I totally agree. It seems to be more and more often people trying to tell others what to do and how to do it. These people are complete and total DOUCHEBAGS!!

Douchebag: someone who thinks highly of themselves and their own opinion and cares only about what they want and has no regard for anyone else.

I find it almost intolerable how people tend to be police, judge, and jail guard of a supposed "correct way" of playing GT5.

It's not my business if someone wants to play the game for 24 hours straight. I won't cry here for such thing to be made impossible.

But it is beyond me how some people here seem to think they can tell me how should I play the game, and how they actively call for a BAN on feature A, or cry foul if feature B is under development ... just because they think THEIR way of playing the game should be ENFORCED on others.

IMHO, the GT5 design decision to take out game saves between championship races is - putting it nicely - retarded.

IMHO, it is obvious that mid race saves for the long enduros (definitely for the 24 hour ones) will make these races "doable" (hope this word exists) for many people that, otherwise, will simply let them undone.

AND, surprise surprise ... doing them non-stop is still possible, so WHY is anyone complaining. Nothing will be taken out. Only added.

Police wannabees ... mind your own business, play your games whatever way you like.

he is really active on twitter , im really shocked , i thought hes much busier and he has much more to do !

but still its nice having the game producer on twitter and tell him if we are happy or we aint and what are our problems with the game , what we like or what we hate :D

Eh, just let him have his say and move along.

That's some sage adviced.

Of course, the fact that he's completely wrong is another matter. ;)

If only you could resist temptation enough to follow your own advice though :)

It's because of all the complaining about Special Events being too hard that PD lifted the restrictions. With people like Deve, PD can do nothing right, and he changes his tune to "PD listens to the kids too much," "PD won't listen to anyone" to suit his posts.

Ummmm... PD can do no right? I didn't say I loved the original special events? I ddin't chime in very positively on the "SSR5 is the most fun I have had yet" thread? I didn't say I think the premium cars are gorgeous? I don't regularly host lobbies online where I have actually been complimented on how well I run them and people enjoy the pace and type of races I setup? See the problem D, is you have very selective memory... with a not very subtle hint of confirmation bias.

Someone here is completely wrong... but it's not me :D

BTW - about being completely wrong - here is the post in question. Please feel free to explain why you feel any of what I said is wrong... oh that's right... it's not ;)

What?

Are you talking about the last 5 years where pretty much everything the fans hoped and dreamed for was completely left out of GT5 and not even things the fans obvioulsy loved in GT4 made it?

Or are you talking about the last few weeks where they tried to fix those problems and have becomea revolving door of "solutions" and mistaking PD figuring out things that are obviously broken with listenting to fans telling them they are broken?

Where was the listening to fans about restrictions on seasonals? What about seasonals at all? What about the need to be able to invite people to rooms online or revamping the online all together?

I can only think you are cherry picking or don't realize that a guy putting out fire in his kitchen while everyone around him yells "FIRE" isn't really "listening" to other people... he's just not a COMPLETE moron.

Nothing was "wrong" with the post, because it's just your opinion after all, but I will admit it was a bit over the top.

Not sure about the relevance of the fire extinguisher analogy either...

The relevance was that saying PD listens becuase they fix obvious and glaring bugs is like saying someone listend to you telling him his house was on filre because he put out the fire... it's entirely possilbe (and likely) it has nothing to do with listening and more to do with not being totally incompetent (as they would have to be to not see some of the obvious problems they have attempted to fix).

OMG someone released a program with bugs in it :dunce:

Honestly, some of the issues aren't even bugs. Look at the AI for example. Yes, there were some cases of the AI being "zombie-ish" but many times the AI was holding a racing line (holding being the key word) and would hit you if you moved into their line. Aggresive, yes. Realistic? Well, most competitive racecar drivers won't flash their lights and slow down to let you pass. Since it appears PD was listening to all the crying over how the AI was too aggressive in holding their position, they've now turned them into a bunch of little creampuffs that will slam on their brakes and swerve away to give you the line. Didn't seem to be a bug fix, it seemed to be a whining fix (in my opinion).

