If that really is what the game will be like when released it'll be absolutely incredible!
We shall see in a years time!

That was awesome.
I'm still not done the first Killzone, but i'm loving how tough it can get. Keeps me coming back to it whenever I find myself playing too much GT4.

I saw the launch vid on gamespot for it.........and DAMN I want that game!!!.....people say ' oh the playstation doesnt have Halo!' .......who needs it when you have a game this good!

Holy ****! I forgot about Halo watching this. That is amazing! I guess I have to get that game now. By the way, Killzone for PS2 is highly underrated. It's not a Halo 2 or 1 clone. For those who haven't played it, rent it. You can beat the game with one character and then beat it differently with another.

I love the flame effects in the vids it looks so lush glad the graphics are as great as CGI.

If that is really the game play towards the end and not some glorified trailer to the game then I am very impressed.

There's a great moment where you see an ISA ally take out a Helghan with his rifle butt to save your bacon... is that representative of the kind of sophisticated behaviour we'll start seeing in artificial intelligence when PS3 arrives?

Jan-Bart: Yes, totally, it's just the start. Characters will be very aware, very alert to how they might be able to help you. That moment [with the rifle butt] is a good example of how it can add a little visual 'wow' to it all.

Is the Killzone sequence a fair example of what people can expect from realtime gameplay on PlayStation 3?

Jan-Bart: Yeah, it's basically a representation of the look and feel of the game we're trying to make.

Have you found PS3 easy to work with?

Jan-Bart: Yes, we're really impressed with it. The Cell is amazingly powerful, and the graphics CPU [the RSX, co-developed with Nvidia] in there... it's actually hard to mimic it on our development PCs, we have to see it on the PS3 hardware itself. It's really nice to be working with such powerful hardware.

As yet, high definition TV isn't that widespread, especially in Europe - are you concerned that some players won't get to see your game in as much detail as is intended?

Jan-Bart: No, I think in two, three years' time, HDTV will be a lot more accepted, in Europe too. We'll start out with 720p and then [onto 1080p] as there's now this product [PS3] that people will want to buy a new TV for.

I'm watching G4's coverage and a guy very high up in the PS3 thing said that the developers wanted to make it very clear that the footage you see in that Killzone video is GAMEPLAY.

Yeah, I´ve just read that on another forum. There was a huge thread about it, sony´s fanboys on one side and xbox/nintendo fanboys on the other.

It wasnt CG pre-renders nor was it an actual game. It was exactly like the Unreal 3 engine demo but on video. All the real time demos had presenters I'm sure if Gurrilla was invited to showcase the demo they would have.

Just look at the Final Fantacy demo again real time and it looked incredible showcasing its very possible we will be playing the same thing we saw of Killzone.

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

Those mens look real hunky! :embarrassed: 👍 Killzone 2 just blew my mind away and right now I felt like as if that was really me in there....THIS GAME GOT TO BE BOUGHT ON RELEASE DATE!!!

Time for me to fold my kitty ears back, put on my war helmet, sharpen my claws and by Killzone 1. Too bad I didnt buy it yet because I was not sure if I would really like it. Got to buy it to know what is happening! :embarrassed:

I think IGN had a video of someone or the AI playing Unreal 3 it looked just as good as the first Unreal 3 video during the sony conference.

👍 Agreed. After watching that movie a few times i really really want to play it! I think i'll have to contemplate playing Killzone sometime soon :)

You guys should rent it first in my opinion. Personally I think it´s a great game, but it has some flaws that earned the game some bad scores.

The main problem is its framerate, which sometimes it´s pretty low. But the game is pretty much what this video shows, only with less action going on and PS2 graphics. :P

Well sure it won't be the final production gameplay (HUD). But that's what type of detail you will be seeing when playing it. I'm sure that HUD will clutter the screen. :indiff:

There's no slow down either. :)

That's one of the things that let me down in the first Killzone.

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

mmm isn't the control a bit clumsy in Killzone also? :odd: I played the OPM demo and thats what I picked up. Did the actual game actually fixed this a bit? :embarrassed: :odd:

 I actually watched G4 tv only because it had E3 info and they showed supposited IN GAME vid of this game. Eric you know what this means right... :banghead:

Clumsy? How so? The controls were real responsive.

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I think I will take my word back on calling the controls for Killzone 1 clumsy. How about a bit slow. Possibly the best example of what I am looking for is the easy control of Halo. The way it is very simple to move the camera around. In Killzone1 (OPM demo) the camara just felt so awkward and lazy to me.

I am starting to think that I need to play that OPM demo again to see if I could be seeing things :odd:

Nahhhhh, your right maclaren's, the first killzone is not really a very good game, it's up there with "classics" such as red faction 2 and other "FPS games so average, no one really cares". So Killzone was average, we know that, and while the new one will look great, I just hope it plays better then the last, and that people don't just gush over the fact it looks uber.

You can adjust the controller settings to move faster if that´s what you want.

It plays fine to me.

Today, I was playing the demo from Official Playstation Magazine and I really think I need to take my word back now. The movement of the camera feels just like every other FPS and I think it was another game that is actually slow to me. :embarrassed:

I will be sure to adjust the controller settings when I get Killzone later this week! :embarrassed: Thanks for the info FatAssBR! :embarrassed:

Killzone 2 is a possible Halo killer.
