Anyone else out there miss physical appearance changes you could make to street cars like in GT6?

Adding a front air damn, choosing one of the exhausts to change the look of the vehicle, (sport to semi racing and racing all had very distinct looks) Some cars even came with "other" options like mirrors, or adding a freakin' canopy in the case of the Elcamino ...)

The Countach is coming but will we be able to add a rear wing?

Maybe it might be an interesting add on to the mileage points redemption section ... the only reason I say that is because as I see it, the current set up in game has no place for it...maybe in Liveries?

What do you think?

GTS is not Need for Speed. So no kind of those changes should/would happen.

Previous entries in the franchise weren't NFS either but they made it in and were a good inclusion if not always fully fleshed out, We have to remember while not everybody may like these things they are derived directly from motorsport so the fact that they have been omitted in the most motorsports focused GT to date is daft in my opinion.

Thanks helpy helperton.

I think they should, personally. Just because I don't use the scapes that much, there are some people that do and would very much appreciate it. Also, with all the livery editing available, it would be awesome to make an RM version of a road car, especially ones that do not currently have racing variants (I'm looking at your Mazda MX5...).

The "should not" part is my opinion. The "would not" part is not.You are welcome btw.
(Some people may enjoy racing boats/planes too.Perhaps they should add those too.)

EDIT:Instead of putting a "spoiler" into a road car how about PD adding the actual racing car model (I'm looking to MX-5 Cup car...)

Honestly I dont really care about changing the cars body work, I would like however, for the game to have a dedicated Wheel and sticker store.
I have having the "Random" wheels every reset :/

For me, as a lover of the photomode part of the game, these options were great and really did change the look of the car, rear wing delete was a favorite...
BTW...I don't see how this relates to racing planes, boat etc... as the changes made were for the car...to improve performance and looks. Heck you could even enjoy adding available period options (ex 60's Ford GT-40) for certain models.

if anything they should include Motorbikes

I think we should be able to exit the car, get it modified by some guy called Benny, steal someone elses, enter the pit buildings and stands, use a gun, take cover, do missions with two other characters, change my character's hair, clothes, etc., fly the trackside helicopter, you know, like Grand Theft Auto, this game needs to be more like Grand Theft Auto.

Why is this game not like Grand Theft Auto?

I demand this game is more like Grand Theft Auto or I shall start another thread.

It is like GTA the payouts from races aren't exactly great in that respect :sly:

Not entirely sure where this came from???

The other GT games had this customization feature, probably due to the fact that the cars you bought, you tended to keep and modify, not really part of this game so far, maybe that will change with the fully fleshed out campaign update in Dec? I'd really love to see it added to the livery editor as that is the only place that it would seem to fit in the new game.

While i'd appreciate it for some of the road cars that don't have a race version, for me its not something I'm overly missing from GT Sport. One thing I would like though is the ability to change wheels on race cars without losing the default livery. I know I could prob try and recreate them but nah!

Hasn't the % of in-game cars you are able to upgrade with "racing modifications" been steadily dropping with each new release since GT1?

Regarding OP, while this is a feature I’m not overly concerned about, I must say it would be cool to have back in GTS. Who knows maybe it’ll show up in a future update? If they can add an entire new game mode (upcoming update) then I don’t see why they can’t add new features like this if they really wanted...

I'd like to be able to add things that have a practical use in motorsports. Front splitter, rear spoilers, canards, diffusers, and fender flares with adjustable track width for the car. One of the cool things about Forza is that I can take any car and make my own racing modifications for it, even if they're somewhat limited. It'd be nice to see the same functionality in GT Sport for the street cars.

I don't think we need styling body kits just yet, but down the road it'd be a nice addition.

The game features mechanical tuning, and a fairly comprehensive livery editor, and tuned versions of cars in it already with differing bodywork.. you think that additional body mods aren't within the scope of Gran Turismo? It's nothing like planes and boats, or Grand Theft Auto

That is what i miss too. I own a Xbox One S with Forza 7 and the option to add rims, spoilers, bumpers and stuff is one of the reasons i like the customizing part better. Also the tuning part. Instead of just paying Mileage points for 1,2 or 3 extra levels of power you can buy a turbo. or engine swap or air intakes and stuff..

But that is a very personal opinion i think. If you just like the racing and tuning the GTS is awesome. But do you like a more indepth personalising feature Forza might be better.

I like both games and thats why i play both of them.

It has to do with what people may or may not like,a point I was addressing.
BTW modification like that do not belong in an e-sport title like GTS (or at least in a title that GTS is supposed/want to be,to make it more clear). Is this a better answer?
Customizing a road car the way OP describes is not withing the scope of GTSport.

I don't see why it wouldn't be a perfect fit for GT:Sport, Take this example from Topgear/Britcar 24hour

A road car, converted into a racecar, Not to specific tech regulations as GT4 I believe, But lets look at it from the visual aspect.
Front splitter - Check
Huuuuge wing - Check
Funny livery - Check

How is it not a perfect fit for GT:Sport again?

It's got nothing to do with it being an e-sport title. OP isn't asking for 'draulics and spinners, he's asking for minor cosmetic mods that may well be found on these cars in the real world, at track days or low/mid tier racing series. If you're really worried about it not appearing realistic, then they can just be confined to group N cars, rather than Gr.1-4/B spec etc... that way it won't seem unrealistic (when it's on a fictional track racing against a concept car).

Taken from series that includes GT3,GT4,sports cars, touring cars and 24h special builts.
Now (from OP):

"The Countach is coming but will we be able to add a rear wing?"

To race against what cars in what class in Sport Mode or Public lobbies?Explain to me how this idea can work in GTS.
Will affect in any way the performance of the car?If yes,in what class will you add it?If not, then whats the point? Is is going to be just for the "looks"?

I'd rather have that cool old school transformation where you made your road car into a pure racing machine with a large body makeover and racing liveries. :D

Well not to race against GT3/4 cars since those didn't exist in the current format when and where this raced.

It doesn't need to be just for racing, Have you seen the number of scapes in the game, The wing on the Countach was subjectively mostly for looks, Hell If it came as an option when 1.07 drops then I would totally make a replica of the above car.

How can any of this really be seen as any kind of problem? Not every racing car is built to a specific ruleset, More customization is always a good thing for a game that relies quite heavily on the community aspect.

I am fully aware it is your opinion, although the way you voiced it was a bit aggressive and demanding.

Either way, my opinion is quite the opposite of yours. The racing variants of the cars Mazda make are not necessarily to my taste, so the option to choose which spoiler is added, which canards, splitters etc. would be cool.

Are you saying that I should not be able to choose which wheels my car has? It's EXACTLY the same thing, just broadened. It doesn't make GT Sport Need for Speed, it makes it a more well-rounded game that is likely to please more people (at the expense of annoying just one it would appear...)

Wheels do not affect performance.Aero package do that.GTS is not NFS or Forza. So we'll see if they want to change the game and make it the way you want it to be.

(at the expense of annoying just one it would appear...)

Again who is the aggressive and demanding here? LOL[/QUOTE]

The last thing I want in the game is people adding spoilers or loud exhausts to their meganes, unless they make them slower of course. I certainly dont want people to make a nerfed car more interesting to look at or better sounding than a naturally better looking, better sounding 'better' car.
