Managed to do it with the Audi R8(Team Oreca) 05.
Stage 3 Turbo
Engine limited to 860bph
Aero set to 40/60
Top speed set to 250mph
Won by about 21 seconds :D
My Bobs were level 37 & 33

I just finished another race and this time I used my Bentley Speed 8. This was my first attempt with this car. I was very confident with the car since the AI is always near the front with this car. In the end, I won by a modest 26 second margin over the other Bentley driven by the AI

Setup
Left the HP at stock and adjusted both front and rear aero until I reached the 700PP limit and raised the top speed slightly. Everything else is also at default (i dont like fine tuning cars)

Strategy
I decided to go with my 2 Level 35 bobs who I had always used here. I decided to go with a new pit strategy that I haven't tried before. I would pit on Lap 2 (for RIs) and 8 (for new RIs)

Won it this time!

Using Chaparral 2J,
Oil change,
The transmission set to Max speed 400,
The same B-Spec driver Lvl 31,
No pit stops,
Sports Soft tyres.

I kept the driver 100% hot on laps 1, 2 and 3,
75% on laps 4 and 5
50% on laps 6 and 7 and
0-25% on laps 8, 9 and 10 due to my driver becoming mistakeful.

overall time was 40 minutes, 30 seconds.

Thanks people!

!! Spoiler !! (The price for winning the both races in this seasonal event is below). Highlight it to reveal:

Nice it anyway worked out for you mate!
Wasn't that hard, right?

I know your not on about me but it's simple in the 2J...

For sure it is simple, but I think B-spec is boring already, so better get it over with in the least amount of time/effort and energy :)

Nomad Sport Soft on SPA & 2J Sport Soft on La Sarthe.

👍

I know it's frustrating for many of you (myself included, more than a few times!), but they really do call this an expert-level B-spec event. So really, when you DO win it, it feels at least a li'l bit special, since that means you're now an "expert" at B-spec, right? :)

Anyone needs to borrow a car, just hit me up. "Kwicko" on PSN. I'm sharing a pair of 2Js, an R92CP, R8 '01, R10, and pretty much whatever else you'd like to try.

If I can beat this thing, then so can you. Trust me on that. :)

i like what ya said, i was thinking almost the same thing, my best is still second, but im sure soon enough that ill get first place in the near future, i love a good challenge, and this is one of those.

Yup - I've won it several times, but I still keep trying new things, different setups, looking for other ways to beat this one. And with these new setups, I never know if I'll be first or fifth. I've had a few aborted runs where it was pretty clear on Lap 1 that what I was trying wasn't going to work, but many others where I've gotten to Lap 10 and still not been sure of the outcome.

I must do this race but idk what car to use, what do you guys recommend? My B-Spec Bob is Level 27 and i dont have a Chaparral 2J.

Kwicko, what's your recommended setup for the 2J? I did manage to win once, but can't remember what my setup was, and I haven't been able to win since; the closest I've got since is fourth place. :/ I've seen a few people recommend to set the transmission to about 250MPH, but that never seems to work for me, it ends up being a bit too high. I think I won with it being around 235MPH.

Lvl. 27 & no 2J is gonna be tricky. I'd try levelling up Bob(s) a few by grinding the Spa seasonal. Then use the R8 PlayStation ORECA '05 that's in the UCD right now. You'll probably need a second decent Bob. Unless yours has great stamina, he'll be spent before the race is done.

After many failed attempts and a couple 2nd place finishes, I did it with the aforementioned R8 and Lvl. 37 & 31 Bobs: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=6435204#post6435204.

Finally broke the dry spell and won it with fourliter's strategy and the Audi R8. :) Won by 10 seconds in the end, but that was mostly because the AI driver in the lead on the final lap binned his car at Mulsanne, and my Bob thankfully didn't. :P Struggled to keep things in check for the rest of the lap though; the tyres were being shredded! The white clouds behind the car must have been tyre smoke instead of water spray. :P

249mph top end did it for me - he'll actually hit around 235 or so on some of the straights when he gets a good tow, and that way he's not running into the rev limiter or running out of steam, so he can carry some speed to whistle past the competition.

