I've been driving for just over 2 years and have absolutely no issue with driving long distances. I enjoy it actually.

I was driving the 700 kms to Christchurch from Invercargill on a fairly regular basis when I was on my restricted license. It's no biggy. And yes, quite enjoyable.

Edit: I've done the drive to Melbourne via A.C.T before (just to say I'd been in another state :P), from Brisbane. It is a long ass drive. My friend has done Perth to Gold Coast then back down to Melbourne and back to Perth before. He's a little crazy though.

As do I. But, I live near the three worst traffic cities in the world, (near the 401, which happens to be the busiest highway in North America.) The sheer amount of other cars, and the constant construction, lane-closures, crashes, flooding etc. Just causes mayhem. It's actually hard.

Once I get out of Toronto, Ontario, on my long drives, it's quite pleasurable. I like the drives towards Ottawa, for example.

I think i'll be splitting the drive with my grandfather, as much fun as that won't be -.-

I wish him luck driving my car, noone seems to be able to understand the clutch. It's like a button, there is no need to travel on my clutch. You bring it to the bite, get moving and bring the clutch all the way out. Everyone stalls it due to how sensitive it is and the lack of effective travel.

In other news, I will be buying a 32gb iPad 1st Gen tomorrow for around $100 less than I should be paying which is nice, gotta love mates rates ;).

Even I feel like I'm closer to crashing, when I have no idea where I'm going.
I thought Germans had an infallible sense of direction? Or does Canada have something in the air that messes with the senses?

I put almost 1000km on my car in three days during the first weekend I had it, it was both enjoyable and boring - enjoyable because, well, driving. Boring because open road, bad drivers and campervans, cars towing boats, buses and the like.

Having said that, trying to overtake a car towing a boat and not managing to build up enough speed to complete the manoeuvre before a lorry appears in the oncoming lane (thanks, less-than-110-horsepower) certainly spices things up...

That's the part I'm talking about. In my own area, I know what the bad drivers do. But, when I'm in Toronto, I have no clue what the other bad drivers will do. I can't yet assume that I understand where they're planning to go.

As for Legendary, Mate's Rates are awesome, until you're paying a mate, and he expects an hourly Mate Rate that's higher than you make per hour. :scared: Damn it, GTP user Whiskymaser! <-- He costs me a lot of money. $80 to fix my mom's computer that wasn't even broken.

What are you complaining about? I've only got 97!

You all laughed when I said wagon. 170-180 hp.

Who's laughing now? :sly:

Anyways, you guys should really look into giving yourself more fun. After driving my wagon, my dad is convinced on selling his Accent and driving the Subaru more often. Life's too short for Hyundai.

There are so many cars in this members rides section that would absolutely demolish that little wagon. Mine being one of them ;) So I guess a few of us are laughing, actually lol.

I don't doubt that your Celica's fast. I actually really like it. :)

But, a Surf? :odd: Doesn't stand a chance.

Haha I was only being a smart ass ;)

But... But... But... I'm one of those few guys who actually likes those Celicas. In fact, my mom told me horror stories about how they were bad in the snow, because the guy she was dating at the time used to skid/get stuck in the snow a lot. Well, 💡 that might not be the car's fault...

Living in sunny Queensland, I've never driven it in the snow, but to be fair the US version (Alltrac) had an open rear diff and a pretty sedate centre diff. The Australian spec one has the same rear LSD as the Euro and Carlos Sainz models so would probably be better in the snow. But in saying that as long as you aren't driving like a turkey an Alltrac should be more than capable in the snow.

But, I can drive like a turkey AND a pelican in the Impreza.

Let's not talk about HP you lot, I once estimated that i'd probably have around 35kw left at the wheels, its rather depressing ;).

Murcie_LP640 lives down that way too, we'll be the GTP GC8 representatives of South Australia ;).

Damn straight :D but if you're getting custom plates, these are already taken :D

Probably should update my thread for that too.

Im not sure if i'll even transfer the rego when it's time to renew, nor my license. SA's laws seem a little tighter than up here and i'm not cool with that ;).

Now those WRC plates above are cool, but if what I think is right, they are down right insane. Those are standard, randomly generated plates aren't they? If so, god damn!

Yeah I checked :) they've been taken.

My sister and her fiance were the opposite haha, they moved from SA to QLD but they didn't transfer rego or licenses.

Also I think they might be personalised plates? Personalised plates have to have at least 1 number and have the respective state's seal in them but then again the "Victoria - The Place To Be" thing would lead me to believe that they're actually randomly generated. In any case though, they're badass.

:odd: How do you check that? How do you even get custom plates in Australia? Makes me wonder how this is done up in the not-so-white north.

Yeah I am sure I can get away with it for 12 months, my parents will still live here so I dont need to change my residential address.

The slogan for Victoria got me as well, that's why I thought it was random.

Each state has their own personalised plate website, you simply type in the combination you want and it will tell you whether it's available or not.

Oops my bad guys! The WRC 555 plate is a fake given to me by a buddy of mine. It's not even the correct size (slightly smaller than the real thing). I have it displayed in my garage, not on my car these days.

Some guy in my town actually has "WRC-555" on his plate. And I've checked my state's custom plate site, "WRC" is available and so is "SWRT-04". When I renew my plates I think I'll get a custom one.
