For those that have it, I just won B-spec Like the Wind using my Mazda 787B Stealth Model.

I tried both races yesterday with the same car and set up, however my Bob was on a downer.
Today he's on the up and won by more than the length of the main straight.
also lapped the last car :P

The set up I used was :

927hp / 830kg

Tyres: Racing Hard
Aero: 60/85
Trans: Max speed 420
LSD: default 10/40/20
Suspension:
-15/-10
15.8/14.8
8/8
8/8
6/6
Wheel allignment:
2.0/3.0
0.00/0.20

Breaks: 5/5

So i had most stuff at default and he won very easily.
I think the biggest factor was the fact he woke up in a good mood today and had the *BOING* upwards arrow goin on.

Strat was: just spam overtake until you take the lead.

:)

Any tips on this one? Im level 21 and Ive bob to run it with maxed out Zonda R, Viper, even the Bugatti and i cant find any car in my garage to fit this race. Bob does it well til the end where i spins out everytime i try (Zonda R). What car did you use I have a bout 200k credit wich aint much for a racecar to deal with those classes.... would the ZR1 RM work good with this one? thanks for your time

I tried with about every fast car in my garage, no luck. Had to wait until I was able to buy the FGT then it was a piece of cake...

^
A Spec or B? How is your car tuned? I couldn't beat them by that much. hahaha

I am at level 21 B and my bob is at 19. Going to build up his level a bit because of the same reason.

It was in B Spec, I cant remember what tracks are in that series, but make sure the transmission is set properly, thats probably the most important thing.

edit: Also drop the ride height a little. That race is usually kind of close since its against LMP cars but the Zonda R has a better P/W ratio then most of the competition.

hi im new to the gran turismo games. Really enjoying gt5, just a few questions, i hear people talk about like the wind race, im level 19 on a spec, is this race on the extreme series. Just started the b spec and i am already running away in the lead with my created driver. I take it that it gets harder and im wondering that because my driver is winning the early races comfortably will it ruin his chances in races to come in the future. Also where is this Vettel challenge that i keep hearing about? Thanks Sam.

Did Like the wind A-spec with a maxed out Zonda R soft tyres. Won a Minolta wich i got maxed out to 1000bhp and my bob could get 1st in Like the wind with no prob. thanks

If you are leveling your A-spec and B-spec at the same time and at the same rate (who does this!!??), than you can win the Minolta-Toyota Race Car with the Zonda-R in "Like The Wind" in A-spec mode, then use the Minolta to let B-Spec Bubbling Bob win, but even then you will need to buy the high rpm turbo kit and get an oil change just to keep him in the race.

Also, you will need FULL downforce and you will need to set the top speed on the transmission to 253 mph or maybe one higher, but 253 mph worked for my Bewilderingly Bad-driving Bob. That is roughly 407 kph for all of you metric using people out there(smarter than us stupid Americans...we still measure things in "feet"...ya know like your effin feet).

i used the fgt, but due to that damn vertigo race car driving like my blind cousin after a case of nati light, bob still barely wins that race as he slows to a crawl behind it while the other cars catch up. quite frustrating as there's nothing i can tell him that will keep him from making the same mistake EVERY TIME. "speed up!! no? overtake!! no? crap"

In this moment my b-spec team is winning the 500 of Indy (for the 3rd time) ..
with a stock GT-ONE with 775 hp ...

they always win the like the wind with this car ..
DF at maximum and speed setted at 410km/h (254 mph)..

Hello there, I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestion for me for these races Like the wind & GT-All Star. I have been using my Zonda & my 09 GTR both fully modded and I have leveled to level 23 B-SPEC. I still can't seem to beat Like the wind or GT-All star. I have been looking on google for any advice, but most people have advice only on A-Spec.

I have been farming money and have about 4.3m at this moment. If there is any suggestion that some one can advise on how to beat these races it would be a great help. Again I am looking for advice on B-SPEC

Thanks:)

Save up a bit more and get the FGT ($4.8M). It destroys the competition, and you'll need it to compete in the FGT championships later.

i have the Minolta 88C-V + full upgrades plus tuned and i cant get passed 11th place my driver is level 22. it is not as easy as you say it is

im a level 33 a spec and have all 3 types of X1's. so b-spec is easy for the most part. my favorite name for a driver is my N. Schumacher :D b spec level 15 and climbing lol. Like the wind should be a breeze with he X1

Am I alone in using the Nissan R89C for this one. Stage 3 turbo, max downforce and 250mph gearing made it relatively easy. Once I'd seen that Bob'tard could do it I went back and ran it myself in A-Spec.

Bit pricey at 3.5 million cr. tho'...:scared:

Shelled out for a FGT especially for Like the Wind and dominated every race it could enter ever since!

Once level 40 is achieved I shall go back and start doing them all again in cars which will actually present a challenge but until then...

If you have anyone from these forums in your PSN friends list, go in to 'profiles' off the a-spec/b-spec/dealership screen. Go to one of your friends and see what cars they have set to 'share' you can then select the car and borrow it, you'll probably find they have shared some good cars that are more than capable of winning. I have set some of the cars that I used for certain events set to share for people to borrow for those events that those cars are required for.

Yeah what Fluk3 said! I just got the game yesterday, and thanks to my friend, bob's been using the very best in 4 wheeled vehicles :P If i'm not using his cars, I'm using my tried and true ZR1 RM, but I'm not sure she'd win Like the Wind... How hot headed is your bob? I'll try my zr with my pissed off bob later on like the wind, and let you know how it goes... Not sure if personality has anything to do with it, but I noticed bob likes to play dirty...he's knocked at least 10 ai's off the road... overtake means p.i.t. maneuver to him i guess?