Booom goes the dynamite, what does Kaz think about the shift 2 tracklist?

Ah I know, "We close our eyes and only see our own GT world. We never play any other game because our game is the best. We do everything right and all other games are ********."

There are at least 10 fantastic tracks in this list! GT5 is only Nordschleife, Le mans and Monza (for me)

Couldn't agree more. As tracks lists go, it's pretty much unrivalled. Just hope it's not as much as a dissapointment as the first one.

That list certainly looks impressive. Surely it depends on how it's implemented though?

Having the track licensed is one thing, having the track look and feel right is another - I'll reserve judgement until I can play it.

I'm still angry that Spa is not in GT5!!! somebody tweet Kaz asking why.

I am not. For me one of the most overestimated tracks. Of course it is a good track and fun to drive....but not really an absolutely must-have.

I´ve driven it very often in other sims and after some time, it gets very monotonous and not very challenging. The track has nothing, where you get this "oh my god"-feeling, if you exclude the Eau-Rouge.

You got an point, unfortunately EA games look like EA games... No other logos and ads than EA logos...

So ok, sorry, back to topic...

Who cares about tracks, when the game has one of the most terrible handling systems in any racing game?

It's made by the GTR and GTL creators so could be a very serious challenger to GT5.

It certainly has an outstanding track and car list and right now all I want to know from PD is if more content will be added.

at least you can see how terrible the car physics feel on a ****load of track, not old GT1 tracks and endless variations of new ones.

strtgng
Why? We just spent the last 10 pages it seems on debating the morality of game saves during enduros...the original topic is long gone!

"Oh ok, then its perfectly and obviously ok to stay off-topic from now on"

The save option was related to his tweet about it. This track discussion isn't.

The original topic is pretty dynamic, as its about his tweets, typically the latest, so calling it long gone isn't very valid.

+1

I'd much rather have a bunch of smaller tracks that are more technical.

Okay, that's more than enough off-topic bickering and other-game-discussing. This can head back onto the original topic and point of the thread - you can always head to the Shift sub-forum for that particular discussion, or one of the myriad duplicating threads for the other one.

Can somebody tweet this to Kaz. With the world "Please" at the end of it. :D

1. GT5 - DLC Pack 1: Sebring International Raceway & Team Signatech Nissan ORECA O3 LMP2: EUR 10

Maybe I'm dreaming but there are just some obvious and missed marketing opportunities here. Here the original GT Academy winner will be racing in a factory backed LMP car from one of the all time classic endurance races. How about a little cross promotion. I think Sony and PD are just asleep on this. :indiff:

True... Nordschleife on Shift 1 looks crap. Even GT4 one is WAY better.

Sorry for the off-topic...

Have you driven it in real life? I'm just interested to know because I've driven it in both a stripped but essentially stock S14 on slicks and a 500bhp GTS-T drift car on sport tyres and, personally, I thought it was AMAZING. It's an INSANE track and requires a HUGE amount of nerve and skill to drive it 'on the limit'.

And I'm not exactly a newb, I've competed at Silverstone, Rockingham, Donington, Aulton Park, Knockhill, Castle Coombe, Bradns Hatch and Snetterton to name a few, and I've tested at Nurburgring Nordschleife, Spa, Dijon Prenois etc etc and for me, the only track which is more challenging, and as a result more rewarding, is the Nordschleife. Nothing else comes close (except maybe Dijon in the wet ;) )

Please can someone tweet Kaz and ask him about Spa. We already know they modelled it, so the hard work is done :(

Fixed.
I don't see how overpriced DLC are a dream. If else, what you should ask Yamauchi is that he (in reality however, Sony/SCE) doesn't charge for new content, also in the light of the unpaid beta-testing job that users are doing on the unfinished and buggy product that is GT5. Or do you actually want to pay more? That's like wanting to get screwed out on purpose, in my view.

Please do know your rights as a consumer. Don't be fooled to get exploited by hardware/software gaming companies, and don't let them know you're willing to.
