Unless BoP is involved, at which point the only competitive car for most races is the Atenza, lol
With the 1.13 patch, which also brought some heavy BoP changes, the Atenza is not even that good anymore, most Gr.4 races are 90% Subarus now.

Haven’t even raced Sport Mode since GTS. I did read about the Gr.4 Atenza being META, but I guess these things go in cycles. Something else will be META… and so on… and so on… and so on…. :sly:

Anyway, got my other three. Time to make the #7, #14 & #15 liveries. Wish I could just change the number instead of making a whole new livery.

How do you say disappointed without being to harsh?

Whoever decided to give the legendary 155 the sound of a mediocre car should be forced to eat sushi with a fork for a month.

The real 155 sounds like a freaking animal when it revs high, it has that hard metallic about to explode sound.

Yes I drove the 155 today, not satisfied. Thank God the wheel handed me 5000 credits to make sure I left the game angry..

Tomorrow I will tune it to race with a chance of rain..

Does the fork make it taste worse? If not, I'll take the blame...and the sushi.

Yeah, I didn't like it either. It's the sound from the F50, but worsened.

I do find the 155 uses quite a bit of fuel, which is a disadvantage at Le Mans 30 minutes.

Yeah, we lack old racecar events. A great pity.
I would love to have a pre-1979 event for 550 pp or something.

Doesn't matter. still trucks it. pit every 2 laps. Only car I have needed an engine overhaul for.

I don't have the same car ...
Stock 155 with fm5 do 3 laps in 30min of lemans with automatic transmission. With fm6 and manual transmission do 4 laps without pit
Agreed I can do 3 laps with very minor fuel management efforts and 4 with FM6, even switched to FM5 near the end. Manual trans.

I use RPM Turbo. I don't touch Fuel Management. 2 laps...0.1 left. Manual. 0 assists. ABS Default. 697pp. Rains right after Lap 2 almost every time. Just move over to Intermediate Wet Tires from Racing Hard from there. Win by 1 minute sometimes more, sometimes less.

For those that wonder what kind a drugs i am on... these are the drugs i am looking for...

Is the Shelby Daytona for 20M an interesting/special drive? Or just there for collector value?
Sadly it`s close to useless* as a racecar in this pathetic game. It`s rear wing has no effect, same here as with several other US-made cars. The 1000 kilo/2200lbs racecar slides around helplessly even on medium or soft racetyres. What a joke.

Another joke; a replacement-engine costs 10millions! Ten millions for a slightly freshed up Ford Windsor 289cui. That`s even moore hilarious than the crazy overpriced Ford Cleveland engine for the De Tomaso Pantera

*will try to make a decent setup, mybe in PP400..:yuck:

Thats insane, considering you could build a race-ready Ford small block with considerably more power than 304 or whatever it has for about $10k IRL.

That's good to know. Guess I should probably try daily races again to see if BoP has improved to the point where it's not just one car dominating all the others on the leaderboards. Even if it is improved, I still want the ability to make tweaks to brake bias, suspension, and LSD.

Getting tuner races back would give me so much more to do in this game besides grinding, but PP calculation needs to be fixed before we see tuner races again. They just need to remove transmission and LSD, maybe even ballast from the calculation as there are obviously too many variables for their calculation algorithm to handle.

For those that wonder what kind a drugs i am on... these are the drugs i am looking for...

You've obviously never tried heroin, lol.

Nor should you, it ruined my life for nearly a decade... But even after three years sober I still dream about it: the smell, the quasi-painful histamine release as it comes on, that first couple points in the morning with my coffee. Absolutely sublime...
The stupid thing is it wasn't the drug or its effects that destroyed me, it was the financial ruin, ie drug prohibition. Still infuriates me to even think about that aspect of the US/West's drug war and how many lives it has destroyed in lieu of being mature about it and regulating drugs like alcohol. Hundreds of billions of dollars a year flowing to mafias/cartels/street gangs, billions spent on dope cops/interdiction, and we're still seeing record usage and addiction. Such an absolute failure, yet they just keep trucking on with same horrible policies that ruin more lives than all drugs combined ever could.

Anyway, back to cars... lol. We need a DTM and JGTC/Super GT series in this game. Badly.

Glad to see you clean dude, i have watched so many people crumble under addiction and most normal people have no idea of what it takes to beat an addiction, those that do have super powers i do not under stand...

Back to my addiction!

The drug i want...

The drug we get..

It's not bad it's just wrong :-/

Yup this car highlights the fact that PD either do not take intake sounds into consideration or they made them too quiet on many cars.

Not to mention the fact as you stated the sound sample is simply incorrect. It would have made more sense for PD to reuse the sound from the F1500T-A as the 90s DTM do sound sorta similar to 80s F1 cars with intake sound added.

Whilst the sounds are better than previous games there no way near perfect, some of the cars,Alfa 155,sound awful and some of the louder-in-real-life cars are too quiet. In my town there are 2 Mustangs, one with loud exhaust and one with a non-standard supercharger fitted, both are louder than they are in game. They both sound`vicious`if you get my meaning, and the supercharger sounds ace,but in game thet are pretty quiet.

It'll never cease to amaze me how these multi million/billion pound businesses fail to use common sense and any hint of imagination and vision, when it comes to sound design.

Never heard of good audio recording equipment and recording the ACTUAL sounds?

The Number One priority when making any motorsports game should be the sound.

I think you’re getting carried away. I reckon 95% of the player base would put:
Handling
Number of cars
Number of tracks
Number of eligible racers these cars we work hard to get can actually race in
Graphics

Over sound quality.

I’d actually go as high as 99.8% of player base, and that’s a conservative estimate.

Some of the old cars in game get scanned from Museums where they have been sitting for years, and may not even still start, or if they can start, they can’t be taken outside and actually driven. How are they supposed to record the sound from those cars? 🤔

What's even worse - I prefer using the hood cam visually BUT have to sacrifice the sounds coming from the car.

They could probably find a car with a similar engine to record the sound from if they cannot dyno rig the car they scanned. A few games have done similar though the results can still be pretty poor if the engine is far too different.

An example would be the CLK-LM as the model of the car scanned seems to be the one that ran in the FIA GT 1998 Championship though the sound is the same as the Sauber C9 which is technically correct due to the the Le mans spec CLK-LMs engines running the same motor as the Sauber C9 without Turbos though the FIA specs sounds so much better.

To stay on topic though i'm glad the F1 GTR is here another day without being low stock as the Tokyo grinding for a third model has been getting pretty tiring.

The Alfa is not one of them though. We have pictures of them scanning it at a garage years ago and we know it runs, it's driven semi-regularly as a showpiece.
