.

(And what happened in that video, didn't see anything major.)

Ah, I thought you were talking about the first spin.

Last photo you posted, it looks like you're running this type of plug cover.

You should get this kind.

Probably no more than a few bucks.

Alright, I'll see if Collison has any.

I told you about my 38.4, right? 'cuz, I certainly would like to try to find 3 more tenths, if I can. Can you help? PM, VM, anything. :) Remember, we're talking about a BSRKC race.

Oh, and, speaking of, I have to run Sr. Heavy for the BSRKC events, no more Sr. Medium. So, where can I find ballast?
