its timber decision he may choose as he pleases to one of my two proposals or snakes or we he can just leave it as it is

Sports Hard Tyres is what sets Legend of the Streets apart from other racing series. In my honest opinion. If you want sports soft, many racing series uses this tyre and you can go join it.

It's known already that in any type of restriction, there will be a selection of best cars any how you put it. But I just didn't expect you guys to pick it up that quickly.

Eg. FR - S2000, MR - NSX, 4WD - Impreza

^ I've already expected that to happen. Whether you use Sports Soft or any other type of set of restrictions, there will be a certain set of fastest car in its class.

If winning is everything to you, then by all means, go for the best recommended class. There's nothing stooping you and I won't stop you. This series is focused on variety. If you really want to pit against skills, then join a racing series where everyone uses the same car.

In Initial D, even Takumi is blown away with Bunta's STi. And how FR cars will have a hard time keeping up with it. In real life, its like that as well. Like how turbo cars will always have an advantage in the straight against NA cars and there's nothing much that can be done with that.

As for the future of Legend of the Streets, I've thought about it throughly already about getting the most out of GT5. If you read the front page, there'll be a core series and a side series. Core series will be the main series with the least amount of restrictions.

With the side series, it'll give me an opportunity to experiment with other restrictions and keeping the series fun and refreshing. I'm already thinking of doing a combination of drivetrain selection with different PP for the side series which I'll reveal when we get closer to it.

im defently goin to stay around for this soon to come pp series i got one cool old japanese cars that can haul @$$

mopar-440
and i do have a 2nd perposal in that paragraph about lowering the pp to be like real initial d

Initial D has essentially 2 classes, Uphill and Downhill. Also, Initial D has 400+ hp as well. And the latest manga suggested that Rin Hojo's R32 has 650HP.

mopar-440
different pp class can be cool but spliting the drivetrains to me would be a bad idea

Agreed as well. I've got an idea for what to introduce, but not yet. It's basically the issue of splitting all the players into 2 series running co-currently if classes are introduced.

Thank you for letting me be the almighty decider of this series. Lol.

OSE_CAP_SHADOW
Well i'm already toying with new cars fro Season 2, 4WD and MR

Just to let you know, Season 2 is quite a long way away, lol. Cause the side series will happen first.

When does season 1 end? Lol.

Nvm. So are we having another time attack week? Missed the last one, and will miss this one too lol. I hate time attack.

Yeah can you tell us the limits and stuff for the next season so we can get ready for it? Or is it SH and 500pp again?

OSE_CAP_SHADOW
Guess it will be my Side project car to get 100% ready for it them

Side season will could be something close to the core season or something completely different.

Eg, different PP restrictions. no JDM series. Classic cars (pre-90's). Or December's Side series will be running in snow (Christmas!)

Core Series will always be SH and 500PP and won't change very much from that.

There might be some tweaking, but thats about it.

Im talking about the next season that's going to happen wether it's core or side.

how about we solve this issue by having drivetrain divisions. 4WD can only go against 4WD. because it seems the only reason we are arguing over the tire set is because of noobs (pardon my language) who cant properly handle an FR and wanna go the easy way out. Think about it, we're not seeing more 4WDs generally, we're just seeing more SUBARUS!!!!

would we go as far as to say they're like the Veyron of the Touge?? not necessarily the fastest, but the easiest choice because its the least challenging to drive?

Now, im not here to judge anyone, but im a purist and go rear-wheel drive all the way. I have nothing against 4WD cars but its becoming a joke seeing all these damn subarus. Have you no sense of individualism? or are you all just robots that wanna be a part of something and chose to half-ass your way through it?

like seriously? where are all the Skylines i was so amped to be going agains? How about the Skyline 370GT? havent seen a SINGLE ONE of those and i have that car tuned for the touge and it hands great!! and has unbelievable amount of traction and stability while speeding at low RPMs. Not even a single Acura NSX'91, or a Fairlady Z. Or BMW M3, or Ferrari 512BB or Cali (great cars, btw). Or TVRs? Ho about a FORD MUSTANG? Audi R8 4.2? Where are all the Evos and S15 Silvias? or DC5?

are you guys all soooooo afraid of crashing into the wall and getting hurt in a videogame that you opt to drive a subaru as opposed to LEARNING a new vehicle and mastering its handling characteristics??

