My first real battle was a stern test and proved that my gamble with replicating a real modified car did not pay off. I chose to lead first but was passed very quickly. I tried to keep up through the twistier corners but fell away on the higher speed sections showing the massive performance gap. I accept my defeat to HKS with grace and dignity and hope that he does very well throughout the season

Confirmed. I kinda felt bad to race him because I knew of his PP level. Still, he challenged me and I accepted. I love the car he drives, it just doesn't have enought PP right now. A 500PP FD2 would be a good car to use, even if it has a FF layout.

Yeah the FD2 is actually better than many give it credit for. All it takes is some ingenuity and tricky tuning to make FFs go fast on the Touge

Hopefully will have chance to do some races :)

Timber, I just checked the leaderboard and it is incorrect. By the updates you did, I had a 2 win streak. My loss was my first race. ( althought now I have 3 wins and 2 losses, being my last race a loss, so no streak again. xD)

Hmm, It was a lot different from our Pre Season bout. I locked my brakes and because of that went wide, allowing MONSTAR to pass. I tried to catch him and pass him again but couldn't. By the end, I oversteered on the last corner and the jump didn't help me. Hit the wall and sustained damage. I like to race him but I hate losing. xD
I'll give him a 5/5. He's a great bloke and a awesome racer. His WRX has massive amounts of grip.

I'm already planning ahead to switch to something like an Evo 10 modified to as close to 500PP as I can get after season 1 but I will continue to do the best I can in my Civic until the season ends.

Guess he hit the corner and damaged himself and I passed him. Was a good race though.

Just a quick thought, shouldn't we be using Sports soft tires?

It's a tempting idea but i think that the sports hard tyres give more of a challenge in grip management, at least in my opinion anyway.

I decree that we should continue using Sports Hard. I believe we are all in consensus when i say that S/H is the closest simulation of street legal radials and allow for the best sensation of grip management.

Regardless of the car you have, there is no unfair advantage or disadvantage to S/H. Everything can be fixed with nifty tuning and precision throttle/brake control.

That is what Touge is all about!!

precision control, not just knowing just when to press the brakes but knowing how hard. not just knowing when to floor it or feather the throttle but that amazing sensation you get when you feel you're extracting every bit of grip your tires have going 70mph/120kph around a hairpin without drifting while the tires are SCREAMING for grip!!!

please, don't ruin that for us :)

But it's not realistic.

Well these are the rules that we all agreed on. There where a lot of discusions about this and it was agreed on that Sport Hard Tyres are closest to real tyres in real life.

Thats why the rule is set on Sport Hard tyres. I think its really good to have Sport Hard tyres. Sport Soft are almost like racing tyres imho.

I tryed to drive on sport soft once and it was completely different to sport hard tyres. It makes you go into corners much faster - which in real life you would never do - you would not go into a hairpin 90 km/h - unless you are real crazy / god like driver - and the tyres have compared to Sport Hard tyres too much grip in much higher speeds.

Sport Hard = closest to real life tyres.

Comforts soft would be a more realistic everyday street tire with grip better then economy but not like a street legal radical. that just my opinion but I enjoy the Sport Hards more.

heres what i have to say about the tires.....this forum is becoming more homoginalized because of the tire problem only a handlful of cars can take them and that majoring is 4wd. there are more people changing their cars to subarus because they dont have a drifting problem fr's have. people staying to their original car anymore because there nothing they can do about making it faster around the corners its obvisous the s/h are terrible tires because of the big disadvantage they give to fr's they only fr's i see on the touge now are rx-7s and s2000s. if you look at the leaderboard you will see only one fr' is in the top five with a very good street and its already a street tuned car being a amuse .Also if you do look aswell the 4wds has a better average than fr's because fr's are harder to control, tune, and tire wear. i would propose either a lower pp limit to be like the real initial d cars. or bring the tire limit to street radials(sport softs) like the real touge show down you see on tv. i already tested ss tire and seem to give a fr way more potential it may give 4wd and mr more potential to but not the fr's are way more stable. that way you can open up the car variety as more cars can be drivable with sport softs than sport hards
event sport mediums is bad but still gives fr's a hard time

and yes sport hard to provide more of a challenge but do you want to atleast have a chance of winning against a 4wd or a mr. and having more control so you can stay with you opponet. Or you can lower the pp slower cars means more skill into passing other drivers
a good example is driving a k car of a fiat in the same pp the lower power makes it more harder to pass someone because you dont have highspeed
and if you watch intial d most of their car were between 260 to 300hp so either option cant hurt....thats my opinion

how about we solve this issue by having drivetrain divisions. 4WD can only go against 4WD. because it seems the only reason we are arguing over the tire set is because of noobs (pardon my language) who cant properly handle an FR and wanna go the easy way out. Think about it, we're not seeing more 4WDs generally, we're just seeing more SUBARUS!!!!

