Good to hear that đź‘Ť

Has anyone asked him to remove SRF for the seasonal yet?

Yes, and anyone throw in fixing the draft in passing?

And thanks a lot Akira, definitely more than appreciated. There'd be a lot more sensationalism around here if it weren't for your clear and unbiased reporting đź‘Ť

Didn't someone say they tested the drafting out and it's less intense (or some other word)? He said it was more true to life now.

Yuuuuup đź‘Ť

It's great to hear that PD are working on fixing bugs in the settings system.
Thanks alot for your translations Akira!!!!:)đź‘Ť

Yes, the draft is much less. The users car is still faster than the rest of the field. It has to be. Otherwise the user will never win. The AI doesn't make "mistakes" other than braking very early. The AI doesn't have "offs". The AI doesn't over shoot braking zones. The AI doesn't take bad lines.

If the AI was realistic and cars were all equal, it would be impossible to win these 2, 3, 5, and 10 lap "sprints". The number of people playing this game would drop by 90%.

That would make for an interesting challenge to say the least.

Yeah you wouldnt win, but it doesnt mean you cant change the nature of the these events to suit more competitive AI, instead of having to over take 16 cars in the same as yours, give the player a faster car or have less cars to over take. It can be frustrating sometimes, that even when you're driving a slower car and driving camly the AI are still much slower than you.

When you guys say drafting is fixed, do you mean for just the Seasonal or in the whole game? I haven't had a chance to race online since the update, so I was curious.

The exaggerated draft is still there. The NASCAR car on the seasonal was about 30 km faster with draft just like before the patch. So, no, its not fixed yet. :nervous:

The AI actually DOES make mistakes, it sometimes overcook it's cornering by oversteering it or overshoot it's braking zones, especially when there are other AI around fighting for their position, however this is so rare that it isn't really noticeable. And further, yes I totally agree on your post, otherwise the game would be too hard. And I also notice a difference in the drafting.

I, honestly, haven't noticed any difference at all. If it is reduced like many of you are claiming, I can tell that it's still unrealistic. I still love GT5 anyways, but it would be nice to have a realistic draft option at least.

So I searched for rewind and other features in replay mode in this thread and never really found anything from Kaz but on another site This Link I did.

This is a post about the topic and it has a qoute from SHIRAKAWA Akira and at the bottom it says the post is at GTP but when I click it is not found here. Does anyone know when it it was tweeted? (wow Dec) because it says that the latter is possible but the former is not for the next update here is the tweet.

The former can’t [be accomplished] for the next update. The latter will become possible. RT @fabiosantana79: @Kaz_Yamauchi Please include things like rewind and slow motion in replays in the next update. Currently when the replay is over it’s not even possible to play it again.

I guess nothing else has been said about this?

There is a new button in replay mode when paused , (at least I only noticed it for the first time the other night -post 1.11)

Its not a rewind button but a "return to top" function which restarts the replay without having to exit to the main replay selection menu.

That said , its pretty useless anless you want to watch the first part of the replay over and over.....

It's not new, I've seen this button before the update.
However, It doesn't appear during every replay. Only when you complete a race and not if you stop before the end.
Not sure about this though.

Hmm.. no. It appears if you are in full view (not the overview containing all drivers, splits and lap times) and paused the replay.

Word irony of photograph. “The announcement intention” sentence… to the effect and the range must be thought “the copy” not only it is probably will be.

How hard can it be to program rewind/fast forward? :scared:
It depends on how replays are managed in-game. If the simulation/physics is calculated in realtime from an initial state defined at the beginning of the replay file it might be difficult as any interruption or break in the flow might also break replay coherence with what actually happened in race. But if it really works that way, that would be a poor design for a replay system.

If that's the situation, it would be "the same" during pause in a race. No?

Pause just puts everything on hold. Maybe I chose the wrong terms: not "interruption" or "break", but rather "disturbance". Anyway, this just a speculation on my own and personally I think that if the underlying system is correctly designed there shouldn't be any problem, aside GUI/usability, in implementing "video player" features in replays.

That's not a B-52 in that link.

Maximum they can do is a Previous Lap - Next Lap buttons. I don't know how they can do a rewind option because replay is very same as a game, but with prerecorded inputs. This is as hard as forward, rewind buttons in Quake replays, only harder because of limited PS3 power, otherwise B-Spec fast forward will be possible too.

However I dream about 1/2-1/4 time buttons!
