I agree with all of that except for the bit about Astons, they are in the elite when it comes to cool, they attract respect in much the same way a Ferrari gaurentees you'll get verbally abused at least once in the day. Imo the Aston Martin DB9 is the nicest looking, and quite possibly the coolest car in the world.

...Ohhh, and I love the small story about how the CC8 has the record for the most expensive traffic ticket ever, hitting 240MPH in Texas. I imagine not only the driver having to pay a huge fine, but I would be certain his liscence has been taken away for a while in Texas...
not true...
owner claimed he was going 240 then noticed a police car and braked hard and they caught him for doing 127mph,i have it on video

That depends on if he was really going 240mph, if he was the police wouldn't habe clocked him, he'd have been going far too fast for them. If he was adding a bit of artistic license and for example, saying he was going 80mph faster than he really was, that's another story.

Whats really dumb, is going that fast on a public road in the first place.

Poverty
well hes dumb should have kept going.
not really
how many CC8's are gonna be on that road with british plates
i would rather have slowed down and be caught at a lower speed that, would have kept going and been caught further up the road at 240

What did you guys think of the Prodrive car this week? It was one place below the second Koenigsegg on the board, but I'm not sure if that was the CCX without the wing or the old model Koenigsegg. They were talking about it relative to the Subarus and Mitsubishi Evos, as it was faster than the 400bhp Evo with 60 bhp less, thanks to their 4wd electronics on the car. It was more impressive to me that a 340bhp car was up there at the top close to the Koenigsegg and the others up there like the Zondas, Porsches, Ferraris and Astons. Still, they aren't going to go into production with it, and it was as augly as a bulldog chewing a wasp. The rocking back and forward on the suspension when it was going around looked a bit strange too, but I think they said that was the 4wd shunting the power around the wheels.

remember what happened with the model without the wing?
stig nearly died on that one, i thought the car was going to flip!
I don't think the Stig was anywhere near death during that crash. Yeah, it wasn't pretty, but I'm willing to bet he's been in much worse.

So was I, I was glad when I saw that it was a smaller more subtle wing.
Agreed - I was fearing a giant GT kinda thing. That small piece of discrete carbon fiber didn't hurt the CCXs sleek lines at all... Way to go Kooeeeniiiggsssseeeeeggggg !.... (<- as seen on the lap board)

You can find out in the Prodive P2 thread ;), but the Koenigsegg in question was the first one to come out, the CC8. But bhp is irrelevent imo, the fastest cars to lap the track have had a lot less power than the cars that top the powerboard, there's a lot more to designing a road car than track times and a lot more to designing either a road or track car than power. The fact that it doesn't have a lot of power yet manages that time is great, it shows great engineering, but it's not a bad reflection on other cars that it's nearly as fast as but have more power. Track perfomance is only a single aspect of what a car can be good or bad at and not the one that I have based any of my purchases on.

...There isn't any point to having 500+ BHP if the car, or yourself, cannot handle it. All youre going to be doing is spinning your tires, or going fast in a straight line, and thats about it.

"Balance" is something some cars have, and others do not. A good example of the "balance" issue would be the battle between the Corvette Z51 and Shelby GT500 Mustang in the newest issue of Car and Driver. The Mustang has a 100 BHP advantage, and being that it weighs less than 200 lb more, they should have been pretty close... They were not...

Prodrive made a great, well-balanced car. The same can be said of the 'Egg, given it's high-power and overall large size in comparison to some other cars. Of course, the "89-Octane" 'Egg is long-gone, replaced by the CCR and CCX. But the fact that it has stayed up there for so long is really a good way to show how great the car was even two-to-three years ago.