Sports Softs all around, no pits at all. I have to slow my Bobs down for the hard right-hander at the end of the Mulsanne straight, and again through some of the esses, but run him pretty hard other than that (75% or so).

A grid with the 905 on pole and none of the BMW V12 cars is a grid that's easiest to beat. :)

I may need to do some oil changes and engine/chassis refreshing on the 2Js I've got shared, if they're not doing the job. They shouldn't get run down while being shared, but I've used them a few times as well, and they may be due for some much-needed upkeep.

I've tried running Sports Softs on some other cars, but they still need at least one pit stop when I do it, because they're harder on rear tires than the Chappy is, even if I turn down the downforce on those other cars at the rear a bit.

Awesome. Glad you nailed it. Getting that first win is huge, because it tells you you CAN do it!

That was actually my second win; I just couldn't get another win with the 2J after winning, and now I couldn't get another win with the R8! :P It's probably because I'm not paying enough attention to the race now.

Use the Audi r8, use your worst driver for 2 laps and pit him in lap 2. Then put on inters use your best driver and you should gain about 10 seconds. You have to make sure your drivers are pushing fast though in order for this to work. Then pit in lap 8, put inters on again and use your other driver. Simple win home.
You just have to make sure there pushing the first 2 laps and 3rd in order for this to work. Also my drivers were 32 & 35 and won by 30 seconds. Hope this helps :) oh and downforce to average and top speed to 236mph

I'm pretty sure a Level 27 Bob (this sounds almost like Scientology, doesn't it? :) ) can win in the 2J. Hit me up ("Kwicko" on PSN) - I'm sharing two of 'em, both fully modded and ready to race.

Speaking of which, is there a limit to the number of people who can share one car at the same time? I'm sharing two 2Js, among a number of other cars (6 total, the limit to how many you can have shared at once), but I'm wondering if that means only 2 people can race them (one per car at a time), or if an unlimited number of people can run the same car from my account at the same time.

I've accepted more than a dozen or so friend requests, and several people have posted that they've used these to win (and one or two used one of my R8 Audis, too), so it's conceivable that more than one person could be using the car at the same time, which I think is pretty freaking cool. :)

I'm happy to help out fellow GTPers to win this event and take home the big purse, and I want nothing in return - I ask for no gifts, no tickets, no cars, nothing. If you want to do a good turn to repay me, just pay it forward by sharing some cars with others when you can!

Finally did this with the playstation audi r8. :)
lowering aero values to 45f, 55r allowed the car to be faster on the long straights, and raising
the transmission to 249mph was key too.
Pitted laps 2 & 7 for RI tyres.
It would be great if pd released Aspec seasonal versions of these events.
Anyway kudos pd, I never thought i'd enjoy a bspec event this much!

This did the trick here with the R8 '01 (with stage 2 turbo). :)
But I recommend RH tyres on the 2nd pit.

Heres the results of the races i've done so far:

Race 1: Sauber C9 4th place (i can improve on that)

Race 2: Pescarolo C60 '05 3rd place

Race 3: Audi R8 '01 1st place

Race 4: Audi R8 '01 1st place

Race 5: Audi R8 '01 1st place

Race 6: Bentley Speed 8 1st place

Race 7: Nissan R92CP 1st place

How do you change B spec drivers ? I know it is a question , but Q& A had no solution .

Select 2 drivers when selecting the race. Some races only allow 1, some 2 or more. If you only want 1, you don't have to use all of them. The La Sarthe online race allows up to 2.

You can choose which driver will start the race, if you like. In the lobby, choose "select starting driver" just beside the green 'start' button.

When Bob pits for whatever reason (whether he decides to or you ask him to), the next driver will automatically get in the car.

Obviously, you need to have multiple drivers. More driver slots become available as you level up.

So far my ultimate car for this race is the Audi R8 Race Car '01.
Just set my personal fastest race with 39:32.5.
Downforce is set at 55/55
Top speed set at 249
NO TURBO gives 822 hp and 700 PP
(If I instal the stage 3 turbo I have to reduce the hp to 806 to get 700 PP.)
Everything else default.
Start with Race Hards. Pit at the end of lap 2 for Race Intermediates. Pit at the end of lap 8 for Race Intermediates.
Pushed a little early but once the field has pitted at lap 3 it is a walk in the park. Kept him at 3/4 with calm Bob in the middle laps had to go down to 1/4 with excitable Bob for the last 2 laps.

