Rumored to be:

0-400 under 20 seconds?
Over 1500bhp (i'm not sure if it's combined with e-motor / Koenigsegg Direct Drive / KDD or not.)
Dry weight of 1420kg
700hp of electric motor but Koenigsegg insist it's not a hybrid.

That is very... underwhelming.

I love how cab-forward it is. That combined with the long tail brings to mind the classic streamliner shape. I have a feeling this thing will be very fast.

Not bad. Yes, the side profile immediately gives away the fact that it is a Koenigsegg, but I like it. The interior itself defintely gives me Tesla vibes, guess that is the new trend in luxury car land. And at least, unlike other brands who promote their cars as "long-tailed" (cough Mclaren 675 cough), the Regera actually has one to back that term up. As for the wheels, I agree with Roc:

I like it expect for the wheels.....
3 spoke wheels:yuck:

Indeed, they look like something I'd draw. And I am not a good artist, I can tell you that much...

Well isnt this car basically a traditional hybrid ? Koenigsegg said he won't do one but here it is. 1,100 hp combustion engine with 3 eletric motors. One at the crank and two at the rear wheels.... Dayumm

Holy specs, Batman! The wheels may be somewhat tacky, but the specs sure aren't. The gearbox bit is slightly confusing me though, does that mean the car has a CVT transmission?

Probably not as we know it for a car, it's using a hydraulic clutch to manage the whole thing.

How it manages it all and still give the car a very high top speed is only known by the people who built it at the moment.

For an idea cooked up in 8 months, it will become quite a talking point about the Regera ( aside from the nutty power output of course :P).

Well, this transmission bit will definitely be the topic of many discussions about the Regera indeed. Christian Koenigsegg deserves merit, to create such an idea in only 8 months, and filling the right gap at the righ time (the demise of the Veyron will open the door for future clients going to Sweden to get a Koenigsegg). I want to see this thing being driven at top speed, just to see how it works in such a moment.

But I won't forgive the wheels, Christian. Come on, rich people may have bad taste, but you don't have to go for that yourself, man.

What happens when two of the world's most innovative companies work together to create the world's most powerful production car? Rimac Automobili supplies the world’s most power-dense battery-system and other components for the Koenigsegg Automotive AB Regera – the world’s most powerful production car.

The incredible Koenigsegg Regera - unveiled just now in Geneva.

I wonder if Rimac have any plans for Formula E. :embarrassed:

I've been reading that the twin turbo V8 is 1100hp on pump gasoline. Combined with the 700hp from the electric motors, that's 1800hp in a production hypercar.:crazy:

Welp, that's it, Koenigsegg have changed the hypercar game again.
i swear, if any other company does something so pointless as this i will be frustrated. I don't have anything against Koenigsegg doing this, but by god, its nothing but 'my car is faster than yours :P'.

Damn it it's just some super/hyper/mega/whatever-car. Was really hoping for an offroad beast as something different.

There's always next year...

1800 hp? Well, they just doubled the power of regular hypercar, that must be some sort of an achievement for them to boast about.

It may be pointless, but not when it comes to marketing. You know what they say, speed sells. And if you're faster than your rivals, rich people will respond by playing that game, after buying the car, against their rich friends. It may be ego-stroking, yes. But when it makes a profit, it works.

Now now, let's not go that way yet, let Koenigsegg do their own game for a while longer. Doing an offroad car is something Porsche and Bentley are doing/going to do. Maybe one day, but not right now.
