I have a question.... recently someone asked to add me to their friend's list, and I didn't recognize their PSN ID (Bonnie-vs-Clyde), and like soooo many add-me requests, they also didn't add any info about who they were in the body of the message (why do people do that???).

So before posting a repley asking who the heck they were as I didn't want to make them feel bad in the event I should have known who they are, the first thing I did was to check my Players Met list as that's an easy thing to do, and there name was no where to be found.

Next I checked their trophy list to see if it might ring a bell with me, and not only did it not, but I noticed they already had 8% of the Killzone 2 trophy completion done... and this was three days ago! I then checked the date and times of the trophies they had already earned for KZ2 and the first two they got were back on the 5th, nearly three weeks ago, followed by another on the 15th, and a few more early on in the morning of the 22nd.

Didn't this game just come out? :odd:

Official launch date is not until Friday, I do however know that a few shops in Dubai apparently sold retail copies over the weekend. I don't however know of anyone who sold it that long ago.

The only other thing I can think of its a Sony employee, if you look at the rankings list over at Killzone.com the leaderboards already have quite a few people showing, so of whom I recognise from the official forums (Sony mods, etc).

After this point I just straight up ask. I had some guy try to tell me we went to "teh sam skool, bro" and when I queried further about which school he then said he was mistaken and saw my high score in a gaming mag. That was a quick no.

I did end up sending them a reply as I don't want mystery stalkers on my friends list! :nervous:

However, looking at their PSN status, they have not been back online in the meantime in order to get it.

Did they have any LBP trophies? Maybe he met you a while ago online.

That's what I have to assume is true, as that is the only game they have trophies for that I play online, and I do regularly play with 2-4 player games with random players, so I suspect that must be it... although it would have to have been before Jan 29th as that is the date of the last person on my current Players Met list.

Anyway, back on topic, was there a Killzone 2 beta, and maybe they got the trophies from playing that?

Ahh I know what it is as I've got a friend on my friends list with KZ2 trophys, there was a number of review copys that went up on sale on Ebay a week or so ago, funny thing was that the multiplayer side of things dosn't work so everyone who got them could only play single player. I'll go find the link on Joysitx.

Think you're pretty slick picking up an overpriced promo disc from eBay, don't you? Well then, you won't feel so smooth after reading this. Guerrilla says those promotional copies of Killzone 2 lack a vital component of the game: its online features. For those who can't do the math, that's half a game for four times the price. That equals ... not such a good deal after all.

If you want to play the game early, it's you might want to download the free demo from the European PlayStation Store instead. Just saying.

That's just because the servers are not up and running yet, I believe it has been confirmed that the review copies will work on-line once the servers are up (and I've read a few threads on other forums saying that they are now up and running).

Yeah they seem to be up acording to killzone.com.

Am in Uni at the moment so gouing to head back to my halls at around 3 to see if it has arrived.

Saw quite a few copies of Killzone 2 around today, obviously retailers who have jumped the gun and opened the stock the minute they got it!

As for those promo copies I thought it was rediculous that people were paying up to 100 quid for them a week ago... and now they find that they arnt even getting half the game!

I think that review copies (white BR discs dated December 08 with black lettering, part of an Press-kit) will NOT work, sice thy've been issued with special product-code which demands different DSN server to play than public servers.

However, official Sony Promo-BR copies (white discs with red stripe) WILL work, because those are the same BR as retail BR, only without original packaging and disc-print.

You ordered on Amazon? I had GTA4 delivered on launch day with super saver shipping.:sly:SO, keep my fingers crossed. 💡

Really? Did the site say anything about a launch-day option for GTAIV? I'm thinking i won't get it on the launch-day because there is an actual option that you can pay a little extra to guarantee you receive it that day.

But i hope you're right. 👍

Yeah I have 5 hours of lectures tomorrow. Its a games course though, think they would understand? LOL

Doesn't playing KZ2 count as research?

I'm also out tomorrow night for a curry with a load of my wife's work friends, one of the few times I don't want to go out for a curry.

All I can say is that I intend to do very little actual work from home on Friday.

Students......LOL

Just been looking through the KZ2 website, seems to be all working now even the battle replay feature. You can basicly go look at a player or clan and you'll be shown a list of there recent matches then you can watch a tactical replay of the whole match! fantastic idea, here go try this link to see what I mean, you may need to go sighn into the site first but I'm not sure

Theres alot of information in thee and as clan suport goes it's prety much got everything covered! even down to future matches and of course replays of previous matches so you can see how a team operates on a certin map. One thing which did stand out is the valour sstem where it costs say 10 valour points to enter a clan match with the winner getting the 20 valour points and the loser, well losing there 10 points. plus theres alot of stuff where you can look at the team as a whole and see whos good at what from acuracy to favourite weapons. This will seriously add depth to the overal gameplay of KZ2 and take the online aspects beyond the likes of COD. And yeah count me in for the GTP clan, anyone want to start a clan thread up? theres alot of info regarding this and just for starters we need a clan banner!

Search and Destroy at Radec Academy, great map and I could visualise it perfectly from the Beta. The ISA team got stomped as well, a lack of map knowledge was the undoing of the ISA team, they needed to send a squad in via the library (bottom right hand room) to flak the Helgast while another squad kept them busy at the front (same with the Helgast team on the second mission).

God I played the beta for too long and boy do I miss it.

General Scarf there remerising old war stories LOL But thats adsactly what the websites for, looking at your recent match and seeing where you went wrong, or checking out the compertition to see there weak points, and this alone makes it a fantastic system, I'll certainly be checking out where the best sniper points are using these maps!

Been playing it for the past two hours, this game is absolutely brilliant. 👍 The single-player campaign is so immersive, I can't believe it. Reminds me a lot of MoH and CoD. Online is also amazing, the various mission types are extremely fun and some of them really focus on team play. I think I'll be enjoying this game for quite some time. :)
