I'm confused, is it still Sports car (yeah, I know I chose the track but the track muck-up confused me... Again

Opps my bad fellas, I wrote down the wrong track name. Back to the race track. Sorry for the confusion. Good catch!

And here is another participant! :D

Round 3

Track: Infineon Raceway - Sports Car Course
Car: Caterham Seven Fire Blade '02
Time: 1'42.599
Course Style: Normal
Tyres: S2 (Stock)
Upgrade Level: Stock
Output power: 160 HP (no oil change)
Driver: Magic Racer

At first, I had problems getting used to this car; especially the shifting points. But after a few tries, I could manage a fast and clean lap. Now this looks like a new benchmark, doesn't it? :P

~EDIT~

~EDIT 2~

Here is the video: Link

I wanted to make sure it is 100% clean, thus I made two pictures (front and back) of the car, which show that two wheels are still on the track when I get the problem with my controller:

It will be when the round ends tommorrow. You are leading this round at the moment, though one would wonder how you got six seconds better then the best time so far. There is no cutting through the grass, two wheels have to be on track pavement at all times.

I already have a screenshot of my time in the 'Free Run'-Menue which came just after I got my best laptime and, of course, I have a replay of my run (two wheels on track and no contact with walls or the like at all times; I had a little problem with my controller for a few seconds during the lap, but I managed to keep two wheels on the track and not to touch a wall). I will upload the screenshot in a few minutes and edit my previous post. I do not know how quickly I can upload the video, though.

~EDIT~ I edited my previous post with a screenshot of my best laptime. I will try to get the video up by tomorrow. ;)

~ EDIT 2 ~ I have added a video and two pictures (see reason in my previous post).

~ EDIT 3 ~ I asked a moderator to check if my lap is OLR clean, so that we keep it fair. :)

-EDIT 08/04/24- Only want to clarify that there was not a problem with the controller itself that almost made the lap invalid, but an input error on my end.

It's not up to me. I have nothing to do with this series and know nothing about it. You had 2 wheels on track all the time, and anyone can see that, but I don't know if the car qualified as to parts and tune etc.

Smoked us by 5 seconds and change, with a controller problem...
I watched your replay, and am curious how you carry more speed through and out of every corner, as your lines and accel/brake points are not that much different than mine (except I didn't touch the grass). But the time is 5+ seconds quicker, and you top out about 15 km/h higher too (yes, I was skeptical enough to change my units, to cross-reference our replays).

Or was it just magic?

Fantastic time Magic Racer!

Which ends today at 5:30 pm US Central Time. (According to the time SVX made the starting post for this round.)

Thank you for the effort, daan! I am happy to see it is 100% OLR clean. 👍

One of the reasons why I personaly was getting only 1'43-1'44 times was because I was driving the car too aggressively. My laptimes improved as I started to drive it more smoothly and with more precision. What you should do is brake late, but do not go full throttle too early, because otherwise you will lose a lot of traction out of corners. In my replay, you can see that the car oversteered after the 180° turn. It happened because I went onto the throttle too early. Additionally, you should avoid rumble strips, because they will make you fly if you do not react quickly enough.

Well, I would not call it magic. I just had luck not to touch the wall when I had the little problem with my controller, otherwise it is just concentration. :)

Yeah, thanks for the advice. I'll try it that way next time I can race.
In hopefully a few weeks, when unpack the PS2; as I am preparing to move and will be packing up the gaming stuff today. :(

So good luck with the lap times guys, hopefully it will still be up and running strong when I return.

Was that normal or reverse course style? I put normal for now. You know, I think that may also be the first front wheel drive on the list.

I Guess I'll follow suit, and put an oil-changed time once we are allowed to do so per Top Gear Comp. - EDIT: oops I forgot to do that, and I already installed a weight reduction, oh well.

Post it in the proper format (two versions valid) with the full time and other information and I will add it.

If it was done with a gameshark or any other device like it, don't be suprised if the time is removed.

Alright edited.

No gameshark, just fully tuned Speed 12 on R3's with a good tune.

I meant fill in the blanks of a form like either of these. The first page of the thread explains each one and has the master benchmark list.

Did a few runs of the Nordschleife, I could probably get <6:10 but it would be hard.
