Game General Rules *Current*

1) The Cars will be modfied to the maximum of your budget and ability to tune them. (You may use repeatable prize cars, not one time only awards like driving missions or license tests. Preferably not ones that take more then a week to get. Easy to get ones would be best.)

2) The Track will be a single track picked by the person who chose the car.

3) You have 7 days to aquire, tune and test then record and post your time. New or used cars that cost more then 1,500,000 CR may not be picked as this gets to be very expensive and not everyone has the budget for it. This may eventually be exceeded by consent of the particpants.

4) The driver with the best time will chose the next car and track unless they won the previous round then it will go to the next best time.

5) All times and posts are subject to the rules of posting for the Lap Time Benchmark thread.

This thread are open? Im see a 3 similar threat and dont know.

This rules are nice, one car, one map, one week, and the winner choose new car and map.

Tonight im start with Galant!

Yes all of these Lap Time Benchmark threads are open to anyone who wants to participate. The Challenges just aquire the car named, take it to the track named and drive up a storm. The original thread Lap Time Benchmark you can drive any car you like with pretty much anything you like on it, as long as it can be classified by the rules in that thread.

Nice! I take it you went the turbo route, I tried non-asperated tuning for fun.

P.S. Screen shots are not necessary, but nice to look at. They do become important once a time is on the Lap Time Benchmark list as a form of proof if you are ever challenged by anyone on the list as to wether any hanky panky went on.

Nice! 👍

It really is a pretty nice car, you can get quite a bit out of it.

P.S. For fun I took the car out to the test track with R2 tires and got 232 mph out of it. 👍

P.S. I'm ending round 2 a day early, but I will still take submissions for it till tommorrow, but alas you will not figure in the picking of round 3. Lets try to keep this cycling on Mondays so a body has a full week to work on this and a set day for it to end.

Well I guess I guess I picked the wrong car and track, but when that rally car mood hits, watch out. Boujack84 it is your turn to pick if you still want to particpate. If not, you are an honest and honorable competitor, I salute you and happy racing. Thanks for making me drive the '98 Nissan, I've bought several since! 👍

I thought it was a good choice, and a fun track for that car, the only issue I would see is that it was a prize car which may have turned people off immediately, or they sold it. Maybe in the future we could stay away from the prize only cars listed here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=81155#post2258701

I may actually participate in the next one, although I still have not moved, due to apartment deals that keep falling through. But I am all packed and living out of boxes, and it wouldn't be all that hard to repack 1 ps2 box.

Well I assumed he had done at least the normal special conditons its why I stayed away from the hard ones as some haven't gotten them yet. I haven't sold any of those, so I didn't imagine anyone else would either. Mainly though I wanted a rally car I hadn't modded yet and didn't want to buy one for 750,000 Cr.

Good to see you online again GrumpEone. Sounds like a government operation in your move, all fouled up, situation normal.

Hi, it cheers to me that you enjoyed the Nissan, excuses my absence, i was ocupated and not played.

I propose for this week:
Car: Buick Special
Track: New York (Normal)

I hope you agree this option, Excuse my English

Buick Special - I love that car, see you on the track.

P.S. If english isn't your native language your doing fine so nothing to excuse. As for cars my budget is routinely above 13 million and I have no problem getting pretty much anything under the rules of this challenge. :)

Round 4
Track: New York
Car: Buick Special '62
Time: 1'25.008
Course Style: Normal
Tires: R5
Upgrade Level: Extreme
Horse Power: 874 HP (w/ Oil Change)
Driver: GrumpEone

Wow, I am rusty, had to turn off tcs and go into drifting all the 90's to even hit 1'25. I'm sure I'll improve that one before the week is up.

This one is truely a challenge. I had stayed away from making the 800 + HP version of this car without a wing. I thought I would go to a track I have been testing on lately, and I thought that I had a good set up after leaving there. I arrived as it were in New York to a different tune though, having my setup hopes dashed. It started off rough or more like bumper cars especially in the first hard braking 90 degree turn to the left. I eventually made improvements as you will see, never having touched the oil. You guys will never believe some of these setting on this car unless you surpass these times. I will show you next monday if you are interested. Good pick Boujack84 really had to work for this one.

Good time, did you go NA Tune route, rather than Supercharged?
I forgot going in, how much this car floats at high speeds.

Finally starting to feel it again, I still should be able to do a bit better. If I get a little more confident, I'll remove some of the ballast.

I went supercharged on this one. The version I prefer is a stage 2 non asperated. Hehe, I used ballast as well but thats not the setting I was referring to that you wouldn't believe, but maybe you do with your last time. :)

I went with a high rear ride height, very stiff rear spring, with a very low front ride height and soft front spring, with a little front ballast. This gives me more weight shifting to the front on steering while braking, and to reduce oversteer and improve straightline ability I put a little toe in on the rear tires. This seems to work well on this car, aside from the car wanting to spinout under heavy acceleration, if I get stuck in 1st gear speeds. I really could use a little downforce on the buick, but a spoiler would look awful (and is unavailable). At least the last two times I posted were done without drifting, even though the back to back 90's is fastest drifting well, the tcs of 1, that I am using kills acceleration at the end of the drift.

Still curious what your setting is that we wouldn't believe.

Nice BH-21, now I got to go back and try and cut off another couple tenths, by time were done here, this Buick is going to be a permanent NY rig, being so finely tuned. Still tweaking the transmission every few runs, I'm topping out right around 200 MPH, give or take a few MPH, how is your rig running?

Well I would love to see what you can do with my setup as you are a better driver I think. I took mine to the test track with R2 tires and it hit 223 mph. As for speed at New York I know it goes over 190 mph but I'm to busy driving to notice exactly I will have to check my replay, should of looked at the analyzer. I'm probably going to try this setup on another track just to see what happens.

I checked the replay and I only got up to 194 mph on New York.

Welcome aboard Fbccars924 and prepare to abuse this car. :) Oh the humanity and all the scrapped paint on the sides.