For my strategy, used an R8 Race Car, no turbo and chassis reinforcement, Tranny set to 242 or something like that, left everything else alone. Off brand new car after oil change, sittin at 828hp. 55/60 downforce and it sits perfect at 700pp. p6 by end of first lap (lvl 33 Bob), pit at end of lap 2, switch to racing inters, run 70% hot till end of lap 8, pit again for second Bob, lvl 32, and another set of RI's. Easy win.

I know some other people have posted this before, but this was the one that worked for me. Think it's a joint of two or three diff strategies. Hope it helps.

First of all...big shot out to kwicko! Thanks for that Audi R8 '01!

Secondly, thanks to gtplanet.....I knew I wasn't the only one getting frustrated. I like this challenge a lot, and wish there was an Aspec version of it.

After i torched $4 million credits on a Peugeot 908 and thought I was going to run away and get my $6mil with no sweat, think again. It was fun seeing my bobs do dumb things (giving up on the straights, early braking before those whack chicanes on the straight, binning it in Mulsanne corner, etc...) It was great to know that a 11 year old car was waaaaay faster then my sparking new FAP! lol.......

Anyways, big ups to my gt players! Hit me up on psn (theweapon_x)!

This race was NOT simple for me, borderline frustrating. I finally brought home the gold.

Car: Pescarolo Courage Judd '04
Settings: Completely stock with three exceptions.

Downforce: front 55
Downforce: rear 60

Transmission: 242mph

Turbo: Mid range

Pit after lap 2, change to inters

Pit after lap 7, refresh inters

Bob: Level 38 required constant coaching. Pace up in the straight, stay cool in the back corners.

I doubt I'll do it again, I like the Spa race much better!

Toyota GT One = Came 1st.

Mazda 787B = Came 1st.[Recommend]

Audi R8 Race Car '01 = Came 1st. [Recommend]

Above is solely my opinion and if somebody did better with other cars, I guess my bob wasn't trying hard enough.

1. try: Peugeot 905: have the bentley, audi, mazda, pescarolo, jaguar and other le manss too but tried this just for fun cause it is such a light weight. Didn't work... but the lights are cool in the night!

2. try: chaparal: won easy without any pit stop...the audi was 3 sec behind me in lap 8 and I thought this might be tough the last rounds cause my b-specs values went down to zero but then the audi drove in the pits...though he had enough tire level left...what a dumb guy...would have been interesting end of race..but so it was too easy..

nevertheless: this was a nice challenge and nice to watch.
At the moment b-spec seasonal events seem more interesting to me than a-spec (except time trial)

Glad to do it. I know there are quite a few others sharing their winning cars, too. Maybe we should start a thread for those who want to share, so those in need can find a winning car/solution.

Yeah, I thought the 908 would be a shoe-in for this as well. I've tried it a few times, but it still hasn't managed a win.

I had to stick it out with the Audi R8 playstation '05. I was so close, i could tell it was possible. It was stock, but Top speed raised a bit, and detuned to get to the PP limit.

I read a few of these threads, and decided on the pit after the 3rd lap strategy. I lost a bit at first, but used my two lvl 32 Bobs to win.(LOL, they levelled up as I lost.) The last two times i lost, it happened on the last straight. Got passed because my tires ran out halfway through the last lap, and the CPU gained that 20-something seconds back and passed me at the end. I extended the racing hard laps to 4, then barely won as the same thing almost happened on lap 10 again. That one extra lap on the RHs let me have barely enough left of the intermediates to make it to the end. I only won by about 3 seconds.

I actually really liked the challenge here. I'll probably do this again for fun once I go beat a few others for the first time.

Props to all in the thread here who helped.

Good list.

I've won pretty easily with the Chappy 2J, have yet to win with the GT-ONE Toyota, and have gotten pretty close with the R92CP Nissan.

787B was good for a win, R8 '01 was good for a couple wins.

The R10 just seems like it would be a natural, but turns out to be really not very good at all for this event.