THERE ISNT EVEN A SINGLE MX-5!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone is so subconsciously obsessed with winning that they arent willing to take the risk to LEARN a new bloody car in order to actually stand out and be considered an individual. It's ok, you're all fine with being copies. what a shame

(notice all the cars i mentioned are PERMIUM MODELS, omg imagine how many more standard ones there are to choose from)

I have a 502PP Nissan Primera 22.0Te '90
OMG that little car is liight and fast
368hp/8100rpm - 1006kg
c'mon, this is Gran Tu-fuqin-rismo...

1000+ cars and you guys all settle on Subaru Imprezas...
I'm embarrased to be around you guys almost (with the exception of those awesome individuals who actually take the time and passion to run and run and run and run their cars to tune them to perfection. High five to you guys)

As a fellow FR driver I know where you are coming from. But there is a saying, "To each their own." Not everyone has the skill set to deal with rear wheel drive cars, but not all who can't go 4wd. Everybody has their own preference of cars. Like it or not, there may be more subarus.

And about the comment of needing more standard cars, no hi beams, that is all.

I'm from the higher levels of circuit racing(580+pp) and learned a few things. All drivetrains have their strengths and thus weaknesses. I constantly saw 4wds being out cornered by FR's and MR's regardless of tire restrictions. What does this mean? It all depends on driver skill and tuning to seize victory.

And about the Impreza being the "veyron of the touge", veyron is no longer the fastest car, the Impreza will fall eventually as well. Then there will be more variety.

There is also alot of concern about pp and tires. They're all good propositions, but it is a bit late to change regulations. Pre season 2 is a great time to reset them because of more input. As for now, let things be. It's to soon for things to be going downhill.

Maybe it would be a good time to end this debate about tyre restrictions and concentrate on the rest of the season.

Why is everyone already thinking about next season?
Season 1 just started, go out there, have some races and have fun!
I think SolidSnake has a point when it comes to car choice, my opinion on the subject is very well represented in the beginning of this video:

I have nothing against people who chose an Impreza, some of you might like that car a lot (I know I do) but the abuse certainly does seem suspicious.
I chose my RX-7 because I pledged allegiance to Mazda :) and because it's a fun car to drive. Sure from the testing I did, the NSX was a bit faster but overall I like the feel and look of the RX-7 more and that's why I chose it.
One of the main reasons I joined this series is because it's casual and oriented on having fun and meeting new people with a common interest for the touge. I know that I'll always accept challenges even if I'm in a disadvantageous position because I'll have a blast anyway, so maybe you should analyze things less and go have some fun with other touge enthusiasts. I think everyone can agree that the most fun races aren't necessarily the ones you win but they're the tight ones where you're racing in a lively atmosphere with friendly, clean racers. I think the PP and tire restrictions are fine as they are.

TL;DR : Racing is fun, stop arguing and go chill out with some people :dopey:

Next season is Side Series. I've haven't decided yet. Too soon to talk about it, we're not even half way through Season 1.

But, one high probability is no 4WD allowed for side series 1. PP might be 500PP but unlikely, probably lower. Tyres and other restrictions probably will stay the same.

Also +1 to Hannibaal's video link above.
Another +1 to fun clean racers and tight and exciting races being more fulfilling than winning.

Japanese cars only or no?

👍
you're basically agreeing with me. all i'm saying is that there's no use in changing tire restriction now. wait till the next season etc.

I think a decision should be made after the end of season 1 tbh, if it turns out that the top 10 drivers are 90% subaru's, then a change needs to be implemented just for the sake of variation in the competition (tires, PP change, whatever). Not to kill the 4wd's off, but simply to make things a bit fairer (i.e. 4wd = 480pp, the rest = 500pp) hell, if nobody is using FF's, let them have 510pp, its hard to gauge it though, as its all down to driver skill, style, etc.

Hell, I'm using an RX-7 FC, definately doesn't feel like the fastest car, but it's way more fun knowing you're pushing a car to its complete limits just trying to keep up with somebody :)

i think it would be cool if we split into two divitions: one being below 450pp and the other above 450pp. players could choose which one to run in or they can run in both. although keeping up with two leaderboards would be hard for timber.

Wow what an intense battle, I chose to chase on round one and applied pressure from turn one. I tried to pass about 5 turns in which ended up with a 7 turn "Door to Door" battle which i backed out of on a tight left turn where i was on the outside. About 3/4's of the way through badboy hit the gas a little early pulling out of a turn which caused him to spin out and lose the lead.

All i can say is Best Battle Yet!!!
