Launch Title..?

If it is a Launch title and I hope it will be, it will not be a Rush game because they have been working on it for a few years.

GT5, GT6 and GTS had all been worked on for a few years and were all arguably rushed to release based on the huge amount of content and alterations to them that came afterwards. GT6 in particular was woefully incomplete, and the release advertising admitted as much with a laundry list of features to be added in the future.

Whether a game is rushed or not has little to do with how long it's been since the last release, and everything to do with how well the project has been managed. If Star Citizen was released today it would likely be labelled as a "rushed" or "incomplete" release, despite the fact that it's been in development for nearly ten years.

The more we getting closer to November(PS5 release date?), the more i doubt that we will be getting GT7 as a Launch title.

There will be a State of Play in August. Maybe, we will have more informations about games announced in PS5 event.

Could be, but relax. The PS5 reveal was just a few weeks ago and if you know GT and PD the news have always been pretty slow. Waiting for big events like E3, Gamescom (old news say that Sony won't be there this year, whatever) and Tokyo Game Show. Plus the details are often revealed in interviews and meetings (Gtplanet do their part)

I feel like the social media team are trying to simply keep people interested in the game. I doubt they know much more than we do.

The single emoji is really cryptic though, the last time they tweeted about GT7 it was just a question asking what cars they’d like to see

Sony haven’t announced any new details about PS5 or launch games since the initial stream. The most we’ve got is the odd tweet from PD and Insomniac.

The English GT social media accounts are clearly not operated by any PD employees, rather some social media guys at Sony. I mean obviously they get first hand information, but you shouldn't read too much into stuff they post. Most of it isn't going to have come at the direction of PD.

I was told the company responsible for this is Engage Digital Partners. Go scroll to fourth slide and you'll find the GT logo as one of EDP's partners.

-GT5 November 2010
-GT6 December 2013
-GTS October 2017

It’s absolutely relevant GT6 released on PS3 (after PS4 launched) and there will only be one mainline GT on PS4. There was a very clear decision by Sony to support PS3 beyond PS4’s launch. Something they aren’t repeating with this generation transition.

GTS was developed from the ground-up on an entirely new architecture. PS5 is a seamless transition of said architecture. Sony made an internal decision to end (new) PS4 AAA development late ‘17/‘18. It makes eminent sense, PD’s next GT has been targeting, ‘20-‘21 at the latest.

I admire your optimism, man. But we should wait for more information about the game. With PD you'll never know, they are highly unpredictable. Game development in general is unpredictable. I'd love to see GT7 as launch title but we don't really know when they started developing the game.

2020.07.22 : Added recruitment of game production assistant (part-time job)

"Check if the software, graphics, and development tools of the "Gran Turismo" series are functioning properly according to the determined procedure, find any defects, and report them.

You don't have to be good at games, but it's a rewarding job for anyone interested in making the latest games."

A part time job just for bug fixing? Sounds like the game is looking to be quite polished. Might also be a lot closer than we think?

If only I could apply for that job...

No one knows. There are a bunch of titles (GT7, Ratchet and Clank, Demons Souls, Returnal, Deathloop) that could be launch titles but have not been cemented as such.

Please remember we just and are still going through COVID. I think things have not been finalised. There is another Sony event in August where I think launch lineup will be finalised.

Well, Forza Motorsport looks at least a year or more away. Not the rumoured early 2021.....after insiders stated it (Edit) wasn’t coming at launch.

That in turn probably puts the next Forza Horizon 2+ years away.

I'd say holiday 2021 is likely a target date for FM, though that is just my opinion and not based on any information beyond that it seems to be XBX exclusive and therefore is at least 1 year from the XBX launch away. We might not get GT7 before then either though, no release date info on either titles yet.

Rumour (take with a grain of salt) is that T10 is helping 343i with Halo and that game is still looking rough.

So how is everyone enjoying the game?

Well my third cousin said he is enjoying the game on his PS5.1 (Day one patch) and never thought he could hit 200mph down Trial mountain's straight and nuke the fridge at the same time.

No GT7, so I’ve sold my PS5!

I’ll get a “GT7 Edition” one whenever the game is finally released!
You didn't seriousely order a launch day PS5 expecting GT7 to be available at launch did you?

I ordered months ago, even before the launch list was announced... so I lived in hope :)

but also just flipped the PS5 as there’s no launch games I want to play, and the extra cash will probably go towards more games or a new wheel...

I suppose that's always a safe fall back plan with a launch console, you can probably sell it for more than you paid so no loss.

You might be buying another PS5 early-mid next year though, hopefully.

Bloody hope so! :)

I’ll buy one as soon as they’re readily available & back down to RRP (or even might get one on sale by March/April).

I made the mistake with the PS4, got it on launch day & then waited and waited and waited for GTS!
