Sorry, never knew you could get random AI car competitors. Thought you could only do one-make races, or is that just in 'Practice'?

Yes, in practice mode you only have one-mak-races with 8 cars. Quick races on custom tracks and Arcade have 16 cars.

No, I'm just afraid that this is a comprise which results in no standard cars being upgraded to premium. I would really like if they could slowly phase out the standard cars but instead they give them further attention. We can only hope that this is step in the right direction towards at least a few premium upgrades.
Maybe most of the standards will be upgraded to premium in G6.

Absolutely. There are like 30 Miatas, 20 RX-7's, God knows how many similar Skylines and many more! It would be like 100 premium cars modeled in 2 months!

Who said that they are completely same? Do you realize that interiors are different? (Maybe little but anyway), not to mention left/right driver position.

They are giving the standard cars attention because the interior view was one of the most asked for features.
I think we will still get some standard cars converted to premiums but it will be the more iconic ones.

The standards all have cockpit view now, just not fully modeled. When I read "Support for G25/G27 Wheels" I was in tears. I literally cried. This is the most supported game this generation, and with all this support, it will be(i think already is) the most complete video game this generation. Fantastic work PD, outstanding. I would love to sit down with Yamauchi and just have a nice conversation. The world needs more people like him. I have loved GT5 since day 1, and surprisingly, that love keeps growing. :)

That would require the team's researchers to track down and 3-D scan and model the interiors as well as the exteriors.

Don't hold out false hope, the workload to do that for a small development team is much too intensive. There will be no mass upgrade of GT5 standard cars to premium, but there will be new premium car pack DLC.

This.

There is NO such thing as "standard car upgraded to premium". It's just a simplified phrase. They need to model a whole new car. Even physics needs to match GT5 engine.

I already know this. I am satisfied with what we have with GT5 and what will be in spec 2.0. I am not one of those that are always crying and whinging because the game is'nt what they want it to be.

Link please.

There's also an RM 2011 Impreza Sedan too...

Here's something new for ye, notice the helmet on (Tony Stewart) in the NASCAR...

Very nice indeed...

They've had individual drivers helmets since launch (In arcade mode at least), Look in my Focus it has Mikko Hirvonen's suit and helmet (I did have better pictures of the driver up close but deleted it from my flickr and my hard drive corrupted.)

I wonder if his latest tweet... The EU PS Blog tweet. is a hint to watch out for DLC news.

I think it's a hint to watch out on further information in general regarding the new content, since the new RM-cars seen in the image above will most likely be in Spec II, (EDIT:) and they are in now way announced other than the screenshot. ;)

HUH? You have no idea, what major issues? All MAJOR issues people asked for they are addressing..... Your major issues are not everyones. Nothing you stated is even close to major, those are minor gripes.

Fix Blocky Shadows

11th position

And if you exclude unrealistic demands like "Upgrade standard cars to premium", it's even higher. It is a major issue.

All they should do is to turn off or reduce inner shadows on cars and it should solve the problem with shadows blinking.

"Better support for Fanatec and G25/27 wheels" is lower for 4 positions and now we have it.

I think you're overthinking things this time around.

Like modeling a completly new car? No, simply no.

Yea, but he didn't have that helmet last year. All i was saying was they didn't just model the cars and interiors for these NASCARs, they obviously also did the suits.

Why not? Lets say they have a photos, sounds and physics information of the GT4 car, but:

1. No cockpit photos (fail, they need new photos)
2. They are much lower resolution (not enough for GT5 detail)
3. It maybe not enough photos (they need more photos)

Sounds - at GT4 time there no such high quality sounds at it in current gen racers. Even at that time GT4 sounds wasn't good. (NFS4 HS for PS1 has better sounds) They've simulated them somehow in GT5 but many of them are just the same. (maybe just PD took specific engine noises instead of particular car noise)

Physics - I don't know if those parameters are enough for GT5 physics engine. Of course they modelled them somehow in GT5, but I really doubt they are as accurate as in premiums. (maybe they've matched some new Premium car physics to same, non-premium model)
6 years a long time! And GT5 has completely new physics. Only Kaz know what else they have researched about cars in those years.

US Playstation Blog Announcement: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/10/05/gran-turismo-5-new-free-updates-dlc-and-price-drop/ Weird how the EU blog states a release date for Spec 2.0 for October 11th, and US blog doesnt state any release date at all. Is it coming on the 11th or the 3rd week of October like Kaz said? Im thinking the latter is the real one.

Some of the other improvements introduced are greatly reduced load times when loading races, quicker menu response times, and adjustable opponent AI in Arcade Mode
New bonus incentives are introduced for players who log in and play on a consistent basis.

Take a look @ the icon with the tire and the water drop percentage. Looks like we're going to be able to use some of the tracks in a sunny day but with water on track like GT4 Tsukuba was... this will be great for photos, etc...

Does High Speed Ring even have weather currently? I can't remember.

Plus this

For those who enjoy racing online with your fellow gearheads, we’re expanding the shuffle race mode. As with the same feature in Gran Turismo PSP, this allows friendly competition between players of different skill levels. Players setting up online races will also have a host of new regulations available to customize their own events. New bonus incentives are introduced for players who log in and play on a consistent basis.

👍👍👍
