Anyone else notice that there are 16 cars on track? If that's taken from an A-Spec race (or similar) then that would be interesting. Especially as it's a small track, Tsukuba.

Just trying to spark discussion. :D

  • Looking at that screenshot, it looks like the Race Car DLC pack will just be more RM's. Hopefully that isn't the case because I seriously want some more proper Race Cars like that N24 GT-R.
  • The red car behind the RX7 looks like a RM R34 Skyline. Anyone agree with me?
  • Any guesses on the headlight of the car behind the Impreza?

Overall very pleased with the propsed updates. The only other thing I was actually expecting was some sort of sorting system for your Garage. Timppaq has some very good points too. 👍

Thanks Kaz & PD. :)👍

These are screenshots of the spec 2.0 update and what's going to be included. DLC information are yet to be released too, so I don't think the RMs are the race car packs that's being talked about?

The red car definitely looks like a R34 to me. As for the car behind the Impreza, it's nearly impossible to tell, but if I'm following the pattern, I'm guessing it's another Japanese car. Of course, I could be dead wrong. There's no other way to tell that I know of.

Good point. Would you agree though that the RX7 and Impreza look like new forms of car which can't be recreated in GT5 right now? In which case there's more to 2.0 than what has already been listed.

I think they could of just made it where we have the ability to RM more cars in GT5 for spec 2.0

Why? You can have 16 car races since the first or second patch also in Arcade.

You can get 16 cars on a track in Arcade mode.

Interior view in standard cars is the last thing I wanted. What happened to converting standards to premium or is this the solution? Furthermore, it only adds to the amount of inconsistency that standard cars have a varying level of interior detail.

It's good enough. You don't know what else is going to come in the future.

Looks like an EvoIX to me, which we already have.

I know my Evo, so I don't think it's one. The most revealing part on the red car is the hood. Even if it is an Evo, the RM version we currently have doesn't look like that.

He said 3rd week of October, that could be any time.

"Today, I am very pleased to announce details of Functionality Update 2.0 which is the most sizable since the game launched. The update will be available for download on the 11th October. Of course the real bonus of all of this new content is the fact that it’s all absolutely free!"

6 days + 1 week for the DLC. And that's 2 weeks from now...Sorry for double post.

Are you expecting them to convert all 800 standards to premium? That would be crazy.

This is certainly a step in the right direction. While probably not all, I'm confident by Kaz's word that some will be upgraded to premium. Since this is the case, the cars that won't be upgraded to premium, at least people have a generic interior as option.

I like the interior view on standards idea. I dislike having to switch to chase view everytime I want to drive a standard personally... and the open top cars seem to have the best interior views! Jay Leno tank car anyone? :dopey:

Here's something new for ye, notice the helmet on (Tony Stewart) in the NASCAR...

There are many duplicates/similar models.
With some modifications to the existing Premium cars they could convert a lot of Standard cars to Premium (or at the very least Premium without a full cockpit view).

No, I'm just afraid that this is a comprise which results in no standard cars being upgraded to premium. I would really like if they could slowly phase out the standard cars but instead they give them further attention. We can only hope that this is step in the right direction towards at least a few premium upgrades.

Absolutely. There are like 30 Miatas, 20 RX-7's, God knows how many similar Skylines and many more! It would be like 100 premium cars modeled in 2 months!