would we go as far as to say they're like the Veyron of the Touge?? not necessarily the fastest, but the easiest choice because its the least challenging to drive?

Now, im not here to judge anyone, but im a purist and go rear-wheel drive all the way. I have nothing against 4WD cars but its becoming a joke seeing all these damn subarus. Have you no sense of individualism? or are you all just robots that wanna be a part of something and chose to half-ass your way through it?

like seriously? where are all the Skylines i was so amped to be going agains? How about the Skyline 370GT? havent seen a SINGLE ONE of those and i have that car tuned for the touge and it hands great!! and has unbelievable amount of traction and stability while speeding at low RPMs. Not even a single Acura NSX'91, or a Fairlady Z. Or BMW M3, or Ferrari 512BB or Cali (great cars, btw). Or TVRs? Ho about a FORD MUSTANG? Audi R8 4.2? Where are all the Evos and S15 Silvias? or DC5?

are you guys all soooooo afraid of crashing into the wall and getting hurt in a videogame that you opt to drive a subaru as opposed to LEARNING a new vehicle and mastering its handling characteristics??

THERE ISNT EVEN A SINGLE MX-5!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone is so subconsciously obsessed with winning that they arent willing to take the risk to LEARN a new bloody car in order to actually stand out and be considered an individual. It's ok, you're all fine with being copies. what a shame

(notice all the cars i mentioned are PERMIUM MODELS, omg imagine how many more standard ones there are to choose from)

I have a 502PP Nissan Primera 22.0Te '90
OMG that little car is liight and fast
368hp/8100rpm - 1006kg
c'mon, this is Gran Tu-fuqin-rismo...

1000+ cars and you guys all settle on Subaru Imprezas...
I'm embarrased to be around you guys almost (with the exception of those awesome individuals who actually take the time and passion to run and run and run and run their cars to tune them to perfection. High five to you guys)

i see you opinion snake about the individual problem and i agree people need to drive other cars theres toyotas, hondas, nissans, mitsubishi, mazda, suzuki, subaruus theres theres hundreds of japanese cars to choose from but setting cars up like that im not sure will work you basiclly splitting everyone if half so there half the competitors you can only race the same person once a week and and half the forum isn't on everyday and may kill the forum because people will get bored and possibly leav the forum becaue your cutting it inhalf

The whole 'divisions' thing I'm not too serious about, since we don't have the sanctioning and support to fully support that competition model

i mentioned it in order to outline the REAL problem, which isn't the tire restriction, but the Subaru overpopulation

literally heres a list of cars
toyota: supra, celica, chaser, aristro and there many years of the celica and supra
nissan:skyline gtr, skyline 370, fairlaidy, silvias and theres many years of silvias ans skylines and fairladys
mazda:miata, rx7, rx8, atenza and theresn alot of different models od miate and rx7
honda:civic, nsx, accord we all know theres hundreds of those
and thats not including mitsubish and subaru, izizu, suzuki and ect

ya but you know why cause subaru actually can handle with sh people cant get their cars to run right so they upgrade their car. when people c the leaderboard and the vehicle other wonder if its a good vehicle. when a new guy comes in and loses badly they feel bad and slow because theres nothing they can do so they just upgrade their car to something they know it fast

if you read ALL of my proposal it talks about changing the tires= more car variety because more car can easily run on ss than sh

4WD have the advantage with ****** tires. I like what Mopar is saying because if we get an upgrade we can have more car variety which will mean more fun.

Looks like my season two car is gonna be banned lol oh well its ok i got a second project ready(ish). I only choose to run a skyline because of Initial D. I think i might stick with the Skyline for season two but i'm not sure if it will be the R32 again......
