Timber, you updated your own races but didn't update mine, could you do it please?

Hey buddy, I need to sleep too man. Don't worry, watch the Leaderboard, there is a post no up to where it is updated, if I missed it, then please let me know. If not, just sit back and be patient.

Am I allowed to have 2 cars? Because I have one in the 450PP range and one is 478PP. 450PP is my Roadster and 478PP is my Amuse S2000(Yes I use Sports Hard)

Cool, I will add you now. What track and race settings do you wanna do?

Just thought of something. Maybe the Season should have a limited amount of races you can do, that way one driver doesnt have an advantage over another because he's doing race after race. Maybe there should be a limit of 20 races each or something. what do you think?

Yeah it would be closer that way so say you could do 25 races In a 3 week season so person 1 had done all his races in 2 weeks and person 2 had 10 still to do with 1 week to go but he might not get them all done so that means almost FULL commitment.

Yeah 25 races is good, just as long as there is a limit. Otherwise Driver A could do 50 races and driver B might only be able to do 20 or 25. If theres a limit everyone gets a fair chance at getting the maximum points in a season.

Yeah sounds good or maybe 20 per week

I'll take this into consideration. At the moment, there won't be any battle limit. The scoring system calulations is stilled flawed and not really balanced in my oppinion. There are other ways of getting respect/noticed, not neccesarily by getting the most points.

Most players will be remembered if they are clean and respectful, that's where the Battle Rating comes in. So filling in the battle rating is really important.

If you really want to know if a driver is top notch, then you should check his Win/Lose ratio instead, not his score. The scoring as it stands is just experimental.

The reason there isn't any Limit is let Touge fans really enjoy the touge as it is. If you have a battle limit, you'll have to "plan" your strategies and I think that takes out the fun factor. Especially when there's rematches, how would you take that into account? Would that include into your battle limit? If it does or even if it doesn't, it gives you more reason to decline instead of happily accept the rematch.

The concept behind this type of matchmaking playing is actually made to help me enjoy GT5 while still having a baby and a family. Since I can't commit to certain times every week due to unexpected things from the baby and family, I still wanted to play competatively. And thought of this matchmaking concept where I could log-on, and if I see a 'rival' I can still get competative play!

where is the classification?

Currently in the Pre-Season there isn't any classifications. If I cannot come into a conclusion yet. Season 1 will start without any classifications. I'll only implement the classifications once I'm happy with a fair and distinctive classifications.

Having said that, that doesn't mean that other classes won't be able to battle. They still can battle, how would I implement it I haven't worked that out yet. Probably going to be a factored into the scoring system. Giving some form of classification will hopefully get more balanced competition.

At the moment, I'm finding that 450PP can't match 500PP machines, especially when drivers are of equal calibre.

At the moment, one player per car. See above for information about classification.

Also, I was wondering how you can currently calculating the scores for people?

At the moment, I'm just using an Excel spreadsheet to calculate the scores. If there's an Excel master here, I don't mind letting the person have a look.

I will release the formula used to calculate the scores, either after the pre-season or after season 1. Then I can get the community input to try improve and have a more balanced scoring system. I won't share it now, cause it's not ready to be critic yet. And more importantly cause there are other more important and fun things to sort out. Such as battle structures and stuff.

I firstly want the touge community to have fun first and not turn it into a mathematical debate on how scoring should be calculated. I may even keep it private and get a few people along side to help me on this. Cause somethings are better kept controlled by the host instead of letting public oppinion change things.

Is it optional to change or is it permanent? Sorry If I'm asking.

All submitted applications are permanent. You can only change your car at the next season.

Ok thanks! It was funny when you were going leave when I joined in earlier this morning. I'll try to be up around 7 or 8 AM EST. Might lag though because my router is in the basement.

Results Submission:

Rival 1: GTP_Shigegaki
Rival 2: emilio3k
Track: Emilio3k's home course.
Race type: 3-lap Cat'n'Mouse
Winner: emilio3k
Rating: 1

Comments: Wasn't anything but laggy. Tried on his lounge then mine. I will take the loss, your FD is fast I will admit.

@ TimberW

When will season 1 start? And will we have a choice of who we drive against? Playing against others that aren't close is pretty rough.

rival 1:GTP_Shigegaki
rival 2:emilio3k
rules: 3 runs cat&run
course: emilio3k's initialD home turf (decision maded by GTP_Shigegaki)
result: emilio3k won by overtaking in 1st run
comment: GTP_Shigegaki wanted to redo the battle saying that my room was laggy (i just flamed him in the 1st corner he braked, me not. then i pull away, but i accepted to redo); we went in GTP_Shigegaki private lobby and we start again. he doesnt seemed very fairplayin.. he hit me 2 times damaging completely our cars.

If you watched the replay, I went to block you from passing on the inside. I lost control of the car but you smashed into me purposely afterwards. I manned up and took the lost. I don't really care that I lost, it just sucked playing with a rival so far away the lag was stupid to continue. Also don't try to bash me, just because I was driving defensively and you crashed into me. The race is over and done with.

So quick question, I already have my car picked so it doesn't really matter.. but what are the limits on which production cars you can use? I mean, I would assume there are no super cars allowed (Ferrari, Lambo, RUF, etc). I was considering trying out other BMWs and things like that.. i know they are heavy but they are still production cars. I assume everyone here is going to end up using JDM anyway though.

I was thinking about this as well while on the Touge in my 512BB and it handled the pass quite differently than a BMW or Mercedes would. quite agile indeed... but the being evenly matched in performance to my fellow drivers it wasn't over/under powered.

Kept up with a 22b though the Ferrari is quite fragile... got damaged far easier than my Evo or Z32

Personally, i wouldn't disallow USDM or European cars from entering. Though i would have a list of certain supercars that should be either banned or allowed to compete only against cars in its class. Like a 459 vs. LP-560.

Then again, we would have to devise a class system to separate these vehicles

The pre-season as it stands will last 3 weekends, we're about to enter the first weekend.

There will not be any facilitation of who you are playing against. It's up to the two to decide. You can decline a challenge if you think you're on a disadvantage. Eg Internet connection, etc. But I think it's only fair if both parties are reasonable. If the connection is crap, reschedule the battle.

It's the first time that lag is being brought up now. I find that hosting a public room without fixed ownership is quite good. The people don't lag much. I don't have one of the best Internet connections but it does the job. It's at best ADSL 1 standard.

Yes, you can use RUF and other cars. See post #1 in green for car selection details. Just as long as its 500PP max. And make sure it is compliant to the other regulations.

Thanks for the update Timber, when I battled Pimento. There was no lag what so ever and he lives outside North America. And I do believe we used the public lobby.

Anyone up for a friendly battle? I won't be using my registered car, so the race won't count.
