Supposedly these spec updates revamp the entire game basically and add things in that should have been there from the start.

^That doesn't mean it should have been there from the start. Because to put it in in the start, you have to put in the work, and that's all your statement proves.

A game replicating real life, can continue for more than life. 2 years more is what he wanted for this game.(Same years he probably lost with PSP/Prologue). But he didn't so we got what got nothing more nothing less. It's obvious you can always want to add more.

Think before you think you're thinking.

Such ignorance, Kaz himself stated the game needed 2 more years in development. Think before you post.

Exactly what I was getting at. And we all know that Sony pressured him to get it out. If he had gotten 2 more years in the dev department, that I'm pretty sure most of us wouldn't be b*tchin' the way we are because we more than likely would have already had the stuff coming in Spec 2, as well as DLC upon launch. I figure due to the fact that it was released when it wasn't ready that they hadn't created DLC yet and that's why it's been taking so long. They could have worked on DLC if it had that last 2 years in development.

^That has nothing to do with what we got.

Are you being ridiculous or just plain basic? You really think GT5 is a finished polished product? Dream on sunshine....He wanted 2 more years to finish the game, finish the game not have to release update after update just to fix bugs and other crap that would be unlikely to exist had it been released in 2012.

If he got two more years then we would probably not get DLC. Remember Kaz said he didn't want to do DLC, he wanted the game finished when it shipped.

Again if the game was finished then we would not be getting DLC. Because from the start he did not want to do that. So that means he is giving us stuff that he intended to have on the disc from the beginning.

Also I never said it was finished/polished product, I actually said quite the contrary. When creating a game depicting real life, there will always be something more to add, because you are trying to recreate real life on the 3D level.

Repeating yourself makes your point more and more laughable. What we're most likely getting in this 'Spec 2' update is what was meant to be there from the start. Harp on about it replicating real life but you're just being another fanboy with their hands on their ears going "LALALALALALALALALALALACANTHEARYOULALALALALALA".

I was actually trying to show you my edit on the first sentence, but the way you respond is like a little kid.

I also added in the last sentence.

When replicating anything from real life, EVERYTHING from real life can be thought of to be implemented from the start. OBVIOUSLY.

The only thing limiting, is to put in the work. Soooo if it was supposed to be there from the start, it would have been. OBVIOUSLY.

So real life is over exaggerated physics (drafting for one)? No tyre model? Cars only going up to 2010 with 80% of all cars being of last gen console quality? The list can go on and on, tell me that's real life....

That's the dynamics of replicating it in real life, and bringing it into the coded world.

I never said it would be perfect, that's just the obvious progression of game development. In anything.... ie: FM3 permanent steering assist was replicating what?

What we got is a person believed to have a set goal as well knows his time frame to achieve said goal.

Now when an outside influence pressures a finish. Release. The game maker then has to deliver an unfinished but yet playable game. One in which if he hadn't had the time taken away he would achieved a finished product. One the maker would call finished. Complete.

So I personally don't see why there is an argument. Over what?

Work = time and effort. Time was taken away.

Mitch, you're really getting out of line. I'd cheer up if I were you and watch your blood pressure level, because you're walking a pretty treacherous line lately. I'd say you were surrounded by a pretty good crop of you-know-whats in the Forza area, so it's not exactly a good place to hang out and be frank about anything dealing with Forza.

As Owens says and I have before, PD had a lot of stuff foisted on them from SONY such as producing GT PSP first, and making GT5 universally 3D, things T10 didn't have to deal with. In fact, even with a lot of work farmed out to third party shops in the orient, the Forza games haven't been the massive extravaganzas that GT4 and 5 are.

You may hate the Standards, but it's growing increasingly clear that it's a minority opinion. Most of us want to have those cars than not have them, and if that offends your sensibilities, oh well on you. You'll have your precious in a couple of weeks anyway, before we'll have our update, so surely you have something to feel less grumpy about. Just a thought. ;)

Eat up a lot of hard drive space. With goodies. :D

Jeepers! Wouldn't you know, I'd be too tired this morning to do more than finish a post from last night...

Lucky me, GT5 and every other files related to it are the only files on my 160GB PS3 HDD. I have Portal on my iMac and those two are the only games I have in my possession. Admittedly I have Portal because it was free and I have GT5 because I love cars and everything that has to do with them.
