i agree. Huge problem with huge percent of todays cars, especially american.
I still wonder where did originality get lost?
Its all about Details. Take the simplest thing and make it your own. it creates a smooth side having Hidden Handles like that.
Anyone know the MSRP for the new Continental?
Don't see the resemblance.I think it looks like a Ford Fusion with some chrome.
That isn't overtly original, either.
Who comes up with a number like that?now throw in 6.5 V8...
EDIT: Mondeo = Fusion?
Yes, the current-gen Fusion is based on the Mondeo. Just, we don't get the wagon variant because the US hates wagons, along with many other things.I believe it is, Wikipedia has been wrong before though.
no more 6.5 nowWho comes up with a number like that?
The thing is, it would quite a waste of money for Ford to create something like a 6.5L, as they already have other V8 engines.no more 6.5 now
Or they could use engine from Ford GT.The thing is, it would quite a waste of money for Ford to create something like a 6.5L, as they already have other V8 engines.
Yes it was. Everyone remembers the early 1960s Continental (and the somewhat similar Bullet T-Bird), mostly because it looked nothing like any of its competitors. Not a lot of people remember the knockoffs Chrysler put together a few years later, and the only thing GM had that was remotely similar was the original Riviera.
Ford GT uses 3.5L TT V6 similar to F-150, Taurus SHO, etc.Or they could use engine from Ford GT.
But small possibility for a high performance version
Sorry Neddo, but I doubt Lincoln has a high performance model in mind for this car. The older continentals never had a high performance version, I don't see why they would start now.Or they could use engine from Ford GT.

Nah.Anyone else getting an Infiniti vibe? Melt it a bit more and you'll get a Q50.

Indeed, that's why I doubt Lincoln would pull something like that with the continental; I figured that Lincoln is trying to stick with what they use to be about. I mean, I love performance luxury sedans like the Cadillac CTS-V and BMW M5, but I know that isn't in Lincoln's nature.Performance is not what Lincoln is about. Having Moderate HP?, yes. Having the ability to hang with a Z28 on VIR?, NO... thats what Cadillac needs to get off they heads.. This is Simple American Luxury. Flashy, Bold, Having Road Presence. Quite, Smooth, and Comfy.
