Cool that we take a real F1 car, but I would like a modern FGT, because we would be able to use livery editor in full extent.
Now could not even touch a single sponsor.

Anyway, it could be a great update! :)

Well it looks like the W08 is indeed coming to Gt Sport! Just hope I can buy it with No.77! Really don't want the 44!!

I hate F1 and LH too...
If you don't like F1 or Lewis Hamilton, you don't have to use the car, unless there's an event in GT League. Or maybe you can still enjoy the car even if you're not a fan. I don't care about F1 at all but I do appreciate having this car.

Me too... but didn't the Renault F1 car in Forza had the custom livery capability?
Never played Forza myself. Are there any cars in any Forza game you can't mess with the livery on?

Okay, I looked up the Renault RS 17 on Forza 7 and you can change the livery.

How would a 2017 car resemble a 1980's F1 car?
Well since I don't go into things with too much detail it goes like this. If it's **** to use/drive like the other one, then it's a no from me.

Yes we all make jokes about Lewis but he knows how to drive. Moreover, the W08 is a championship winning car, only adding to the appeal.

I know very little about Lewis Hamilton other than that he's an F1 driver. I'm just excited to try out a modern F1.

What? No ugly Halo? I'm so disappointed! 💡
I forgot the halo still wasn't a thing yet last year.

I hope Mercedes agrees to have their formula car wear custom liveries. It has worked for Ricciardo's Red Bull in The Crew 2, but Red Bull isn't the kind of company who would be nosey about those restrictions, unlike Ferrari.

Maybe Lewis Hamilton has a say in that.

Alright we know the Formula car is closely resembles W08. However, I want to ask what are the differences between W08 and W09 had apart from the halo? Both looks almost identical to me... 💡

Performance.
The W08 was the base for which the W09 evolved from. It has far more aggressive aero parts, more complex barge-boards, the W08 also had a shark fin and a little wing on the top of this like a coat-hanger (both of which where banned for this year and so not on the W09).

The W08 was famous for being a very difficult car to set up and Mercedes struggled constantly with trying to hook it up properly for races. I wonder how much of that carries over and which spec the model and performance will be based on.

One thing that's harder to see on those images is just how dramatic the change in nose is.

Okay, thanks for the info  As you said the car being difficult with the set up is that means aerodynamic adjustment for certain tracks only or also involving mechanical tuning as well?

In real life, it meant adjusting the balance of the car for each track, though this was largely due to trying to balance the tyre heat and performance (which wont be replicated in GTS because of it's very poor tyre modelling)... but I've no idea how that would manifest it's self into the game, I'm guessing it wont. Similarly to how we don't get high and low downforce LMP1 cars, we just get the one.

Just occurred to me... this thing is gona be like 4-5million credits that I don't have :(

Well since you have about a week and a little bit until the update, you could do the BMB event 5 times a Day (With a Aston Martin Vulcan if you have one already) and voila, instant 5 Million. Its abit grindy, but it'll far less grindy then the Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari 330 P4.

Yeah I'm defo gona have a crack at grinding out as much as I can... might only manage a few of those in the evenings after work a day though
