The lister's have won more championships than any of the other cars on that grid, though the car's are probably too dated to win races now the teamsd running them are all private teams.

Most race car's are ugly, big ungainly wings and body kits arn't my thing be it the Aston DBR9 the C6R or the Storm GT1, but the looks of a race car arn't the issue, it's the function of the shape that matters.

Last I herd, Team Corvette was blowing the Prodrive DBR9s out of the water, hence the 35kg weight increase for the Houston race. The C6R apparently is outrageously fast, and very tough to beat. I'm not completely certain of the results for every race, as I'm going by the story posted on the Autoextremist website.
Since they won 10 races in a row, they were penalized with even more weight than that. They're up to 160+lbs. right now. Yet, they still won in Houston.

Really? Good to know... Wow, I guess Team Corvette has it figured out...!

Hey kids, Stigy did it...

...Now I wonder what the top-speed dropped down to...?

God damn, that thing was fast. The sounds of it flying past the hammerhead exit and where he bit it last time were both awesome.

Er...when did the Corvette team ever have Pirelli tires? Back in the C5-R days?

By the way, what's the news on the performance of the Corvette Z06-Rs that run in FIA GT3?

The highest team running C6Rs in the FIA GT is 5th overall, the team in first is runing MC12s, second is DBR9s can't remember third and fourth off the top of my head though.

Check what Jeremy says about the winged CCX when it's entering hammerhead &

DeLoreanBrown
The veyron's vorsprung & portliness are it's characteristic. V.different from the hammer-of-thor vibe ime getting offa the CCX bullet.

great minds / fools , ?

i think that wing that koenigsegg fitted on the ccx should be, from now on, an optional extra to all customers. much safer! 👍 i still love it without the wing, mind you, but you can't help accepting the fact that the car IS safer to drive with a wing.

It'll be faster to 60 too, faster in every way but high speed acceleration and top speed.

Some reason I expected some form of large GT wing, but this wing is a pleasant surprise, looks good.

So was I, I was glad when I saw that it was a smaller more subtle wing.

It looks like a slightly taller version of that found on the origional CC, obviously with more functionality built into it.

I would almost dare to say that the spoiler looks better on the car than when it did without, but speed freaks may be worried about the lowered top speed. But how much could it have dropped by? Anything over 243 is an improvement over the CCR, and that by any measure is incredible.

It was 250, I think you'd be looking at mid 230s, but relly to work it out accurately you'd need the Cd figures of the car with the wing on, I'm sure the gear ratios and frontal area sq ft are around somewhere, so you could work it out with the new Cd figure.

...Well, I belive the CCR did without the spoiler at 243 with "only" 650 BHP, but I'm not completely certain. There is that whole notion of an "aerodynamic limit" of top speed in many cars, but it would almost seem that 850-900 BHP would be enough to get the car past the CCR, despite the fact that it has a spoiler on the back.

It could do, it all depends on how that spoiler effects the cars drag coeficcient, there's no numbers on it published yet, but if the spoiler produces a certain ammount of drag then the car won't reach that speed, if the drag it produces stays below that ammount then it will still reach that speed. Ofcourse, with all that said, the CCX may well have enough power to go even faster than 250mph, it might be a matter of lift and gearing preventing Koenigsegg from going any quicker, if that's the case then the CCX is actually producing excess power, which would mean that there is a possibility of it still being able to hit 250mph, though I doubt that personlly it is a possiblity without knowing the figures. But what I'd really like to see, are Cd figures for the CCX with the wing.

I'm getting my competitions in a twist, the new FIA GT championship season starts this weekend.

the egg is better with the wing because no racetrack will allow you to go much past 200 anyway, and thats if your lucky.

It's better with the wing because the back end will stay put, not because a track won't have a straigh long enough to hit much over 200, I can think of a few tracks that cam but this car will still accelerate fast enough upto and over 200mph. Despite the car having the wing, it'll still go fast enough, worst case scenario is mid to high 230s imo, best case is it still hitting 250mph, though thats dependant on the car producing excess power in it's current form, and what fuel it was running on when hit it.

IMHO, it looks better with it, and I like the traditional wheels they had on it.

Order me one in red, please.

The CCx gets big thumbs up in my book. Though probably no match for my beloved Zonda Fangio in overall quality, it screams cool. In fact, along with the Sagaris, Veyron, Viper GTS, it is undisputedly cool. A like how hammond said that it was cool because there arent many better ways to die than to go through the pearly gates backwards in a fire ball of swedish supercar. Much cooler than those sissy astons in their undeserved fridge.
