croStampy, that was indeed poetic... and an appropriate warning to those with epilepsy!

I really enjoyed it, as it is both challenging (I don't know if I would be able to ace it) and quite unique. 👍

The only thing I would suggest is to add some point bubbles and at least one 'race' feature... thus allowing people to judge how much faster and better they are getting through it. The final score is always 0 no matter how fast or how few sackboys you use to get through it, so I suspect it doesn't encourage a great deal of replay value.

Just something to consider. Regardless, it was really well done, and thanks for sharing. 👍


BTW: There is a level that shares a somewhat similar visual tone from a Japanese user by the name of gehaa that I think you and others might really enjoy as well. It's called Silhouette Flowers. I don't recall where on the LBP globe it is located on, but if you search for "gehaa", it's very easy to find. 👍

So I've been making vehicles laely and was wondering why when I make a car, the rear wheels seem to be underpowered compared to the front wheels when they're both hooked up to a switch with the same settings on both front and rear motors.

I have the same issue. do you need to make the vehicle 4wd? Id suggest you just use a bolt for the second wheel.

The nice thing is they allowed you to knock out all the x3 and x4 co-op levels. 👍

They can be tough to master, which I suspect is why they were placed in that particular story level.

The trick is to think of them as very fast moving tread mills that just so happen to be in the shape of a circle. Thus, when you get near the top of each one, as you let go, immediately start moving in the opposite direction the wheel is spinning. If you feel like you are about to fall off, just jump and reposition your self at the top of the wheel and again start moving in the opposite direction. With practice you'll likely find you can stay on top of the wheels for a reasonably long time, and even stay on top of the small ones long enough to make a successful jump to the next wheel. 👍

Just wait until the whole screen is a spinning wheel. Then you will long for the days when repeated mistakes usually just meant you tried again, not that you restart the level.

I'm at the set with the sliding, rotating wheels that also have the tilting platforms. That set does have the death feature if you miss a grab and can't get something on the way down. I've had no energy to replay the level to get back there yet.

After enough times you get to where you never fall all the way down. If you see me online this week send me a message and I will get you through it.

After you get past that you then get to pop pimples bubbles on a sumo wrestler's butt! 👍

Besides that I’m sure it will improve my skills with practice for other challenges down the road. I am using my GTP_ tag BTW to play LBP so that my son doesn’t go exploring on MY game save. He uses my UnoMOTO tag to get through the game.

And on the topic of cheating the system my son said that on his day off yesterday that he found an online level that was something like “get 5 trophies in 30 seconds”. I actually was very disappointed that people make levels like this. Where is the fun in that? Where did the old fashioned way go of actually working for a trophy?

Well the trophies that I'm assuming were mentioned were:
reach incredible height
reach incredible speed
score 1,000,000 points.

None of those are possible in any of the story levels I'm 99.9% sure so user created levels are what are relied upon to get these. So if a level just combines all these tasks required it's not exactly cheating.

It does, and the developers hate it. In fact, the story of the MGS levels

is based around the villain flooding LittleBigPlanet with trophy levels.

You will also notice the decsriptions for those kinds of leevls, as well as the comments section of the story levels all say, "Heart me and I will heart you" or "Heart 4 Heart."

I am happy to say I earned mine without ever once saying any form of heart for heart.

Honestly, if you just comment on levels you like in an intelligent way people then check you out, or at a minimum, the creator of that level will.

Sadly I haven't been on LBP that much lately. But I have been on a few times, mainly working on my new level, playing online levels and playing online with friends. I'm on the Metropolis in Story mode, where I'm on the second level of that I think.

You signed off as I was responding to your message last night.

Do all the tutorials by clicking on the question mark in the popit. After you do them all and the question mark goes away then you can work on creating. It can take as much as 30 minutes.

Also, if you are going for the trophy for doing all tutorials, things not in the required tutorials have them as well.

To get the new year started in the right way we’ve got matching Sackboy and Sackgirl Chinese New Year outfits which will be available for free next week to help you celebrate the year of the Ox. At the same time you can also dress up as the world famous Groundhog in a bid to predict the length of winter. When February rolls around you’ll have no excuse for forgetting to buy a card as we release a special Valentine’s Day pack containing 12 stickers and some themed costume pieces for your Sackperson. Each of these downloads will be available for a limited time, so grab them while they’re hot!
